I will receive my galaxy nexus few hours later and plan to unlock my phone. Is there a way to hide the unlock logo after I unlock the bootloader or Can I unlock the bootloader, then root the phone and relock the bootloader after to clear the logo but still get the root access. If yes, then how to relock the bootloader?
fastboot oem lock will re-lock the bootloader
But will I still get the root access of my phone after I relock the bootloader and will the unlock logo disappear when boot up after I relock the bootloader?
p.s. It is retail version
why do you need it locked?
I don't like the unlock logo at bootup and the warranty detail only state that I will lost the warranty if I unlock the bootloader, so relock it in case I need warranty, it may cheat them
so then you relock it if you need to. Development for this phone is very young right now so you'll likely be doing alot of flashing. I flash different rom/kernel combinations probably 3-5 times a day with how often things are updating right now. Besides the little unlock symbol is pretty awesome
I know the development is young, that's why I post this. I just need to confirm
1) Is it possible to relock the bootloader in retail version
2) Will the unlock logo disappear after relock
3) Will the phone can still get the root access after relock the bootloader

1) Yes, "fastboot oem lock"
2) Yes
3) Yes, while "fastboot oem lock" does not touch any of your data, "fastboot oem unlock WILL delete all your data. None of these processes can remove root access, the only way to remove it is to reflash the system partition, either by flashing it manually or through an OTA update.

I used fastboot oem lock and now it says RELOCKED in fastboot. I also got rid of the security warning flag. Next I'd like to get a complete lock so I enter fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 which hangs the bootloader and doesn't fix my problem. has anyone yet been able to obtain complete LOCK?

Hi all, I need to relock the bootloader, flashing back stock MM or LP didn't solve the issue for me, neither hard resetting, bootloader is still unlocked and the message appears on every start in the high left corner.
Can You help relock or it's impossible for now please?
It's not possible to relock once it's unlocked. It does tell you this when u unlock it.

Getting it relocked is the only way to send it back for warranty claim. I wasn't able to get it recognized by my computer so that I can run fastboot comands on it - the right one is ./fastboot oem lock

Did you use the proper fastboot.exe? What OS is your computer? If it's windows try these.
It seems that in order to get fastboot operational, you need to have a working bootloader. So, after a couple (hundred) of tries - DO NOT FLASH KDZ (REFURBISH) your LG G4, it still boots once in a while and if it has your account and data and it will be faster to get to fastboot mode and get the bootloader locked again. Can somebody confirm that you can execute "fastboot oem lock" on an unlocked device? This will save us a lot of time trying to get the device to that state...
for me it is impossibile. If you have a g4 with bootloader locked and you doing fastboot oem unlock it says that it is no possibile...you must follow the instructions that lg provides with file unlock.bin
So is impossibile relock bootloader with fastboot oem lock...I hope that anyone find the way to do it...
Well unfortunately it is not posible to lock the bootloader via "fastboot oem lock" I'm waiting for user @warloxfre for some more info on his ideas (fingerscrossed)
Ok so I was reading an article and now I'm confused. I see there are two ways to unlock a phone...the regular unlock command and an unlock critical command. From what I understand the unlock critical command is for updating the bootloader? When would I want to do this? I was on the Android P final beta and because official Pie release was delayed here in Canada I decided to just unlock and flash Pie manually. I did this and then relocked the bootloader. But is my bootloader outdated now? Confused. ?
If you keep the bootloader unlocked your bootloader will never go out of date, otherwise the bootloader will not be updated on subsequent stock ROM updates. I personally recommend unlocking the bootloader using both commands and keeping it unlocked. You'll have a minor annoyance in that you'll have a warning pop up prior to boot about the bootloader being unlocked, but I believe avoid a major annoyance in Factory Reset Protection being disabled with the bootloader unlock.

Also does leaving the bootloader unlocked stop Google Pay and some banking apps from working?
Enter both commands, one after the other. The bootloader, even if it has no updates, is included with every copy of the stock ROM you download from Google. It will also be included with any OTAs that come directly to the device. You'll have to discover for yourself whether Google Pay and your banking app are affected, because I simply do not know. I don't use my device for banking.
After tried to install stock rom on my pixel2 xl, i locked bootloader.
Now, i cant unlock bootloader because i cant boot and check oem unlock.
When try to boot into recovery, and boot to android, just appear message "can't find valid operating system"
What to do?
I tried unlock bootloader from adb, and get the message that is not allowed in lock state
Everything i can is boot in fastboot mode.
Is there any possibility to unlock bootloader without check OEM unlock, because i cant boot anything?
Please help.

Why did you lock the bootloader anyway?? If you can't get to the OS to check OEM unlocking and USB debugging....your hosed as far as unlocking the bootloader again. And since you have no recovery now, you can't side load an OTA to get your OS back. Might as well RMA it I'm afraid
Please people, read this and understand me clearly...
Unless you have a very very VERY good reason to relock the bootloader. DO NOT. The risk is too great for no reward.
This is the second or maybe the third post this week alone where someone may have hosed their phone doing just this...

Usually you just write
FASTBOOT OEM RELOCK, but with huawei, you have to write with you UNLOCK CODE

fastboot oem relock UNLOCK CODE, after that you will see a popup on your screen phone. just accept and your phone will be factory reseted and locked again!
