i have googled this and tried multiple ways of installing it but i always get a boot loop. Whats going on?
Hey if you just want to get your phone back again, just flash another firmware from the one you used. Should start up just fine.
have done already but i actually want to install cyn mod. I managed to get as far as the main screen buit then immediately reboots. I cant find wifi modules for latest doom kernel either they arent in his thread.
FLASH KERNEL FIRST (from cyanogenMOD or doomkernel for CM7 etc)
Than flash cyanogenMOD
any other way will make your phone bootloop.
I think you have to unlock BL via SE in order to flash CM..
of course you would likely broke your warranty.
this based on my experience (I'm a newbie too in the android's world). this is what I've done :
1. unlock BL via SE (not all carriers allowed this!)..
2. flash .42 fw
3. follow the instructions given on CM thread by fxp.
it's worked for me.
goodluck.
I've had this problem before. Did you wipe the delvic cache, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition in CWM before you flashed the update.zip?
It would seem it was a specific version of cm that was making it bootloop the one from dooms thread 7.2.0 works fine and also the one before the latest stable release also worked fine. I however found a problem with the spacebar on the keyboard when using the phone in landscape so am now going to try arconium and doom kernel its a shame really because cm from what i used of it looked really nice.
Try 7.1.0.1.
I got bootloop too with 7.1.0.2

Aye thats the one i used but ended up having a problem with the spacebar not working in landscape so am on acronium now which is all good but superuser keeps crashing meh always something eh.
at first im also having the same problem, just follow the instruction by FXP : flash bb56,flash fw.42,flash FXP kernel via fastboot, flash update via recovery, wipe dalvik cache,reboot..

I have this exact same problem
I've done everything I was supposed to, I think, and still doesn't work. It boots, shows me the little Android "Welcome!" screen, and before I have time to press anything or begin setting up my device, it reboots into the Cyanogenmod loading screen. I've tried different kernels, different basebands, every time wiping Dalvik cache, etc. and it REFUSES to work. I'm pretty desperate by now because I really wanted to use this ROM so any help is greatly appreciated.
I also followed precisely rashid.fairus' instructions and it still does the exact same thing.

Sometimes you DON'T WIPE ANYTHING AT ALL. Just flash CM and Google.
Works for me on Xperia Acro S.

Wipe dalvik and cache when upgrading to later version, wiping data will reset phone to factory settings and you lose all personal data.

What are the steps you are taking to flash your rom and boot.img?
when you flash your rom it should go into aroma.. choose the option that says do full wipe, if you dont you'll run into problems. after you have flashed it, flash your boot.img in fastboot mode from your computer then do fastboot erase cache to prevent any problems from the boot.img. Can you give me the steps your taking to flash?

Wiping is VERY IMPORTANT! if the necessary steps arn't taken then you can mix up new codes with the old codes leaving you with many different problems. Thats why devs ALWAYS recomment wiping even when Wiping isnt needed to avoid such problems. Also you might want to check your md5 sum from your downloaded rom.. could potentially be a bad download

I had something like this with my HOX once, but the problem was due to loose connections after i had cracked it open. you can look at the development section to revert back to original. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094113

hello i decided to upgrade my hboot by flashing the correct firmware http://www.androidrevolution.nl/downloader/download.php?file=3.16.65.2.zip also never did any OTA just update my hboot
my cid is orang216 and now after upgrading i am completely stuck on htc ONE screen i cant boot into my stock ics 4.0.3 rom anymore pleaseeee helppppppp i can however boot into hboot WHAT TO DOOO???
EDIT : Also i unlocked my new hboot again and flashed cwm recovery touch and did a factory reset aka wipe user data from CWM touch menu but no luck helpppp
You could just flash a new Rom instead of your stock Rom.... Fast boot flash the boot.img then go back into recovery and flash away... I believe the reason why ur getting stuck is because ur on a jelly bean hboot now

OMG Thanks sooooo much to XDA now i am running arhd smoothly on my htc one x WOOOOOOT:victory::victory:
though about full wipe i am using cwm recovery and before flashing the boot.img i did select two option
1.wipe data\clear cache
2.Wipe casch partition
those are the only two options i saw in recovery though there are more option in advanced menu but didnt touch those
summery of what i did:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
again in recovery selected wipe data and wipe cash partition option
installed arhd from recovery(no tweaks selected and also selected data wipe in AROMA)
rebooted to arhd
so now what? did i do a full wipe??? i dont think i did as all music and game data is still in my storage ??? also did i had to SELECT THE battery stats clear CWM???
and just another question why cant i install any of the game apks that i installed easily when i was in stock ics????
You don't need to wipe data so many times... You only have to do it once, either in Aroma installer or through recovery... Also go to advanced>wipe dalvic n cache
Full wipe means your /system /cache and dalvic cache are wiped clean... the user sd card isn't touched. So none of your pics, videos get deleted!
Even your android folder is intact, so if you have downloaded large game data, no need to download it again, just install the apk and your good to go!
and finally about the apks, you have to go to settings and 'check' install apps from unknown sources! That will solve your problem I guess!

After wiping cache and dalvic from recovery, when the phone boots up.. it again creates the dalvic for the apps. That's why you get that message and there's no need to flash arhd now...

No, you flash TWRP 2631, then boot into the twrp then select advance then put a check for cache, davik cache and data, then swipe. Once done just flash your rom. I would copy the rom to the download folder on the internal storage (/sdcard/download/) before flash your new twrp.
Is 2.6.3.3 more reliable / stable in terms of making / restoring nandroids? I just got my new Note last week (p607t) and flashed xKat with TWRP at one point, restoring apps from (some with data to avoid re-entering account info or redoing complex settings...) I have had one problem however, when I was almost done restoring, I noticed that I was getting fc's, particularly with games that required an internet connection. I wiped dalvik and cache in TWRP, then hit fix permissions, which I think screwed everything up (maybe due to the bootloader / firmware base mismatch). Anyway, my most recent nandroid was with the fresh xKat install, but fixing permissions caused this weird "hot"-bootloop where it skipped the boot animation but start loading immediately after rebooting, but then freezing before all boot tasks had completed (ex. some optimizations on boot with Android Tuner Pro, FolderMount mounting folders, loading xposed modules...)
Not wanting to re-restore, I first just tried dirty-flashing the ROM again (only wiped dalvik and cache, but did something I hadn't tried before: in the wipe menu I hit "repair partition" for system and data, pre-flash). Luckily it worked and set everything straight... but just want to make sure, 2.6.3.3 is still recommended as the most stable version (in my experience, fixing permissions in recovery can be very hit or miss on any version)?
2 questions before I roll back my recovery, I think these "killer features" (totally serious, #2 has been huge since I got a couple of the newish flash drives with micro usb on one side and regular usb on the other) of TWRP were implemented in 2.6.3.3, but just want to make sure: can you 1) compress nandroids and 2) mount a USB OTG drive and flash from or backup to it? Thanks all, really loving my new Note (massive upgrade from my Note 8!)

I HAVE flashed 2631 for the qualcomm lte.
I've done or several times since you told me that's the best version.
IT WILL NOT BOOT INTO TWRP. it's a scrambled screen. That's all. No touch options. No check boxes. After a minute, tablet reboots itself. I am on stock firmware still. Rooted.
Maybe I should just try CWM. never had this much problems with twrp on any other device.

How about wipe cache/davikcache/data with your stock recovery (just reflash your stock recovery). After that let it boot up, then power down and flash twrp. Once done, don't boot up, boot back to twrp . Let me know how it goes.

When you unlock the bootloader it will wipe the device so dirty flashing is not in the equation.
If you are flashing CM then you dont need to root first but you will need to root after. (last I knew) Most roms these days dont come with root by default.

Yeah it will wipe it, but the system files are still there right? I was watching a video of someone installing a new ROM, and they deleted
Dalvik/ ART Cache
System
Data
Cache
Or am I wrong? Do I not need to wipe all those partitions before flashing? Really sorry for being a bother, fairly new to this.

That is what is called a clean flash. (always the best bet when flashing a rom rom and even suggested by all devs. You will be told that you can "dirty" flash (wiping only system and both caches) so your app data and settings stay after the flash but to be honest that is just being lazy as you will have to clean flash before you can post a bug report anyway, so why not do it from the start)
Yes when you unlock the bootloader the system will be fine. What the unlock does is pretty much a factory reset. So make sure to back up any pic, music or what ever.
