I just installed 3rdSense on my mytouch 3g slide, and it works great.
However, I can't add a google account. I can't access the market, and I can't get my contacts. I tried flashing gapps to this rom, and still won't do anything. This is probably such a noobish question haha.

Weird. There should've been an initial setup page for you so you can sign in. There's no need to flash gapps at all.

So I just got done installing fresh evo 3.1.0.1. I wiped everything 3 times and flashed the rom, radio, etc. Everything seems to be working except most of my downloads are missing in the market. Not a big deal, but when I try to download anything from them market it just continues to say "starting download" but it never starts. Can anyone here tell me why? Everything else works great including wifi tether. Thanks in advance for any help anyone has.
If you have 2 or more gmail accounts then use the other account...sounds stupid but works
Also if you put it [email protected] most cases ur gmail won't sync. Just do [email protected] hope this helps/fixes. Let us know.

After rewiping and reinstalling some of my apps were able to dl. Then it stopped working again. Rewipe reinstall, same thing. I eventually realized this was only happening after installing juice defender (not even using just installing). Wiped, reinstalled again without juice defender and now as far as I can tell everything is working again. Thanks for the support guys! This was my first time flashing roms and I was a bit nervous but it worked out.
Now my next task, can someone tell me how to configure an update server so I can use fresh updater??
you can use fresh updater for the rom as is to get themes working you go to the tweaks tab, hit menu and go to configuration.click theme update settings, thenmanage theme severs, hit menu and select update features theme servers from the very top. it should show you fresh patches, click it and then you can exit updater rerun ti and should beable to sync themes.

So I have now realized that my market dl's are still not working. Sometimes they do , sometimes they still just say "starting dl". If i leave it at the "starting download" screen and go to bed the downloads eventually go through and are done when I wake up. Any other ideas people? My downloads were always lightening fast with fresh 2.1.
I've flashed my HTC desired today with LeeDroid 2.3d on clockworkmod recovery. I do the full wipe before flashing.
Now the flashing is complete. When I first startup the fone, it ask me to add an account so I entering my Gmail account and got an error: Can't establish connection to server. I double checked the wifi and got the browser surfing web without any problem, so I guess the wifi connection is ok.
Then I googled, and use a trick to login to Gmail account through YouTube apps. It works out and I have my Gmail account now.
The problem is, when I open the market app, it keeps saying: "A server error occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen". I cleared the cache, reboot, reflash, and it still gets error.
Would you please help me to work out please. I can't installed any apps now

Try adding another gmail account, make one up, doesnt matter.
Add it in the accounts section, reboot and your market should work.

Thank you for your answer, but I already tried that. Not work
Im pretty sure its due to your Gmail account not being properly activated. I had the same problem when installing an older rom, had no connectivity as there was no 3G or WiFi and the Market place didnt work. The only way I know of to remove the standard account is with a "factory reset" or, wipe and reinstall the rom. I take it this was working correctly before you installed LeeDroId?

Yes everything was working correctly before I flashed Leedroid.
PS: I did a factory reset, and now I can add a Gmail account now. Thank you a lot!
I just flashed CM7 on my DHD and everything went just fine, I am flashing devices since the early days of Motorola Milestone. I was a huge fan of AOSP Roms on the Desire, so I finally made the decision to flash CM7.
I flashed gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip and all Gapps are there, but Gmail! I just dont get it, am I that stupid or is there anything important missing? I looked into the zip file and couldnt find gmail either?

gapps adon for cm7 its a ligth package.. do not contains gmail and if i´m not mistaken hasn´t google maps...
you must to download it

Once I flashed and booted back up and opened market I got requested to choose what I want to download and one of the options was Gmail app. I flashed the same gapps as you, that's odd.

Go to it with your phone and it should show up with the gmail app ready to download from the market.
Hello All, I've just flashed a custom rom (cyanogen mod 7) via the wonderful noob-proof videos hosted by linksloveandroid. Everything worked perfectly but now I don't have the android market on my phone. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Baab.

Thanks for that, I installed successfully but now I'm getting the message, 'Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server.' when I try to set up my google account. I cannot get to the settings in my phone until I've set it up. OOPS. I feel I'm so near to success, please HELP. Thanks again baab.

Yeah, just needed to skip initial sign-up procedure, should there be a gapps icon in my applications now? cos I can't find one. Sorry to be a pest, but nothing seems obvious anymore and theres no android market icon either, damn.

Hey wuts up all first on new here so I wanted to say hi and thanks for making such an awesome site possible! Anyways I'm having problems getting apps on the market like Google maps. It tells me my device is not compatible. I haven't done anything new from my knowledge. I'm running the cm7.2 nightly from xjackofall. It only happened with some apps. Can anyone help.
Try flashing the gapps.apk that can be found Here!
That should sort it out for you. Make sure you uninstall all the current google apps you have downloaded, such as google voice, maps, g+, gtalk and so on.

thanks ill try that once i unbrick my my phone. i flashed a pc36img that i though would downgrade my hboot so i could get s off instead it locked bootloader and bricked it. ive unlocked boot loader again but it still wont let me into the recovery. any suggestions?

Well did you wipe everything before you flashed? I think the way you are wiping is not correct. Before you flash gapps u must full wipe, wipe dalvick cache and wipe cache. Then flash gapps. Also helps to be flashing on a fresh rom that doesn't have gapps included.

So I wiped everything and started with a new rom. Everything worked great for a day for two then I went to download something from the market that same damn error popped up again. From what I understand the market can tell what type of device you are using is it possible that the data it is trying to access is corrupt in some way? If so what could be causing it to become corrupted. Granted I could be wrong about how market works I'm still learning.
Try going into apps and clearing data and cache.
Its working fine now and I did nothing. Idk my phones been acting crazy lately. It turns thing off and on by itself wifi 4g and mobile connectivity work intermittently. Lately when I turn my phone on the mobile network is off. right now the onlything working network wise is 3g so I have no idea what's going on.

First try wiping cache, dalvic cache and clear the market data restart and see if that fixes it. If that didn't work then you will probably have to do what ihugyou said and do a full wipe and reinstall gapps.
Have u changed your screen resolution? If so you can get this error.
