why are roms updated everyday but seems less effort to exploit froyo. Com'on guys lets get to work.....

I hope you never get your phone rooted or you brick it trying to do it. You might be the most useless tool i've seen on this board to date.

xda-developers is a community. A great community at that. People's hard work and collaboration produce great things.
Instead of crying and instructing others to "get to work", Why don't you help out and contribute to this community and offer some value so others can prosper from it too?

Beggars can't be choosers. Either root it yourself or STFU! Besides, Gingerbread will be out in a month or 2. It will be a remake of Android where Froyo is just an update of Eclair.

I'm not really sure what you mean: I think most of the current ROM's are based on FroYo.

I think he means root froyo on a phone that wasn't previously rooted before you applied froyo. I assume he's one of those that just couldn't wait a couple hours for the rooted version of froyo, and applied the OTA update thinking it would only be a few days until Froyo was rooted, despite numerous warnings to not apply the unrooted version.

Wow sorry guys I was just being silly ..... now that I'm reading my own post. but any*hoo,, I salute all the developers. I got and still get help from the forum so don't take offense. besides I'm on fresh"s ROM now that I down graded thanks to this forum as always !!

Ics asop possible?

Hope this is right area..
Is anyone working on ics asop for our phone? I wish I knew how to do a ROM... I honestly have no clue where to start. I'm sure I could get source and compile but there has to be more than that lol..

There is a thread in general discussing this very thing. But no, this being a question should be in qna or general..

The reason I posted here was because I am willing to help out with anything I can to get this accomplished. Sorry.. I know how to do Android apps... But never attempted a ROM..

Since you are a developer may be you can contact jerdog he is the moderator..regarding ICS I think they are building a base so when Samsung releases the code, or leaks rom , they can build roms faster...there are two parts as far as i understand one is kernel development and one is rom and ril etc..SteadyHawkin is working on kernel and Viperboy is working on the other part i think, there are other developers too like Calkulin,Phantom etc I am not listing everyone...but you can talk to them about your past experience and may be they can let you know how you can be a part of their development team,,I am not a developer so can not tell you more...But I will tell you they are all very smart and good guys..

just got the Nexus 4g for verizon and want to know which ROMs are the best with battery and performance wise. thanks!!

there are at least 5 threads a day saying "what is the best rom"
there are no best roms since every phone is different. technically, stock is the best rom because it works.
to sum it up, GO TRY ALL THE ROMS!

It's generally not a good idea to ask questions such as "what is the best ROM?" or "what is the best kernel?". It's just the same as asking "what is the best food?"
Everyone has their definition on "the best". For me, I'm using Paranoid Android because it offers something that most ROMs don't.
A more valid question would be, "what's your favorite ROM?" or "what ROM are you using?"

There is no best ROM. They're all the best depending on who you ask and what that individuals personal taste dictates.

Best rom. You find this phrase in every thread. I just don't like these types of comments. They are simply lies. The best rom is the one you like and you don't need to say loud.
Just say Thanks to the devs.

At least with the gnex people have lots of ROMs to argue uselessly about. Many phones only have the ROM they came with, and don't even get CWM to back it up with. One of the many reasons I'm glad to own a gnex.

lol I'd take that challenge, I've got blackbean flashed with trinity and I am loving it, plus I've got one of those insane pulley arm working out things like Stallone had installed in his 18 wheeler on perhaps the greatest movie ever made "Over the Top"

The best rom is the one thats not built yet.. Everyone is diff with diff tastes,, So you will get a million diff answers to that question.. stock rom is nice. or BAMF or paranoid etc.. just try them all and find one that fits you..

I would like to ask XDA and its crew for a new section thats for the SPH-L710T Tri-band model. Yes there are some great threads on the model but when clicking on the SPRINT Galaxy S3 its mainly for the SPH-L710 model. I really would love to see the Tri-band have its own section. Not just a thread or two with everything thrown in it. It can get some what confusing. Alot of people are getting the Tri-band models and I would love to see its own section as a whole not just 2 main threads and everything thrown in it. Im sure other XDA members would appreciate it also. This is just a question/thought to please think about adding a SPH-L710T section...... PLEASE AND THANK YOU The more feedback from other members with this model might help. Leave your thoughts about this please to see if we can get it going. Just some food for thought. Either way I love this community and respect everything about it and everyone in it! no matter what comes from this

As someone using a Boost variant, and apparently going to have a hard time doing anything with it (especially with something like putting it on Ting), I'm putting my vote in on this.
