QUICK UPDATE:
Installing chainfire3d and using their "nvidia shader driver" fixes alot of games e.g. Angry Birds! (thanks to scottcom who sent me the tip via pm!)
This is a very simple ICS build using the Andromadus repo + Google AOSP code (rather than CM). This is just a quick update because we got the hw accel hack working
WORKING:
HW Accel (hack version i.e. not natively)
WiFi (TAKES TIME TOTURN ON)
Data
Calls
Superuser
Full Keyboard/Orientation
Audio
Basic ICS
Bluetooth
NOT WORKING:
GPS
Full Accel
etc.
NOT TESTED:
SD Card
FM Radio

HOW TO BUILD ICS FOR YOURSELF!
Code:
mkdir android
cd android
repo init -u git://github.com/Andromadus/android.git
repo sync
then you can:
Code:
. build/envsetup.sh
lunch

make -j[NUM OF CORES x2] otapackage
I'll probably flash this ROM as a DD when it has 3G or real HW acceleration working, whichever comes first GJ so far though, I'll probably give it a whirl to see how it is later tonight, compare it to the port maybe in terms of speed and such
First off, here's how I flashed:
1. Superwipe
2. Flashed Rom
3. Flashed Odie kernel
4. Flashed gapps
5. fixed permissions
It booted really fast and looks absolutely clean. I immediately connected to data, but not wifi - even though the connection is strong here. My data says 3G, but could be HSPA, and I jumped on the browser just to double check. It worked.
Things I noticed:
Scrolling is choppy, but I know that's easily fixed.
The market would not download (as expected), so I ran the fix via adb. When I tried Market again, it froze the phone and I had to do a battery pull.
The home button is not working so well. Takes 3-4 pushes to get it to work, it's easier to just to use the back button.
Didn't get a chance to look at much else after the phone froze.
I really appreciate you posting this up. I know you've been working hard and probably waiting for something that can be played with, and you got that here. Thanks again, I 'll post more impressions in a bit.

I'd suggest installing setCPU or something similar to check those lockups, as there was a known(ish) issue in the port with Odie's kernel clocking too low (at 122 mhz) so if you could bump that up and also see what the upper end is? I'll probably do it myself eventually, and since I'm super lazy ill just pack the apks for titanium and setCPU into the app folder of the ROM itself and give it a whirl haha
My wifi works but the icon doesn't show up so its as if I have no connection. My home button is also bugged.
Edit: Also the gallery apo doesn't work and the messaging app seems to be missing

Rom runs good for an alpha
- The Homebutton ( i know this is known ) but it seems like its reacting like a back buttons sometimes.
- I often get a red border when tapping next in a menu or install in the market.
- SDcard works but no mass storage on pc
Edit 2: the : and ; are not located at the fn button but at the shift button.
So far i already like this better then de Desire S port
Edit: I have no messaging app, anybody else who hasn't?
Edit 3: I tried buttonremapper to try and remap the home button but no luck

Your home button was acting like a back button? Mine was just being unresponsive until about the third press. Interesting.
aside from that, did you notice if your handset got warm while running this rom? Mine did, and I forgot to mention it in my post.
Hey the key layout and keychar file have move_home wrong

I ran this rom for about 45 mins and had two lockups where I had to battery pull, first was upon signing into google and it goes to the wifi screen...locked up...rebooted signed in fine and played around for a bit...yea no messaging app and then I noticed it syncd emails and upon c hecking gmail from the notification bar it locked up in gmail..I then restored to cm7...data worked though tmobile usa

No not having problems with it being to warm. Running it now since my post and still no problems except the usuals.
And about the homebutton, it also looks app related. For example in whatsapp it just does nothing, but in the browser it reacts as a back button.
Seems like someone in the desire s port thread fixed the home button. But i found something new with the hw kayboard. Capital d doesn't work.

Hey, i am going to maintain here a list of all thing which can be pressed and trigger some events in special occasions. I only know about two yet, thats where the community drops in. Post your find here and i will put it in this list.
Reboot
Hold Vol-Down, Trackpad and press Power
Reboots the system! Instant!
Prerequesite: Kernel must be loaded, so does not work the first few seconds after power on.
Warning:This does not unmount your sd-card or unlock any system files. Its basicly the same as removing the battery and should only be used in case your system crashed and does not react anymore. Think of it as a reset button on your PC, which you wouldnt press as long as windows runs fine.
Credits: myself
Bootloader/HBoot
Hold Vol-Down and press Power
Starts the phone and brings you to HBoot Menu
Prerequesite: Phone must be off for this to work
Notes: Navigate through HBoot/Fastboot with vol-up, vol-down and power as select button
Credits: myself
Bootloader during reboot
Hold Vol-Down and wait
Brings you to HBoot Menu
Prerequesite: Phone must be rebooting.
Notes: Make sure to press Vol-Down early enough. Must be pressed in before the boot-splash-image. Navigation, see above.
Credits: myself
Android safe mode
While phone boots, press and hold menu
starts up android in safe mode.only system apps are started, 3rd party apps are ignored
Prerequesite: None
Notes: You have too hold menu for a long time, from power on nearly until sim code dialogue
Depending on the rom you use, there is a small chance, it won't work, or the rom won't start.

To be honest, I hope to find some more combinations than these three. I wouldn't have started this thread if I had no hope, there is more to find.is Up to you people to add here.

Nice, the reboot trick is quite useful.
Thanks,
I know this one but I think it is common for Android. When your phone is off. Push menu button then power. Don't release menu until you see a message on bottom left of the screen. This mode is secure I.e. it loads only software of the ROM without 3rd applications.

By the way that reboot is not graceful. i.e. your sdcard is not properly dismounted and open files are not closed. It is the same as a battery pull, so I would only use if your phone it totally locked up ...

I would agree and would also suggest that the OP put a warning about this in the 1st post. This reboot method should really only be used as a last resort...
One more (probably well known) function is long-pressing the Menu key to bring up the soft keyboard. It used to work even on the homescreen, but it no longer does ever since Froyo. It will works elsewhere though. Really doesn't serve any purpose, though...
warning added. i am a bit surprised, there are not more combinations. seams we got them all now. wouldnt have started this topic, if i knew its only such few things.

Hi,
--JPU version--
i modded the Camera.apk a bit.
Changes:
-take Pictures with pressing power button.
-Take pictures even if your battery is at 2%
You can apply it with my SGS Tools app or push it manually to /system or with Muspelheim (http://softdevs.wordpress.com/muspelheim/)
If you are not on JPU or newer, choose Camera_old.apk !
See the code changes here
Changelog:
Version 4:
-based on jpu
-exif data correct again
Version 3:
-focus before taking picture when using power key (not sure about it)
Version 2.
-use the power key instead of volume keys
Version 1
-initial release

No everything works. Was my error, your app is working. The hacked cam is really nice.
Some suggestion for hacked gallery3d: enable autorotation at start and disable on exit.
Great work! Was searching earlier this week for an hack/app that would use the power button als capture button but could only find a very old thread about this on XDA.
Wondering why someone didn't attempted this before, it seems so natural. Samsung should have made this the default behavior in the first place, locking the camera with the power button caused pain when I accidentally pressed it the first time I got my SGS and it wouldn't respond..

Hey guys,
ICS-AOSP (Angel_666 release) Alpha3 Keyboard FIX!
1. How to install:
- Flash Alpha3 ZIP using CWM
- Flash this ZIP using CWM over Alpha3 (also works over Alpha3 + root and/or wifi & market fix)
- Clear Dalvik cache!!!
- Reboot & Enjoy
2. Known issues:
- Occasional white artefact in system tray on boot. Goes away afterwards. Note that I will not even attempt to fix this!!! Don't ask!
- Does not work on any other ICS build EXCEPT ALPHA3 by Angel_666!!!
WARNING: Do not flash if you use 3G or GPRS!!! This patch will f#!$ up GSM!
Note that because of two reasons, I decided to create a separate thread for this fix:
1. Everyone started asking about fixes in main thread instead of letting the devs do their thing
2. I want everyone to find the fix fast, without having to look for page xxx in the long thread.
Regardless, I also want to prevent this CWM zip from turning into Alpha4!!
@ani55: you can also link this ZIP in the main thread, but we will answer questions here about this fix.
Hope you like it! Give thanks!!!!
Peace,
C.

Ok, so to try and keep the Development thread clean, I decided to start a thread on Bug Reports/Fixes for Nitsuj's Open Sense 4 Rom - HTC One V Port.
So far, here's what's working and what isn't working for those who haven't tried it yet... I haven't been through everything yet, but I've had a little while to test most of it:
Working:
Netflix (Video and Audio working fine)
Phone Calls (Mic and everything works perfectly!)
SMS (Text Messaging works fine)
Most of the standard Widgets working fine
Data (Most of the time - Not yet stable)
Clock and Alarm
Facebook
Twitter
PowerDown and Reboot
Audio (Pandora Radio - Audio Playback is steady, but data losses cause buffering issues)
Email (Notification and App)
Music (Playback works seemlessley)
Beats Audio Enhancement (Headset Only)
What's not working:
Softlights (Working on merging the XML files into the framework to test)
Camera (No App in the Rom - I did get the 3.6 Sense Camera merged in, but it FC's)
MMS (Need to change the APN's, they're set wrong)
Weather Animations (None appear when you unlock the screen)
USB Mounting (AutoMount doesn't work...)
Long Press Home Menu
WIFI (Not Working)
Haptic Feedback (Light, Very light responses...)
As I work through the Rom more each day, I'll keep the OP updated with issues and fixes as they happen! If you have any bugs to report, please post them here so we can collaborate on fixes to get this working perfectly!
AS IS, THIS ROM IS STABLE ENOUGH FOR A DD IMHO, exception to the camera and occasional data drops, this is a really functional piece of work! Hopefully, if we all collaborate together, we can make this as stable as the Sense 3.5 roms have been for us!!!
Thanks,
Rich!

Awesome. Thanks for getting this put together.
idk if this is a bug but when i was using the browser the menu button wouldnt pull up bookmarks, settings etc
WiFi also not working.
Haptic feedback also doesn't work
When I've tried to send Mms, I notice that data disappears (both the 3g icon and the actual data service). Toggling Airplane mode will restore data.
I've tried to change the Apns uisng the Apn shortcutt app, but using the standard Verizon Apns has not been working so far for me.
The Friendstream widget is not working correctly. Gives this message:
"You don't appear to be signed in to any social networks. Tap to sign in to a social network" When tapping on this message, the only option is to sign into flickr, even though I have setup both my twitter and facebook accounts.
For the most part, considering the newness of this rom, this is a great start!
Thanks to all involved!

I'm calling it a night tonight (pushing in a last test for a quick reboot menu and I'm going to have to wait till tomorrow to decompile the framework for the softkey lights). Any other issues, please keep posting! I'll check in tomorrow and get responses posted!

I'm not feeling it at all. My phone has an Otterbox on it, which may keep me from feeling it, but if it's that light then I'd consider it broken.
holding down the home button does not bring up the multitasking pop up.
I'm not sure but I don't think weather animations when you unlock the phone are a feature....I'm assuming that because there's no options to turn them on or off. There's only options for turn the weather sounds off/on and the feature doesn't work

Part of the UI... The Menu button shows on the bottom of the screen. There is also a menu button on the Top Right, usually... Sorta redundant IMO, but it's there...
Made This because i see the same question/bugs referenced in the cm thread over and over for each build so I figured id place them all here so people wont have to look. And will know its a problem to start with and to keep the general talk out of the original development forum/aid the developers with a plain list of bugs/workarounds.
Feel free to add anything im missing.
To enable developer options:
settings---) about ---) scoll to the bottom and tap build number like 8x
now power menu reboot options are there also as a safety feature

Keyboard/touch screen a little wonky try changing the hwoverlay settings in developer options works for some.. fixed in 1/3?
Call volume low:
The in call volume bug will continue to exist until the audio enhancements ( IE DUAL MIC) are finished and merged in. For now goto phone > settings and uncheck "Noise suppression". its not a fix but it helps.

Bluetooth A2DP :
bluetooth voice dial does not work in cm10 or cm10.1. It opens but cannot "hear" any commands.
Disable voice dial in "manage apps", then install "Bluetooth launch" from the play store. After this, set it to launch activity "com.Google.android.googlequicksearchbox.voicesear chactivity" under the "Google search" application.
Now connect your Bluetooth device, press the button you would normally use to initiate voice dial, and tap "Bluetooth launch" when prompted, then tap always use.
have to use the voice command button twice, but it works like a charm!

Hey all, any idea why when I try to play music or videos with sound the phone freezes hard? I have been having the issue on CM nightly 12-24, 29 and 30th. I'm sure there's just an app that needs data wiped.
Any help appreciated.

Hey all, found a solution:
Use "File Explorer" with root access, go into /system/build.prop - scroll down until you see lpa.decode=true and change it to false, save and close and reboot.
Seems to work for now, though I imagine any new nightlies will require doing this at least for a while until they fix it.

@haynesr07, did you do a complete wipe? several times even? Sometimes stuff can leak through from your last rom and mess with your settings in your new rom, try clearing everything a couple times (2 or 3 times per item) and flash again
Also if you restored any data, that might be it, I've seen weird problems when people do that...I don't think this issue is rom specific though or it wouldnt be stable enough to be released

This is the current build props i use. Leave out the Bootanimation one if you want to keep your boot animation. Do not edit buildprop if you have no experience. Look up the proper way to use them, Dreamlogix explainsto use rom toolbox above. Dont add all in. Check if value exists and change to the new value. If an entry is missing add it but dont assume its not there because double entries cause issues and if you mess up your build prop you might not boot. Have the rom file ready in case. One would need to dirty flash to get back to current install or a backup. If on a custom kernel after reinstalling rom, run kernel cleaner and reinstall kernel. Gapps will work on the dirty install without reinstalling them.
Use at your own risk i am not responsible for damages to ones phone. This is my build prop values i add or use not my actual build prop just the values and entries that i add or change.

Thanks i didn't remember inverted gapps you are right. I changed and added all of the values in the txt document i posted. They weren't for a fix, i always use them. Thats a list if the values i use.
Edit: most of them all add performance in some way. I didn't use any network build props so it could be more universal for other roms...

I confirmed this morning that ktoon kernel (12/29) breaks audio (pandora, google music, 8tracks, etc) while stock kernel is fine on 1/1 nightly (clean flashed). On stock kernel, BT audio (google music) will play ok for 10-20 secs and then start fading in and out at a faster playback speed. You can reset this by making a phone call, but then you get another 10-20 secs of good audio before it starts up again. Someone should mention this on the dev thread at some point.
Also: if you're having problems with stock 1/1 nightly...do a clean flash. all my problems went away.

Your welcome, ui should be smooth with those.
I am not using any network build props is what i mean. I didn't want to play with tt for now to ensure my network works fine. So that txt document has none in it either. It is a bunch of tweaks gathered but no real network adjustments (i didn't want to negatively effect my setup or others)
