[Q] Sort bookmarks in browser - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

It seems to me you cannot sort bookmarks in the browser or am I just missing something?

Sort?
In your dream...
I wish I could re-arrange...
Or have fast access while using Labs Quick Control...

If you've synced with Chrome, you can sort them within Chrome. Then your phones bookmarks will be sorted the same way.

Thanks. Will try that.

Errr ... how do you do that?
How to sync the bookmark with Chrome?
I think, first I need to login to Google using an account.
Then open Chrome web browser and manage all the bookmarks ...
Then?
Thanks.

Hm, it doesn't sync the browser anymore after setting up Chrome sync.

I configured it using this (german) turtorial:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/2322581-post1.html
Here's a quick translation:
1. Secure your Google Dashboard account is synced with your browser
2. Deactivate all running synchronizations (on Nexus and browser)
3. Go to https://www.google.com/dashboard/ and delete everything under Chrome Sync
4. Wait 3-4-5 minutes.
5. Configure a new sync within the browser and wait a few minutes till the information are back at your Dashboard
6. Re-enable the sync at your Nexus and everything should be working

Yes, works. Did that already before you posted this. Thanks.

I'd settle for just a list of bookmarks like CM 7 instead of the thumbnails.
Either that setting doesn't exist or I'm blind.

Is Facebook/ Twitter contacts sync fixed in Android 4.2?

Anyone can confirm this?

Facebook contacts must be fixed by Facebook so no.
And Twitter sync was removed by Twitter themselves. It was kinda useless in its final days anyway.

I was thinking that the problem was "katana" permissions missing from the contacs app. Am I wrong?

I see. Why then there is a sync option in settings?!

Are you right? Yes and no...
Facebook proccess had a privilege that allowed it to work with sync in a different manner, so, it was a one way sync, you can't share facebook contact information with other apps or edit that information in your agenda (i.e.: add extra info, change picture, etc). That privilege has long been revoked and, google says, if they want to do it, do it my way... Facebook wants to do its own way (so contact data is not exported)... End result is that everybody loses and we do not get Facebook sync, period. This won't ever be fixed, if Facebook could (perhaps their end usr agreement doesn't allow them to do it, not sure)/wanted to change, they could have already changed it, come on, this has ben an issue since gingerbread mid life versions...
So, do not expect anything from Google or from Facebook, if that ever comes, great, but evidence shows that it is very unlikely to happen...

[Q] CM10.1 Stock Browser

Does anyone know if the stock CM10.1 browser is able to sync with my Google Chrome desktop bookmarks? I've tried to search it up, but have been unable to find any information regarding it. Chrome for Android isn't as smooth as I'd like it to be.

Nope. Get CMarks from the Play Store, awesome app.

Well actually, as you posted, I was just able to get my bookmarks to sync without any external applications. I had to remove encryption to my bookmarks to allow syncing of bookmarks.

How to sync google bookmarks with stock browser??

I can't for the life of me figure out how to sync my bookmarks with the stock browser. I just to to ut rather easily on my s3. Any ideas?

Im in the same boat as well. In for answers.
Do you mean Chrome bookmarks? You have to sign-in with your Google account and make sure Auto Sync and Sync Internet/Bookmarks is on under Accounts.

There isn't an option for syncing bookmarks, that's where I remember it being on the S3 but it's not on my s4. Stock browser not chrome

I have the same issue! I rather like the stock browser, so I'd love to have all my bookmarks sync with my gmail account.
In my s3 stock browser automatically login to my google account and sync all my bookmarks and everything else, now samsung wants us to use this useless scloud and now we haven't sync with syock browser in s4... is there any way to have this working out? The stock browser is far the best to me.

I aslso love the stock browser best, never found a way to sync google bookmarks. So i saved my bookmarks to my Samsung account and started syncing from there. Problem is that when i flash a new rom and sync my bookmarks, some if not most are missing. I don't even have that many, just like 6 or 7

Well that's another way, but we should be able to sync it also with Google like before. I had a look into many xml and features and compared it to s3 files, but nothing...

This sucks... I hate Chrome. Is it the fact that Google is trying hard to push Chome on us?

Well, looks like Samsung is trying to push the Samsung cloud service, Samsung backup, Samsung... I don't even see why we have Samsung apps if we have play store, and books, music...

I'm working on this. Had same problem with old phone. Got a half ass solution then. Maybe better luck with this one.
All my bookmarks sync just fine in Chrome, still it's not my browser of choice.

So today I was going to write an email and noticed that email couldn't be opened via Pen Window... Are there any third party email apps that work w/ pen window? Or way to get the stock one working without root?
Thanks
