[Help] Urgent SGS2-T989 Problem - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

This morning my phone was running fine but since I had a problem with connecting it to the computer I decided to flash the Unroot rom. I had CM7 and synergy kernel installed and i forgot to wipe the phone before flashing. Now, when i try to start the phone, the boot screen shows "Synergy Kernel" and then goes black for a good 1-2 minutes and then proceeds to a popup that says "Sorry! Process system is not responding" and shows an option of "Force Close" or "Wait." The screen freezes and I cannot choose either.
I also tried going into recovery but it only shows
1. Reboot
2. Install from SD
3. Wipe/Factory Reset
4. Wipe cache.
I tried rebooting, Factory reset and cache wipe only to get the same outcome. I recently acquired this phone and I googled all possible methods to fix it with no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the factory firmware that includes kernel, recovery, radio, system, and will get the phone back to "out of the box new again." http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350360

Look at the second sticky "index check here first" thread and in the how to section there is a link for how to go back to stock. Instructions and links to what you need.

Next time you just enter to recovery and restore from any backup.
I am pretty sure this problem comes from flashing sinergy kernel without take precauntions mentioned in kernel post into account.
Be carefully next time...

[q] need help!!

Not sure if this is the right section or not but i need maddd help.
OK everytime i try these one click root and whatnot and convert to ext4, i go to flash a custom rom or kernal and it never works...it always says the same thing no matter what it is... "error in (name of rom) in sd card...."getprop" error code 7 installation aborted" something to that effect. i install bonsai 3.0.1 for example and when it reboots it goes to samsung, then goes black and just vibrates...doesnt do anyhting...im assuming its force closing....im i supposed to wait on this black screen for awhile or it is force closing? please can someone help or advice because ive followed directions to a T and nothing works for me...its rediculous...i have to keep odin back to stock and update.zip to eb13 and try all over again. even when i try to restore the "before ext4...." it never works...just force closes or hangs on black screen as well and vibrates randomly.
Moved to Q&A. Did you wipe before going to Bonsai? Because you're not supposed to.
No i did not wipe...i run the root, wait for it to finish. 3 buttom recovery it let it do its thing....then after it auto goes back to recovery and i go straight to install update from zip....click on the bonsai3.0.1 and let it do its thing...within about 8 seconds...it fails and says something abouit error 7 get.prop.product...installation aborted....ive tried different roots...ive tried cwm recovery 2.5.5 and 3.0.6...nothing works. i even tried the other link just to have a root and new CWM 3.0.6 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897612) it did the same thing...i rooted, 3 button'd reset into clockwork, and selected the flash the fernel from the sd card, it says installation complete, and i reboot system, and it goes to samsung screen, then black and vibrates...(forces closing i guess)

[Q] Encryption Unsuccessful -- Reset Android

OK I really did it. I was playing with the ICS leak and tried to connect to my corporate email. When prompted I accepted the device administrator restrictions (Must have Pin lock, Must Encrypt, 10 password failures until wipe)
I plugged in my phone, went to lunch and when I came back the phone was locked up (could not even get it to stop sleeping). Finally pulled the battery and thats when the trouble started.
Now when ever I boot into an ICS rom I get a message saying "Encryption Unsuccessful -- Reset Android." Depending on which Rom I try, the reset button either does nothing or causes the phone to reboot.
Its worth noting that I had run several ICS leaks previously and even used the Device Encryption / Decryption several times. The only thing different this time is the Phone locked durring Encryption
For the mean time I have successfully gone back to Gingerbread and the device works fine. Every time I get the itch to try a ICS rom though the Encryption Unsuccessful message returns.
Here is what I have tried to fix it
I have encrypted / decrypted 5 or 6 times on Gingerbread
I have used Super-Wipe to try to reset everything
I have formatted the internal SD Card
I have booted without the External SD Card
I have tried every flavor of ICS out there
I tried going back to stock Recovery to see if it would reset properly
I want to try using the recovery that came with the ICS leak to see if it can do a "Full device wipe" but I can't find an ODIN file to steal it from. The only one I can locate is in the One click installer. I haven't been able to figure out how to extract just the recovery Image from that.
I have also been following a similar thread on the Captivate Board but their issues seem to be caused from a bad sync with Windows.
I'm posting this thread hear to see if:
1. anyone else is facing this issue
2. If any of our development gurus have thoughts on how to debug / solve this
3. Because I miss Icecream Sandwich
Thanks for any help.
Mike
Try to format system data cache and emcc under CWM Mounts and storage. If that fails use odin to return to stock recovery, format under stock, use odin to go back to CWM Touch recovery, format everything agian, and then follow the instructions of the rom you want to flash, and you should be good to go.

The issue we are seeing under ICS roms is that if MTP mode is set rather then UMS and you connect your phone to a pc then your next reboot will display the Encryption error.
Was your phone set in MTP mode when you left for lunch ?

Then flash cwm back onto phone via odin and install this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426001&highlight=radio
Then flash my efs fix from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611796
Problem solved
Thank you you are my new best friend. For the record. What did the EFS fix do?

The reason u were getting the unsuccessful encryption message is because u had a corrupt efs, I should know, the same thing happened to. me. That fix basically resets your efs to OEM spec
samsung vibrant help
I have a friend with a Samsung vibrant t-mobile with the same issue...Do you have a fix for that??

[Q] Chainfire 3D brick :(

Hello guys, i need serious help with my Samsung Galaxy S3, I just rooted today, and everything was working fine.
I decided to download chainfire 3d, thought i'd enable some unstable games to run, but quite the opposite my phone is now BRICKED.
I tried re-flashing my rom with ODIN, but to no help, the phone remains bricked.
I read some tutorials how to flash using the 'transfer to sd card from PC' rom. But there is another problem..
My pc doens't recognize my phone completely(icon doesn't show in My computer - winows 732bit).
Now im stuck at the Samsung logo, with no other options but hope someone here can help.. ..
Ps; I tried cleaning the cache and dalvik cache from CW mode. Anything else im missing out??..
When you Odin did you wipe data / factory reset after or before? Usually when you Odin and didn't wipe data in recovery mode you will get stuck at the Samsung boot up. So try going back to recovery and do a factory reset /wipe data and see if it boots up pass samsung logo.

In fact i dont even know if I'm doing it correctly, i only flash one file, the one i ROOTED with. its in the PDA location. I will try to wipe before and after..
Edit: I used ODIN and then i wiped data/factory reset from CW, and still stuck at the boot logo
I also got this error on my PC, MTP USB device did not install correctly. I downloaded the drivers from the official t-mobile support page, so i don't think its the Pc's fault. .
Any ideas?

Doesn't work.
Should i try to format my /data, /sdcard, etc, from the CW menu?.
Is there a risk in doing that?, I dont mind losing my data as long i get the phone back running.
EDIT: I flashed Odin, and it seems to be working now, I'm only left to wait for the phone to pass the bootloop.
what I had forgotten was to flash the stock firmware after i do the CW mode. Lets hope for best, I'll edit this post if it works.
EDIT 2: IT WORKS!. I'd post links to the stock firmwares, but not sure if that is allowed on the site. Anyway just google galaxy s3 stock firmware download.

Help needed. Updated from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 and encountered problems

Hi all,
I had my gs6 rooted with 5.1.1, but recently something went wrong all the apps were crashing and sometimes the phone would reboot on its own. So I decided to upgrade firmware to 6.0.1. I downloaded the firmware G920PVPS4CPI3, and flashed with odin. It has been a while since I deal with this process so I may have missed something. First time it didn't work, a dead android with an exclamation point in a triangle appeared, then I got stuck in the Android Recovery. After a few tries, somehow it rebooted normally to the stock 6.0.1 firmware but the apps were crashing as well, got the random reboots, and couldn't make or receive phone calls. So I tried again, and got stuck... again... in Recovery (it says at the bottom dm-verity verification failed...). I can't get it to start normally. I tried wiping cache partition and data/factory reset... nothing. Please help.
Thanks!!
You may have had a bad download of the firmware. Use the version from my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
Check the MD5 of the download (I have a link to a free MD5 checker program included in the Original Post) against what shows on the Android File Host page.
Then try Odin again. Let us know what happens.

Hi, I tried the firmware on the link you provided and flashed through Odin 3.10.6, and now I'm stuck in recovery. I rebooted and the dead android with the yellow triangle appeared and went back to recovery. Same thing happens when I try to power off in recovery, it said Verifying DM Verity Hash Tree then after a while I think I saw a message saying dm verity verification failed but it disappeared quickly.. I did the wipe cache partition and data/factory reset and again didn't work. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Let the power drain completely until it shuts off. The charge it and try again and see if it loads. If you get stuck in Recovery again, try rebooting from there.
That is the stock TAR file, which should take you back to new phone status. If that doesn't work, you might have a hardware issue.

Hi,
I was able to do it by draining the battery, now I have 6.0.1. But I have a couple of issues...
1. Some apps stop working or they crash randomly... some of them don't even let me open them so I have to reboot. I tried deleting cache in recovery, didn't work.
2. When restarting in recovery, I got the message dm-verity verification failed.
3. When I download the OTA update and start the installation, it reboots and after a couple of seconds then the dead andriod with the triangle, and reboots... so it doesn't let me update.
Any suggestions?

[Q] LG G4 H811 Stuck in Recovery (TWRP) Loop

I was running the latest version of TWRP and a rooted version of the LG G6 port. Everything was stable and worked fine. So I was ready to give it back to its owner who I had modded it for. I went into the settings menu of the phone and did a standard factory reset to remove my account that was logged in so I could test the phone out before giving it to the owner. well when it finished resetting and rebooted, its been stuck in a boot loop ever since.
Tried just clearing both Dalvik Cache and Cache, to no avail. Tried Reflashing the rom and starting over. Still nothing. Tried flashing a different rom. Still nothing.
So what else can I try? and also if its the only thing I can do, rest it all the way back to stock factory everything. How do I do that on this phone. What program do I need and what files. and whats the steps to complete the process.
Thank you in advance for all help that is given
i factory reset in twrp and turned on developers options after first boot then reflashed twrp i always forget backup lol or delete it or use kdz you flashed before anyway i can help i will if you still need
if you have tried to flash the same custom rom or another is still not working, flashes with the program "lg up", you will need a kdz file, and the corresponding drivers. if with that you can not watch this tutorial before doing anything.
if you have a backup made with twrp, it flashes again.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/unbrick-lg-g4-brick-hs-usb-qdloader-t3542785
during this process you will have to disassemble the back of the phone, (plastic) you do not need to remove the motherboard completely from the phone, anyway if you can enter download mode try with lg up tool.
if you need help around here we are.
Well now in the process of trying to fix it. The phone bricked and will no longer turn on at all. Is there anyway to fix this ?

Can you get into download mode?
Also, it's possible you have been hit by the bootloop
