Anyone have this problem? No matter what I do, screen stays black. No vibrate, no samsung logo, no recovery, no download mode.
Battery is fully charged, all I did was reboot the phone and it turned off and stayed off. Pulled the battery and reinserted, still nothing.
Anyone? Help?
are you able to boot into CWR or Download mode for Odin?
if so then just flash a new ROM and full Wipe
I can't get to anything. Just stays black. When I plug it into my computer, it shows up as something called QHSUSB_DLOAD
Did a little research. I think you are straight up bricked. That sucks.
Did you have it rooted or anything? You might want to call samsung and get it replaced it fixed. You could always try a jig
what rom were you on?

It is a long story, started with wanting Photoshare App. After rooting using Odin got into all sort of process stopped error. Desperate, downloaded and tried to flash CM10 using CWM. All I got was CM logo circling endlessly for 30 minutes. Pulled the plug and now, I seem to have a brick, can't even boot to recovery or download mode. When I try to boot to downlad mode, the warning screen appears for just a second and goes away. When I try recovery mode Samsumg log appears and then blank.
Is there anything I can do at this point? I appreciate any help I can get.

Hm. if you boot up your phone are you stuck at the cm bootup? If you are im sorry bro you cant fix it for free by sending it to samsung. JTAG for 60 bucks or samsung for 60 bucks. Reason being that it shows that you have rooted and modded your device. If you were hardbricked and nothing would turn on at all you would be able to send it to samsung and get it fixed for free!
Well if it shows Download mode then it might be working, just not showing, if you see a blue ID:COM number in Odin its working. Try to flash a stock ROM in Odin while in Download mode and make sure its in PDA or you will brick. Check only Auto-Reboot and F. Reset time.
If it works congrats if not search this forum for a service called JTAG which repairs bricks.

A little update ...
I was able to get to download mode after many trys and got back to stock -- unrooted. I should have stopped when I was ahead, but I was feeling invincible after this feat of reviving the phone and that was really stupid.
I wanted to root and flash CM10 nightly. I followed the instructions from http://rootzwiki.com/topic/32486-gu...m10-nightlies-without-k-exec-updated-8-18-12/. After unlocking the bootloader step, I wanted to backup the stock ROM I had on the phone -- I don't know why I wanted to do that as I had just flashed the stock and didn't have anything customized. Anyway, when I clicked backup from CWM everything died, kaput, nothing. I have been desperately holding the power button, reovery combination of buttons, download mode combination, anything I can think of, the phone is giving me the total silent treatment, which BTW I am used from a more human source.
Let me know if there is anything I can do, perhaps stand on one leg and try switching it on perhaps. http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/redface.gif
Sorry for the dumb jokes, I am a little frustrated, but I am sure I will get over it.
Thanks for those who took interest to read my question and those who cared to respond, I appreciate it....
Cheers!
are you getting any signs of life with the phone plugged in with or without the battery in?

Best advice...take out the battery, leave for 1-2 hours, insert battery, try to access download, flash stock in odin, reboot, don't flash any more Jelly Bean roms. lol
I tried flashing the Zeus kernel using CWM, but I failed to realize the kernel was for the Verizon S3. When I restarted after flashing, it displayed the Samsung logo for a split second and then went to a black screen. The screen was on, but it only showed black. At this point I passed out, and when I woke up it was still on the black screen. I pulled the battery and tried to restart, and got the same black screen. Then I tried every way I know of (except using a jig) to get into download mode to no avail. Now when I turn it on, it vibrates once, flashes the logo, and then the screen shuts off and is useless. I think there's a solid chance I've ruined it this time, but if anybody has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Put the phone in dl mode. It's possible the screen will be black and you can't actually see it's in dl mode. Plug into your computer. Odin flash a stock Rom.
The fact that it's doing something means it is not completely ruined. It just may be harder to restore to working order.
Also, take a look at this thread

My brother-in-law's SG2 won't boot. All it will do is show the "Samsung Galaxy SII" logo, then show the battery charging. If unplugged, the blue LED faintly lights then the phone does nothing. When plugged in, it shows the battery at 100% but the OS still won't boot. I got it into download mode and Odin'ed Rwilco's stock ROM to try and restore the system. Odin showed that it "Passed" but the phone still won't boot. I even got it into recovery mode, and tried a factory/data reset, but no change.
I heard that the phone has had battery issues, and I tried the spinning it on the table trick. It doesn't spin at all, so I don't think it's bulging... but is it possible that if the battery is dead that the phone would not boot, even if plugged in? Or is the problem even greater?
Has anyone experienced anything like this before?
FWIW, he's on Sprint. (I'm a VZW user)
Nothing had been done to the phone (before he asked me to look at it )
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Have you flashed the matching/compatible kernel for that rom as well? It's been a while since I have worked on one of these phones, but I do remember having to flash the compatible rom and kernel separately from one another otherwise it would cause the phone to boot loop or freeze on boot. If you are running the stock recovery, you may try flashing a kernel with a custom recovery then from recovery use the option to reboot into system. I don't know how that would really make a difference but nothing to lose if nothing else is working.

If any one can help with any idea I would really appreciate it.
So I let my little brother play my s2 and he completely ran the battery out.
now I have left it on the charger over night, when i go to boot into recovery. You feel the phone vibrate then see the samsung for a split second, and if you keep holding the power you just feel the phone keep vibrating. The screen never turns back on. Now I know it works because i was able to boot recovery once, when i did that i just tried a full wipe and reboot. phone kept boot looping, so i pulled battery, but now i cant get into download mode or recovery.
Please help, or atleast let me know that its not fixable
thanks
You are supposed to let go of power after the first vibration. ?
Try downloading a stock ROM (.tar format, I believe) and flashing it, using ODIN. That worked for me when I bricked my SGH-T989.
I later had to install a new recovery, but you can play around and see what needs doing.
Now first of all, this isn't my main phone (wasn't even mine), but i still want to see if i can get it working to tinker with it.
So basically, when i try to turn the phone on it gets stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy A50" screen and doesn't get any further than that. Booting into recovery mode works... sometimes? and going into download mode only seems to work by going to recovery first.
Oddly though, the power (and volume?) buttons only seems to work when the phone is plugged in. If it's not, it doesn't respond to any button pressed at all. (The battery isn't dead, i left it on a charger for 7 hours and no change)
I've tried:
Factory resetting through recovery
Flashing stock firmware through odin (success, but doesn't do anything it seems)
Flashing a custom recovery (doesn't succeed because bootloader is locked)
Letting it die completely and then charging it
Charging it for a while
The bootloader is locked, and this was not the result of a failed flash. Because of this i feel like the chance of recovering this are pretty slim.
Does anyone have any ideas on what i could do?
