[Q] Kernels for Build 4.54.651.1 EVO 4G - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am currently using the most recent Sprint Rom, deodexed and rooted. The battery life is not to great and I'd like to try a new kernel with SBC. Are there any developed for this rom? Recommendations?

Ok I'm assuming you're running 2.1; the best battery life I had with Eclair was when running the Xtreme kernel (was using it with Syndicate ROM).
I'm on Syndicate right now, but I get better battery life with Phoenix kernel over Xtreme.
Thanks I'll try both and yes I'm on 2.1

AOSP 2.3 Kernels?

Does anyone know of any kernels that work for 2.3 AOSP roms? Specifically I am hoping for one geared towards battery life. I am on UD 3.0.0 RC and I love it, but battery life is nothing like Mik on Netarchy.

Personally I've had terrible luck with any suv kernels on my evo so havs has been better for me.
There are NO kernels out there for 2.3 sense roms only 2.2.
Right now I'm running Gingersense with the latest netarchy more havs sbc kernel. For some reason though I can't download from the market anymore... still trying to figure that one out.
That being said Gingersense is still awesome!
I have had the best luck and battery life with HAVS the best for me was Tiamat_Evo v3.3.8. I would also suggest in using the Kernel Manager app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030486.

What is a good kernel for end of days rom?

I'm running end of days and I've never had the best luck with custom kernels and aosp roms.
Are any end of days users using a custom kernel and it's stable? If so, which one?

It's going to differ at least a little between you and another user.. You won't find the best kernel for you until you test different kernels.
Look at Tiamat and SavagedZen. Figure out which works best for you.

What Kernel should I use?

I just loaded MikG v3.11 - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 + 3.0 what kernel works the best with this ROM?
Go with Anthrax or Underworld.
I had really good experience with lionfish 1.8 SBC aggressive
Classic kernel is great

Any recommendations for a kernel that works with MikG and has HDMI mirroring? I have heard ChopSuey and PoonSense work but have not had the chance to try them yet.
Underworld 0.6 SBC but they have a version 0.7

i'd start flashing and see what works best in this order i'd go anthrax underworld lionfish
I flashed Chop Suey 9.2.7 and the HDMI works great.

Rockin the stock kernel with 18+ hours of battery life with moderate use. Everything runs smooth and without issues.
The ROM is optimized out of the gate so no need to flash another kernel.
