i always just use the volume buttons works for me
Press one of the volume buttons, then press on the icon next to the bar.
You mean from the Notification Menu when you say "drop down menu"? Try using Notification Toggle.

that works thanks
But this is still very inconvenient. Is there a quick way to do it from the lock screen without actually unlocking the phone?
Hold the power button for a couple of seconds, you should get a menu called Phone Options with silence, airplane and power off as options.

press the volume button down until it goes to silent, should be the last setting just after vibrate
or go to your display and sound options and just disable vibration.

In JPC this function is missing. You can only choose it in the settings.
Just click the powerbutton a second or two, then you can choose it from a little menu.

Thanks should have known
Is it possible to make it so pressing the power button when on the phone would hang up the call? It would be much more convenient to hang up this way then having to wait for the screen to light up, press the end button, and then hit the power button to darken the screen.

Do you have to do this while in a call? In the normal settings panel, I don't have anything under Accessibility. I was prompted to install Talkback, but that didn't add anything like a Power Button Ends Call option.
I don't believe that Sense has the option for power button controls, the other poster must be using an AOSP ROM, which does allow for you to tick the option to end a call using the power button.

Hi all,
I just moved from the iPhone and getting my feet wet with Abdroid. Love it so far. The iPhone had a mute switch. Is there and easy switch off for volume without having to lover the volume manually or go into setup up and switch to just vibrate? I have read the manual but can't find anything on muting.
Thanks
There isn't no, but you have a profile widget you can add to your homescreen to change

from the lockscreen just push and hold the volume down button until the volume indicator shows the speaker with a cross next to it. from here you can also go to vibrate mode, just push volume down once more (when on silent)
you can tap the vol down button once a and then press the icon on the left of the slider and it will rotate throught mute vib and loud.

Pull down notification bar while still locked and toggle sound button or hold it for sound options.
Volume down doesn't work on the Note II
I pull down notification bar to mute the alert but that means I have to take the phone out of my pocket, press any key and then pull down notification bar.
Isn't there a mod that makes you press any hard button to mute an ongoing alert?
Since the 5.01 update on my Verizon Note 4, I can't find the volume options on the lock screen. I used to be able to hold the power button and get options to mute/vibrate/sound.
How do I get this back or what are the other options?

You have to use the pull down menu from the status bar and toggle through the sound options.
Hope this helps.
I miss that feature of Kit Kat too but now I'm getting use to this alternative.

The pull down menu only shows current notifications in the locked screen. There are no volume options.
I do get this option when it is unlocked. It took a little while to find it.
The physical volume button doesn't even work in the lock screen.

I can toggle from lock screen. I just pull down from the notification area and press the sound toggle.
Hmmm. Are you with Verizon? I wonder why I don't have this option?

long pressing the Volume Toggle brings up the volume controls.

I'm on Verizon. Don't know if it makes a difference but I had to sick it up and do a factory reset after the upgrade because of so many issues. Mainly the terrible battery drain.
