[Q] A little assistance would be appreciated! - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all! So, a couple weeks back, I flashed a BETA ICS ROM onto my Inspire (Desire HD). Being my normal ignorant, and noob-like self, I completely ignored the fact that the thread said "DEVS ONLY!"
Well, flash forward a couple of weeks, and my Inspire is all but bricked. The ROM did not have mobile data yet, did not have a connection to the micro-SD card, and it was not touchscreen ready yet. I have tried ADB, but to no-avail, my file system knowledge and overall lack of knowledge put me quite a predicament.
I have flashed many ROMs before, but I sincerely messed up big time on this try. So, would any of you be able to help me find a cure for this important issue? Is the fix really simple and easy, and I am just a bonehead?
Thanks!

Not sure what your issue is. You never clearly stated. Does the phone not boot? Stuck in the splash screen? you want to flash a new rom?

Oops, sorry! My problem is that my phone is stuck on the developer ROM, and I would like to fix it somehow. So, yes, I would like to get another ROM, but I have to remove this one first. The phone itself works great, but with no wi-fi, mobile data, and no touchscreen support, it is hard to live with.

Your nowhere near bricked. Going to ask the basics. Did you make a backup before hand? Did you have another rom on your SD card.?
If you answered yes to either then simply boot into recovery and flash the rom/ backup. You mentioned flashing roms before so I left out the steps.
If you answered no then you have two options. You can mount the SD card from within cwr. So download a rom on your PC. Mount the sd card, then flash away. Or take out SD card and use an adapter/other phone to transfer a new rom.

I was not smart enough to back up onto a computer, but I did back up onto the SD card. The only problem with this is that the ROM, and my computer, will not recognize that there is in fact an SD card inserted into the phone. So, in other words, it's like not having an SD card at all.

CWR will still read the sd card. Trust me. boot into CWR and restore your backup. And you be good as gold

Thanks! But, what exactly does CWR stand for? Haha, I'm not the most knowledgeable on the topic of Android, but is it like Clock Work Mod?

yeah. CWR stands clockworkmod recovery

Okay, in that case, I'm not sure. All of my old files (CM7, CWM, etc.) were on the SD card, and it is unreachable. I have tried to boot into CWR, but it just gives me a black screen. I feel like this thing is just unable to be fixed!

its fixable. just the black screen in CWR is an obstacle. worst case is you have flash an ruu and start over with the whole rooting. i remember reading about the black screen in CWR give me a few minutes to find them to see what to do next

Okay! Thanks a bunch!

Pull the battery and put back in
Press and hold vol-down
Press power and bootloader will start
Select recovery using vol keys and press power
If you have a backup (you really should, and and if you don't consider this experience a learning one), restore it by selecting the backup / restore option
If no backup, goto mounts and select as storage, plug usb into pc and copy your favorite Rom over, then select back and flash from zip, select the zip and you should all be back up
But please, please I'm all for people learning and experimenting, but might be worth reading some of the basics guides and notes on roms before flashing the next one. Oh, and if I forgot to mention.... Do a backup before flashing ANYTHING saves heartache later, the enjoy

ok i couldn't find the specific thread i was looking for. i remember it being stickied but couldnt find it. did find something that might be usefull but it depends on if you have access to an sd card adapter or other phone to transfer the file needed to reflash CWR. If not i would suggest trying to see if flashing an ruu to help.
edit- I'm confused now. thought you said that when you boot into recovery all you get is a black screen?

[Q] Any way to fix this? (stuck in bootloader screen)

Was messing around with Kernel Manager Lite and tried to flash some kernel that looked interesting (didn't do any research or anything to see if it was compatible like the giant noob I am) but it said something about not having enough space and to reboot after I had more. I went and moved some apps to my SD card, rebooted, and now I'm stuck in that bootloader screen (fastboot, recovery, etc.). Phone isn't recognized by my computer.
Any way my idiotic self can fix this? Or am I screwed?
Running RC 4 of CyanogenMod.
Can you boot into recovery? If so, do you have any ROMs saved on your SD card? or possibly a nandroid of your current (pre-kernel testing) rom?

well if u can go to bootloader ur not bricked so if u like u can just run a pc36img
in bootloader to go to stock
do you have a micro sd card reader that your card can be inserted into so that it can be read from your computer without being in your phone?

If your bootloader still shows Ship S off, then try reflashing your recovery. I'm not sure whiich one you're used to using, but I'm going to attatch a PC36IMG of amon ra v2.3. Put the file on the main directory of your sd card, then boot to your bootloader. WHen it asks you to update, say yes. Once it finishes, you should then have recovery back and be able to start fresh with a new rom. BTW, if you were using clockwork before, do not attempt to restore any backups made with clockwork while you're using amon ra. It'll break a lot of stuff most likely.
If you're bootloader for whatever reason shows Ship S on, then I would run an RUU and flash back to stock, then start again.
But if his phone isn't recognized by his computer, and he doesn't have a micro sd card converter for his computer...he can't exactly put that pc36img on his card...

Well, you're right. I guess I forget that every one might not have one. I have like 5 laying around here for some reason, haha. They're everywhere. If he had another phone with an sd card slot, he could swap the card into that other phone for a sec to move the file.
And sorry if I missed it, but does fastboot recognize the device?
TO the OP:
Edit: do you see anything in your device manager when you select 'hboot' usb from the bootloader screen?
Ah, we're good, booting into a ROM now. Thankfully I just got a card reader a couple days before this happened!
Thank you all for the help! Would have been stuck like this if it hadn't been for you guys.
I too have a few laying around, mostly from old phones (using one from my old samsung instinct as we speak lol), but from what he said, his phone isn't reconized at all by his computer.
You're welcome, even though, it was probably k2buckley's advice that fixed you.
Happy Flashing
One last thing, I can restore my apps right?

as long as you backed them up with Titanium backup...which backs them up to your SD card, you should be able to restore them...if you haven't done that...nor have you made a recent nandroid backup, then you'll have to re-download those apps...
I'm having the exact same problem sorta. I got careless and deleted all my old recovery backups but one and I got what I deserved when I rebooted. The rom i was using didn't flash and now when i select recovery from bootloader screen it just kicks me right back to start. I've got titanium bu for my apps, but wtf cares if I can get back going again. This is first time i've really got in problem. I've always used clockworkmod as recovery because it was easy and in rom manager when I started. Ok so I can put pc36img on my sd card and then reboot correct? I have more than one sd card, so any tips for best way to go about this like that file and anything else? And where is best place to get a zip file that is best to use? Rooted with unrevoked, clockworkmod and 0003 is phone model. I've got a blank 8g card, 16 and 32 both have stuff on them. Music, rom zips etc.....any help would be greatly appreciated i'm in deep water and just learned how to swim lol.
Put the file pc36img.zip on the root of your sd card...reboot into bootloader...when it asks if you'd like to update, say yes...this will flash amon_ra recovery.
Then flash a new rom.
Id suggest using amon_ra, as I've never had a problem with it...not to bash on clockwork, but I see more people have problems clockwork not functioning correctly...
It's nice to use with rom manager, but convenience can come at a cost...

Yeah I can tell that almost all the advanced guys use that. I been meaning to switch anyways just kinda like cleaning the gutters on your house. Easy to put off until it causes problem. I been using clockwordmod simply cause that was most simple fix when I first rooted cpl months ago. Now that i've flashed several roms and kernals etc i feel comfortable with trying. This is only time i've been like uh oh wtf do i do now? Lol you would think that doing a backup and making sure they are secure would not be such secret! I mean i've only been warned 1000 times yall really meant that huh....lesson learned and no more short cuts i swear if i can just get out this jam. thanks.....gonna go download rename and put it on sd card.
Live and learn brother lol.
Good luck, keep me posted

And from what it looks like, you shouldn't have to rename the file that buck put up in the first page...
Just put that file, as is, on that root of your sd card...boot into the bootloader (not recovery) and follow the on screen prompts to update from that file

Is this guide the right one for my phone.

I have already Unlocked my phone, all went very well and very easy to do, I am now looking into "rooting" it, I found this guide and was wondering, is this the right guide for my phone.
http://onexroot.com/one-x-root/how-to-root-one-x/
I only got mine a few days ago, it is on the latest firmware, as far as I know, and after 10 mins of phone getting switched on, I had an update to do, that all completed to.
Would appreciate any and all help, I know you guys do a fantastic job and it's great to see the combination of knowledge sharing and working along side "hackers"/developers and even sometimes the mighty manufacturers, to bring the best functionality and usability.

Well since your already unlocked, just head here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
and get the latest clockworkmod recovery and fastboot flash it. once that is done boot into recovery & make a backup. now on to the fun stuff. find the Rom you like & copy it to your internal storage. make sure to read the roms developers main few posts. they all will have there own instructions on how to flash there rom properly. Now keep in mind that all roms on here are pre rooted so no need to "root" your device before hand. just boot to fastboot, flash the roms boot.img. then to recovery, perform a full wipe (data,& system)and flash the rom. once booted your done set it up & enjoy
p.s. here is a great sticky to read thru, it has every link your ever gonna need to read up on the device & how to properly do everything if your unsure of what your doing. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603905
Hi there, thanks for the quick reply, when I do the cwm, will this wipe my sdcard. Is there an exact guide on how to do the cwm or any precautions to do before hand.
What are the commands for accessing phone to do this please, I know it's "cd " something.
Just don't want to brick it, this thing is a beautiful thing.
Okies, I have installed cwm via using the auto installer, it works a dream, "Props to dev for this" I am now doing a backup, will this backup everything on phone and sd card or just the phone internal/rom, if not is there a tool, that backs up everything, internal and sd storage to one image, that can be re flashed, if things go wrong.
As the recovery image gets stored on phone, I have made 2 backups and would like to delete 1 of them, how is this done. Many thanks in advance

Can not boot into recovery after rom manager updated my CM9

Hello, Wondering if anyone here could help out. I recently went from MIUI US ICS rom to CM9 and love the latest build of CM9. I had not tried a backup of the rom after flashing to CM9, but noticed that Rom Manager updated at play.google.com and then I decided maybe I should make a backup of CM9 sine it was shaping up pretty nicely as I've been setting up apps, etc.
Well, I can't get into recovery. I can boot into the bootloader and it shows Revolutionary as the boot loader and I can get into Fastboot but if I toggle down to recovery and press the power button it just jumps back to the bootlloader screen. I can't get past this.
I'm tempted to put a different recovery on here now as the rom manager didn't work out even though it came stock on my CM9.
But before I risk bricking my phone, I was hoping someone here could back me up a bit and give me some input. I really don't know that much about this.. I can root phones, install recoveries, etc., but if something goes wrong I'm not knowledgeable enough to actually understand what went wrong and how to fix. I am guessing that recovery is not actually installed here and that Revolutaionary (what I used long ago to get root) wasn't planned to be the boot here.
Help please anyone!!!!!

It's been a while since I've done someting like that. By this you mean place a recovery package on the zip card, press the power button at the bootloader, then let the phone install the recovery when it runs thru the fastboot screen?
If yes, great, I remember that, but which recovery should I download? And what about rom manager on CM9? Does it care which recovery is installed?
I appreciate the knowledge here. IT sure is appreciated when things go wrong for folks like myself!
Oh, I should point out that I can stil boot into the phone and use it. The whole issue is limited to getting into recovery to create and/or restore backups of the rom.

1st off, I should shun you for being corrupt with CWM, but I'll help ya out.
Use the search bar and type in "Smelkus recovery" find a themed recovery zip you like and rename it "PC36IMG.zip" and place on the root of your SD card (in no folders) boot to boot loader and let it search, press volume up to update recovery and boom! You have new, better recovery.
As for flashing CM9, check out Jmzs CM9 nightlies. Its better and (supposedly) almost has Wimax working. Once you flash an Amon Ra based recovery, CWM becomes basically useless. So ditch it for the good of everyone. ENJOY
EDIT: Because I'm NICE, here's the link.

Well can I pick your brain once more? I decided to update my wifes phone from MIUI to CM9. She happened to have Clockwork recovery 5.0.2.2. on the phone which I recall was put there by whatever rooting routine I used. Before installing CM9, I tried to update the recovery with Smelkus from the clockwork recovery 5.0.2.2 that's on the phone to smelkus, but when I try to flash it, the smelkus recovery just sits there "parsing" so when I bail out and go back to check, the clockwork version recovery is still there.
This phone was rooted with Revolutionary but I notice that S-ON is still active. I read that S-OFF is not necessary to install a recovery --- at least not the clockwork version that is on this phone. I'm not sure if that's causing the problem or not. Any advice?

d-b-s,
That would be fantastic if you had a clue on the SD card. I did try a FastBoot string that reset it once the first time and it worked, but somehow I lost it again. I think a corrupt or defective SD card started the whole problem and restarted it when I put it's data SD back in.

Rebooting over and over again

Hello,
sorry if u will find this thread to be repeated, but I was searching so much, and nothing helped me. After all, I think you are my last chance.
So to the problem:
One day I rebooted my Desire Z - rooted, CyanogenMod 7.2.0 RC# ( # is number can't remember which one - 2 or 3). Then I haven't paid attention to it and when I came home I noticed that phone is turned-off. So I turned it on: HTC white screen with green htc logo, CM loading screen and PIN code screen. So i entered PIN everything started loading ( i mean icons in notification bar appeared ) and then it happened: reboot. So again: logo, CM screen, PIN. I was bit slow so I didn't manage to enter PIN code and phone rebooted again. So it appears like it reboots in periods. So I start searching around the internet. I tried some things which I knew how to do, but I always found some problem. For example I can't mount USB storage while in CWM v5.0.2.7.
It appears to be boot loop, but I am not sure because I got to entering PIN code.
Help me, pls... I'm clueless.
P.S.: Sorry for my english, it's not my native language.

Umm, don't do that ^^^^^
But it does look like you have some serious issues, try this, boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik, now flash cm7 on top of it
If it still is causing issues then you need to do a full wipe (even better if you super wipe or fastboot -w)
Then flash ROM of choice, cm7 is great and there are many good Roms based off of cm7 I would also recommend, elitemod or ilwt for a couple nice options

I am at work right now and I left phone at home, but I can tell you I tried wiping cache. Problem appeared when I showed log of this wiping and there was something like app2s something with partitions or something like. I already formatted my card in PC (FAT32, not quick format, non-USB card reader - normal one). Should I try different card (card is gold card CID-11111111 (i don't know how many ones ))?
And if I will try what strip419 said, could something possibly happen to my phone ( in wrong way)?

I wouldn't bother with reflashing the hboot, I would try more 'non-destructive' solutions first.
Reflashing thé hboot is thé only way to format all partitions do away with any thing that could be doing this of cos you could brick your phone but if you follow rules its gonna be okay if you have adk on your pc then you could use the command tool to clear this but that could do worse damage if you are a noob so its up to you man try or keep looking for a. Solution that will end up like mine any way

You can flash recovery from fastboot or via PC10IMG.zip the same way doing a hboot reinstall would work, except in this case you don't go to such extremes to do the entire hboot over again, just the recovery and go from there. If it's an ENG hboot can use fastboot directly to flash the recovery.img, otherwise you pack it into a PC10IMG.zip and place it on the SD card.
Worse case scenario, the internal memory is fried, and attempting to do a full hboot reinstall would most likely brick it as opposed to only trying to flash a portion.
I had a repetitive reboot issue when flashing a previous ROM as well.
My noob solution was to put PC10IMG.zip back on the SD card, boot to recovery using ADB and then going through the whole process of reinstalling hboot and putting on a known ROM. Didn't brick mine and I'm new to this...
Could have done with finding this forum earlier.
all should know to be careful doing that method, if it were a stock rom and you simply flashed the pc10img.zip with radio hboot, etc in it you could get a brick easy, especially if you don't have a working rom with adb functionality.
what would happen would be (this is if you have eng s-off as most root users do) your phone would begin by flashing the bootloader, after this it would reboot and attempt to flash flash the radio, only problem is the new hboot would be ship s-on and therefore would get stuck, leving you a soft brick with a little luck it would be possible to fix this but it could be that it is unfixable depending on the exact circumstances
all this is just to say be careful what you do, noob or not, if you aren't 100% sure what you are doing when flashing firmware a brick is easy

I have a similar problem but not sure if it's the same one... When I boot up my phone it goes through all the boot images fine, but when it starts it starts sometimes with my background showing and sometimes in a blank screen but both saying Android System at the top then shortly after shut down (usually shows shutting down not just straight up turns off) I have flashed new roms, reflashed backups, even got a jelly bean rom to go through the optimizing apps screen thing then would go to a blank screen with Android System on top again, and shut down.
Any help would be amazing! I've had my G2 since it's release and would hate to think it ran out of hearts :crying:

I also have the same problem. I attempted to use superwipe g2 to no avail.
I have clockwork recovery installed, and every custom rom I try to use seems to crash 5-10 seconds after finishing to loading screen for say cm7 or cm9.
I do not have a goldcard so am wondering what the best course of action would be. I am reluctant to follow the Hboot advise as the risks mentioned seem great.
everyone having these issues should go to irc freenode #g2root (just google it) and can receive real time help there. there are too many possiblities of what is going wrong and not enough information being given to help here well.
once things are figured out and all is working post back here to explain what the problem/fix was so future people finding this thread may have an easier time

What is the hboot way? What does that do? I'll try it, my G2 is already useless now, anything that will fix it including a dangerous way tell me
well hboot (also known as bootloader or spl) is sorta like bios on a pc. but I don't suggest trying anything rash and can't help much unless I know paticulars of your situation, if you give that I can see what I can do, but like I said before if you would like some realtime help go to freenode.
if you want help here give me details, what exactly is your problem, what have you tried to do to fix it, what method specificaly did you use to obtain root, write down everything on your hboot screen (again you get there by holding volume down while powering on)

Well I bought this phone at a swapmeet last year for 40 bucks. Everything worked and it was on gingerbread last year. In a week I googled and found a way to root by using the thread here in the forum by using adb and downgrading to froyo which was a pain for a noob using adb I just add lol, I was on elitemod gb for many months, until I was playing music a few days ago it just rebooted itself and it wouldn't boot correctly. Here's how it goes, htc white screen, boot animation, then it says android system on the top left and all black under and it shuts itself off. EVERY rom I have flashed it does that, I wiped completely and use the superwipe g2+ and still no dice. I couldn't find the 4ext recovery, I need it as a flashable zip to try it.
not really you should be able to flash it via fastboot (which is my opinion the prefered way anyhow) just google search for the image.
but I still need to know what is on your hboot screen or I can't help much further

[Q] Can't find a working method to flash to sense on Sprint evo 4g

So I currently have a Galaxy note 2. I have to send it to Samsung to repair and plan to use my old Evo 4G as a backup.
So here is my issue. I am on sprint and will need a sense rom in order to update my profile to get data working. I thought it would be easy to flash to sense for 5 minutes and then go back to CM7. NOPE!
I have been working on this from noon and it is now 9:00. I rarely see a blue link in my google searches now.
One of the first few things I found was this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865204
I went down to the part "How do I return to stock?" and clicked it. On that page, I downloaded the PC36IMG.zip
For some reason, hboot will just not flash it. When I go into hboot, it scans and starts reading PC36IMG.zip and after about 12-20 minutes, it just goes to another hboot menu where the only options are to reboot. It doesn't even give an error.
After a few hours of trying that and some clockwork mod flashing, nothing is taking.
I went back to digging through google and the forums here and came across http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...id#Android_Flashing_Guide_.28with_fastboot.29
I have adb working everywhere except in fast boot. As far as I can tell windows recognizes it perfectly fine. Adb just cant see it.
A few hours later, I have come across http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/HTC_EVO_4G_Downloads
This looks like it would be perfect, if all the links weren't dead
So Here I am. I am looking for a method to flash back to stock for just 5 minutes to update the stupid profile. I have exhausted google and the forum search and have not come any closer to my goal in 9 hours.
Here is all the info about my phone:
Sprint HTC EVO 4G
Hboot version: 2.10.0001
Radio: 2.15.00.11.19
S-OFF
Cyanogenmod7.2
I am trying to get to any sense rom via any method. Preferably a clockworkmod update.zip or backup even.
Am I missing something obvious?
I am not new to rooting at all, I just haven't done it in about a year.
Thanks.
You're working too hard.
Ignore any guide that refers to a PC3xxxx zip. That's the nuclear option. You don't need that (and you're lucky you didn't break anything trying it).
Just download any sense ROM.
Try the latest rooted stock ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26516892
If you can flash CM you can flash this.
Basic steps:
Download it (either odex or deodex doesn't matter)
Check md5
Put it somewhere on your SD card that's easy to find (any directory will do, but you don't want to have to hunt around for it all day in recovery)
Make a nandroid
Wipe everything *except* your SD card
If you are using clockwork, wipe everything again. [Editorial note: Clockwork sucks on Evos]
Flash the zip
Reboot
If it works, great; let it sit for awhile, then do whatever you have to do
If it doesn't work, nandroid back and ask for further assistance

The only reason that the bootloader wouldnt recognize the PC36IMG.zip would be because your sdcard is not formatted to FAT32
But thats just info for you, use what the guy above said, its really not difficult because you can flash ANY sense rom, not just 100% stock

that reminds me of the one thing i left out of my 1st post: Truly the *only* bad thing you can do that matters in this world is to erase pictures of your kid's first baby steps or other irreplaceable data from the SD card. the rest of it is just wasted money or time.
in recovery do *not* turn off your brain and wipe the entire SD card.
if you *are* going to nuke your SD card (for instance if you have to reformat it because it has the wrong filesystem ) obviously make sure you have a backup first.
the rest of the discussion is really unimportant in the cosmic sense of things.
you flashed CM7? you still have S-OFF? then don't worry. you got this. take a deep breath, have a drink, enhance your calm, flash a ROM.

Also no worries about the SD card, I havent used this phone for a while and took anything of value off of it long ago.

You rock! Thanks so much! I knew it had to be simple.
I nearly had a heart attack though, I booted into recovery and formatted everything, then noticed I never put the sd card in. Had a bit of panic before I realized that clockworkmod is not erased by formatting

Hmm actually, it looks like it only fixed half of my issues. For some reason it is unable to update the profile. Do you think I need up update my radio? I have never had to do that and am totally clueless about it
what's the error when updating profile? 1012?
is it absolutely necessary to update your profile to accomplish what you're trying to do? is data working? can you use wifi in the mean time?
that radio is a pre-gingerbread radio, it is true. note the only way to truly "brick" a phone is a failed radio update, so i might try everything else first.
if you simply must flash radio, then yes, you are *now* entering the world where you may need to place a PC36IMG.zip in the root of your SD card and run it from the bootloader.
check out http://themikmik.com/showthread.php?8477-Radio-Update-1-21-2012-2-15-00-12-19 for the appropriate files and maybe read a few pages at the beginning and end of that thread just to reassure yourself you know what you are doing.
but before i tried all that, i might just reboot, let it simmer for a bit, try again tomorrow. 1012 can be intermittent.
in a worst case scenario, find out your MSL (download MSL reader from app store or just call sprint and sweet talk a customer service rep. they'll usually tell you if they think you're not evil) and undertake the very serious step of blasting your phone back in to "hands-free activation" mode. this is accomplished by dialing ##72786# and then providing your MSL to reset. this really and truly wipes any knowledge this phone ever had of its previous relationship to sprint. then call sprint and re-activate your phone.

Just tried again, it is 1012. Just wondering, but does the phone actually need to be active on the line for it to update right? I haven't had it switched over yet so that might be why...
Can I give you a little advice?? Please get away from Clockwork Mod. It's not a good recovery option for the EVO. I know it is for most other phones, but for the EVO, you want an Amon Ra based recovery. Specifically, I'd go with Smelkus Amon Ra style Recovery. That and the newest radios are in my dev-host.
Also, click the link for my guide in my signature and go over that before you do anything else. It's a little dated ,but for what you want to do, it'll help you out, a lot

you say clockwork sucks on evo. what should I be running.? I'm using sensuASOP 2.55 but I'm not sure if I like it I need to update the prl and not. sure how to do it
What does updating the PRL get you? Sprint PRL's for the frequencies used by the OG Evo haven't really changed in most areas for a long time. Not sure why this is so important to everyone but maybe I'm missing something.
Anyways, as for recovery, it's not *required* to use a different recovery. If you have clockwork, go ahead, do what you need to do, just be sure to repeat any wiping steps one or two extra times because clockwork does not always wipe successfully on the first try. (Historical note: there was a brief time when Evos could lose their WiMax keys because of clockword mod, but that is not as likely to happen these days. Still, that plus the unreliable wiping thing is basically why Evo owners hate clockwork always and forever.)
The post immediately before yours gives a recommendation about alternatives to clockwork. If you will be keeping your Evo for any length of time, change your recovery to Amon Ra or SmelkusMod as soon as you have a convenient time.
can u tell me how to install smelkus? do I have to uninstall clockwork? and then install smelkus. could u point. me somewhere.
