So i've been running Legendary rc 2.1 for about a week, flashed Shadow kernel 1.0, and then Honeycomb fusion 2.4 and had been running fine. Noticed v3 was out for the theme so I flashed that and the biggest difference I saw was the addition of the 10 locks mod to the theme. And now, with the 10 locks mod, I'm getting random system restarts, best i can describe as not a full phone reboot, but what looks to be launcher and acore restart and kicks off the media scanner etc. I know it's not a full reboot because my screen turns on, goes black for a second, then i see the lockscreen with a black background, then my wallpaper pops up, then i see the media scanner start, and no samsung boot logo or boot ani.
Gonna do a clean install of RC 2.1 again, with HC fusion 2.4 and see if i still have the issues minus the 10 locks. Anyone else run into similar issues?
As a side note, when this sys restart happens, it seems to completely hose my wifi untill i toggle it on and off 3 times.
i had the same issue....did a clean legendary reflash and used shadow kernel and it has been smooth since then... i think it could be within the lock mod because i havent flashed a theme or the lock mod itself and havent had any more "reboot" issues since

Hi, I recently updated from fresh 0.5.3 to damage control 3.2.3 including updating the radio and wiimax radio to the latest version. My camera nor camcorder app will work correctly now. When I click the icon it goes to a black screen and stays that way until I click the home icon to exit. I've tried flashing multiple roms to see if that was the issue, but it hasn't changed anything. Anyone have any ideas or tips? Thanks.
this has been happening to me lately too... can't get camera to launch!!! running RvU and all was well and camera worked fine... now suddenly camera shows icon briefly then goes back to home screen, or, when a few other apps are running goes black until pressing home button. trying to launch camera has locked phone up a few times too. Tried deleting apps (ATK, fring etc...) hard reset, remove battery, re-flashing ROM, re-flashing radio... nothing has worked and it hasn't come back even once. WTF? hardware issue?
everything else seems fine and I don't really want to take it in to Sprint just yet... but miss the cam!!!
edit: so after 10,000 reboots and battery/SD card pulls and 500 lock ups... three days of trying everything and getting really frustrated, my wife says 'did you smack it yet?' rather jokingly... and out of spite for sprint/htc I did give the phone a few thwacks on the backside and the frickin' camera fired up! strange lines/slow tapestry of colors... able to switch over to front camera and take a pic... after rebooting she works like a charm (!!!???)... so far so good...
still not working
Anyone have any advice? I seem to have tried nearly everything. Rebooted 10 times in a row, took my battery out for extended periods, reflashed several roms several times (damage control, bugless beast, etc), and fixed permissions in rom manager. The only 2 things I haven't tried yet which I guess are next on the list is flashing to a rooted version of the new ota rom and formatting my sd card. Any other suggestions people?
I ran into the same problem when I tried to use toast's uv-oc kernel on the latest Rom from Fresh.I reflashed the stock htc kernel and everything's back to normal now.
When my phone first boots up LP is non responsive until after a couple minutes, quickest work around is to go to task manager force close LP then it loads up fine. I'm on SRF 1.1.1 though it was happening on 1.1.0 as well. I do recall this not being an issue initially when i first went to SRF 1.1.0 (don't think its a rom issue). Wondering if there's a resolution out there, not the biggest problem but can get annoying. Also notice that my beautiful widget clock skin doesn't load until after LP becomes responsive (the widget loads fine but its the default skin at first).
i have same issue, just let the phone sit there for about a minute after it boots up. also try re-installing launcher pro. the new version of beautiful widgets takes a while to load the skin sometimes.
I have both of these (BW and Laun Pro) and it lags for me also.. I have noticed if I just keep pushing the home button.. it kind of kicks it in the butt and loads quicker.. or i'm very impatient.. leaning to the latter..
So, I am on AOKP build 37 and sometimes when I turn on the screen, it is unresponsive and requires me to pull the battery.
It only seems to happen on AOKP and MIUI...
I tried running the cache cleaner and fix permissions, but I had the same results.
Any way to clear this up? This is the only bummer for me on these builds.
Thank you!
Alex
i have the same issue but i am running the unoffical ic9. there is a work around if you put your hand on the screen for few seconds it should reset the touch screen it works every time it worked for miui but i never tried it for aokp.. Good luck
Happens to me too. Its just a cache issue that needs to be updated with the rom.
I was using Energy ROM (dated June 2012) and my KF suddenly locked up. I rebooted the KF and it stuck at the color tiles for at least 10 minutes before I gave up and restarted it, which didn't help. I then flash it with the latest Energy ROM and the problem won't go away and I used the complete wipe option. I also tried out Alien ROM and Hashcode's CM 10 ROM. While both of them would boot fine, I have problem with internet videos in browser. Particularly, the video control bar would pop up and down as soon as I nudge the KF. This was happening when I'm using Dolphin and the default browser. Is there a way to fix it?
What recovery are you using? Version? Not that it really matters. I'm just curious why Energy wouldn't work after a complete wipe.
To fix the problem you have with videos, simply turn your rotation off.
I believe TWRP is 2.2.2.1 and latest FFF bootloader retrieved from KFU. If I turn off rotation, wouldn't the display be stuck at 1 orientation?
LOL. Rotate your device, THEN turn rotation off. The rotation is pretty sensitive and when the media player detects a slight amount of rotation, it acts up.
OK I'm dumb =). I noticed that in the default browser, it doesn't suffer from the annoying video controls popping up and down. However, Dolphin still does so I assume it's Dolphin's problem. I'm using iPad as user agent otherwise the sites will try to get me to install Flash.
However, my original problem with Energy ROM baffles me. A few months back, I notice it was gradually slowing down and getting less responsive and completely dropping WiFi connections. So I reformat and reinstall it and it ran until I notice the same problem until it locked up for good. What kind of problem is preventing the ROM from running properly even after a full wipe install?
Energy ROM hasn't been updated in months and is pretty much dead in the water. The 3.0 kernel for the Kindle Fire has been updated many times since Energy was last active here.
I am currently running the latest build of the PacMan rom for my Sprint S3, but my problem didnt start there. As over the course of a few weeks my phone has been randomly crashing while running build 7 of Slimkat. It started crashing when i wanted to take a picture with the AOSP camera (when i hit the camera button and then it would shut off). Then it progressed to just crashing trying to use accuweather, or even when the screen was auto-rotating in my SMS app. So finally i just backed up my important bits and made a clean wipe into Wicked X 8.0 TW rom (because i'm on Ting and TW roms initially work on their network and wanted to export, or to just copy down the settings of, the APN xml to use in AOSP roms). After playing around with that for 20 minutes, i didn't experience any fc's or reboots. Though i did not use the camera in that time (i forgot to check). To which i then wiped it into PacMan rom that im at now. Which at the moment seems fine to do everything, except it will shut off if i want to OPEN the camera (doesn't let me use it at all). Plus i did have it crash once rotating with the play store up...
So im kinda lost, i wonder if this is just an issue with the camera in the rom, or if it might be a bigger issue with the phone itself. As ive been having the same random error's with two roms and i dont see anyone having FC's with pacman rom with the camera.
more testing done
So i have also attempted to odin completely back to stock and i have a stock rooted rom with nothing touched. The sudden shut-offs still happen and occur randomly. I installed logcat and what seems to be throwing error's is the accelerometer. Plus at first when i flash a new rom it seems to work ok with no problems for the first day, then suddenly start showing symptoms the next. Plus ive had it shut off during bootup too while going through the sprint 4g animation screen. Though i have not had it die on me in recovery, so thats a thing.... Plus it will rotate no problem half the time, and then ive seen it die rotating to use my keyboard.
So at this point i feel like its actually a hardware option. If it is the accelerometer, is it easy to fix (i guess re solder the connections if they're broke?)? or should i just try and replace the main board?
