I was well excited to see this here then noticed it's the old build with the volume bug - ok no problem flash coolhbo300's kernel no worries.
The thing is as much of a CM fanboi I am I cant update maps on there or resize widgets so atm for me it's not a daily driver
but it is CM9 w00t! \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/
I will be watching the post over on rootzwiki for updates
Top job from fitsnugly for the cherry picks and compiling it for us
Happy for everyone waiting for it but, IMHO, nothing beats stock Android.

Sorry I'm not registered at euroskank so I can't read the thread... where do we get this? how come it isn't listed in the development section? would love to get some CM9 on my phone....
I'm guessing it's still an internal build at present
Did anyone flash this build? Any known bugs or crashes?
Anyway, I'm downloading right now and will post my findings.

Works great for me so far. Wallet is included in gapps and that works ive just got my free 10 dollar.
Agreed, no issues so far. Everything's smooth and fast and there's finally natively included power management in the notifications again
I flashed CM-9.0.0-RC0-GN-KANG-signed.12092011-0723 and ICS GApps 20111125-2
Changes I noticed so far:
- slightly customized bootanimation (sadly not the clear black mod by now)
- Power toggles in notification bar; WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, Sound (not customizable by now)
- CM kernel included; Min: 350Mhz, Max: 1200Mhz, interactive governor as default, no OC, no UV (as far as I see it)
- Android Dream included (screensaver); options: Rocketlauncher, Nyandroid, Gallery Slideshow, Clock (<-- not working, black screen)
- Google+ not included
- Google Wallet included and working
- ROM Manager pre-installed
- Additional LWPs: Black Hole, Magic Smoke
- Reboot options in power menu! Restart, Bootloader, Recovery
My personal impression:
- the device seems VERY smooth! I had Android Revolution as well as Ir5 installed and CM 9 is at least on par. I didn't install many additional apps yet though.
- I miss advanced CM settings in this build, like in CM7. Can't seem to find them. But they'll be added for sure
I'll edit the post if I find something else.
Cheers

edit: I miss Paul's modified buttons with menu button on both sides and always on. I'll do a backup and flash the mod. Let's see if it breaks something
Not many changes but it is a start!
I miss drop down notifications.
My Google Wallet doesn't work says Secure Element has stopped responding. *shrugs* help
How close is the launcher to stock? I heard you can move/remove the search bar, but I still want the basic look and feel of ICS...
can someone running CM9 please test live wallpapers?
is there still choppy lag when using a live wallpaper other than the stock one?
Awesome, downloading and flashing now... will report back with impressions.
Feels very smooth. Strange thing i've noticed, The music player is the GB one, not the ICS one. Still works but slightly odd.

There are links to the rom and Google apps in the first post.
Btw the button mod crashed the modified cm9 framework as expected. Don't install any mods or patches.

There are no options regarding the launcher in this version of cm9. Launcher is stock with google search.
@paOol: depends on the wallpaper. Phase beam is butter smooth while the Nexus LWP lags like hell.

I got my Galaxy Nexus yesterday. Is it worth going from stock to CM9 already?
Or should i wait some weeks for new versions, what do you think?
Is there anything with CM9 that will get worse then with stock-rom if i flash now?

Presenting FroydVillain 1.1.1, TeamVillain's Froyo ROM (Android 2.2)
FroydVillain 1.1.1 INFO & Release Notes:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
REMEMBER the ROM will only be at peak performance after it's been rebooted a couple of times, and when you've opened your apps once prior.
adb install won't work on this ROM, until you tick "Unknown Sources" in the Menu > Settings > Applications menu.
This appears to be a new security feature. Similarly, apps pushed to /data/app won't work either. You might not notice the issue, but the app does not get any of its permissions it should have, meaning that it is probably useless, and might FC constantly or whatever. So remember to tick the Unknown Sources box
The stock camera doesn't work properly - it takes photos OK, but it doesn't do live preview. The app "Camera Magic", which is free on the market, works fine, so we recommend that.
RELEASE NOTES:
Fixed in this release:
Multi-touch restored to improved touchscreen driver
Applied workaround for akmd running at 100% cpu utilisation (Thanks alankila)
Fixed GMail app resolution
VillainROM Updater now works
Compcache enable/disable script fixed (compcache on by default)
HTC Sense ringtones added
Issues outstanding:
Camera
Notification and chargeLEDs
Autobrightness (only dims when screen is turned off)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Coming from FroydVillain 1.1.0:
Do a wipe of data and dalvik at least.
Coming from any other ROM (Including FroydVillain 1.0.0):
Do a Full wipe, preferably including EXT.
DO NOT POST SUPPORT REQUESTS WITHOUT DOING THIS.

Enjoy, and be sure to leave any feedback
Thank you,
The VillainROM team.
dam gonna have to try this!
Sounds awesome. Just out of curiosity, is the fix for the camera live preview planned at all?
Mind making a quick list of the differences over 2.1? and is flash 10.1 planned for the near future? i remember getting it to work (pretty slow mind) with a .apk someone made.
Thanks anyway, great job guys!
How does the apps on ext work? Do widgets and apps stored on ext show on home screen? Been using the test alpha as this problem occurred in full alpha.

Nice. I've been waiting for a fully working froyo port. The camera issue was the last big problem for me. Will probably try this out tomorrow and report back (it's late here in the uk)

Thought that with the official 2.1 out and most ROMs being based on that, I'd thought that that I would stop playing around with new roms for a while...
Well that's gone for a toss now - thanks Villain team - downloading now...
Jep TeamVillain did it again, they make my heart beat faster! Thanks again guys!

Anyone have a mirror that isn't being battered?
great stuff, worked fine off first boot, coupel more, ran even better ..
one thing ...
the phone, when a call comes in, no slider for pick up/ignore ??
you have to use the phone hard-button to pick up ... how do you ignore call ? aside from turning volume down?
aside from that, camera magic is amazing, much better than stock camera anyways, even supports burst photos... amazing!! ...
but, if an update is made, a slider on the calls coming in woudl be sweet!
love this ROM so far, very snappy, and much better than the ezhero ROM's i've been using ... although, ezhero is 2nd best .. so no offence xenoside ...
i'll defn' donate when incoming calls have slider
worth downloading this ROM ... really well done, thanks villainrom.
Are my eyes deceiving me? Holy crow 2.2 for my Hero? DOWNLOADING HELLO!

Hi Geo411m,
Thanks for your effort, just like to confirm that is it a CWM flashable zip?
Thanks~!!
Well, I ran into a few issues at first. It didn't have any APNs, but I reset APNS to default then restarted the phone and all is well now.
So far so good, no real issues now that it's up and running. Thanks!
And yes, it's flashable via CWM.
thanks kitinas.
damn, I'm forced to login/create account with 4shared now? bah..
nevertheless, thanks for sharing

Did you wipe caches after install? This rom was created using the system image directly from google and therefore should work exactly as OTA. Not sure why the apn weren't there on first use.

Receiving my brand new NEXUS tomorrow. Need to make a decision whether to go with stock ROM vs AOKP.
My history has been HyperDroid CM7 on an HD2 so i am on completely new ground. Can any and all give me your top 10 reasons to go either way?...........

In my opinion I feel stock (with a few tweaks) offers more stability. I've seen too many AOSP give lots of FC/crashes and I rather have a working phone then have it crash while outdoors and you have to wait to get home to fix it.
My experience in Stock tells me, you can only be with stock for so long...
...till you get frustrated enough to
first - atleast change the Kernel (go for franco kernel, one of the best out there). that makes things a bit snappier, has much more tweaks under the hood for battery life, wifi et al
Then, second, figure out how many more features are available in ROMs out there instead of stock. Once you find that - it is very difficult to stick to stock. Try APEX which is a very generic rom and keeps best features of most of the ROMs out there.
So basically, take it easy, and enjoy the ride ... (or enjoy the bumps first then figure out a way to sail smooth!)
You wont like the smooth sailing of a beautiful rom and a kernel out there, till you've had it rough enough on stock. I just used the rom in this thread, and my phone went down by atleast 30% in terms of performance.
Its much more sluggish, feels heavier, and a bit jerky through the menus. Even when I have almost no apps installed!
I was much better on a 4.0.3 bigxie Apex rom (extremely stable) and franco kernel - extremely fast! blazing.
Stock cant even hold a candle infront of this combination, and I'm talking about 4.0.4!!
GPS lock on this stock image is a 1000 times better than CM9. wtf??

I've always had 5-10 second lock on CM9; seems like mileage varies for some people for some reason or another.

I just updated the ROM with a much more optimized system. Let me know how it compares to AOSP.
May I know what did you do to optimize the system? Deodex is to make it slower so I'm wondering what are other tweaks you included that make it different than say ARHD 3.0.

I don't know what's in ARHD to compare. I made lots of changes to the build.prop for increased performance and made changes to the system to make android take advantage of the Nexuses GPU for better performance.

Guys, I want to update to a new ROM and I need some suggestions..
I want a stable ROM with a lot of themes and customization as well as good battery life.
I have FoxHound which is based on LiquidSmooth..
What do you recommended guys?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
cm9, theme manager/themes support is merged, i believe cm9 themes will start to show up everywhere
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201
I think Liquid Smooth and Foxhound have A LOT more features than CM9...and there's a decent amount of themes for them...although not as much as CM9. I used Liquid Smooth as my main ROM and had very good battery life, completely satisfied.
It won't be long romanbb tweeted there may be build 35 with theme manager..
The best of both..aokp with theme manager
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I'm also excited for theme manager integration in AOKP.
OP, AOKP is built on CM9, with more features/options.
AOKP 35 is out guys.
I've been running it since last night =]
You just have to find the link on Goo.
I think roman fell asleep with the build bot running or something, lol.
Edit:
And Roman has stated that AOKP is NOT CM9 based.
He actually gets offended when people say that =/.
They do some cherry picks. But the base is their own.

Thanks for the heads up, I try to stick to milestones though. Are you insinuating that B35 includes theme chooser?
I always see it stated that AOKP is based on CM9.. I wonder how that misconception got started? I did know that they cherry pick features from a bunch of diff ROM/mods. Thanks for clearing that up.
EDIT:
Heres the changelog for anybody else wondering whats new in B35..
removed Facebook sync (this had to happen. it was a hack and breaking Picasa sync. FB needs to fix this, not ROMs)
Added ability to hide sender and/or message body in notification'
Added dock battery display for tablets
Added Browser tab settings (max tab limit/whether to restore tabs on browser restart)
Added CM9 T-Mobile theme manager
Added Sense 4 style Task switcher (you have the option of choosing from stock/web os/sense 4 now)
Added ability to play boot sound (disabled by default)
increased default nav bar glow speeds for better user experience out of the box
tons of device specific updates and fixes. check here to see all of the latest code we've merged
updated p5/p5wifi device trees from GalaxianSoup.
added toroplus (data will not work after flashing, just flash ANY other kernel after flashing b35. we're working on it
Goo Manager won't be able to detect an upgrade this build

Not too happy about removing fb sync, yeah it is a hack but I could give a **** less about Picasa. Just my opinion.
Please note, I'm retired, and for the most part I don't visit XDA very often, I will respond if I happen to notice there's been a post, but don't send me angry PMs if I don't, personal life and finances has made it almost impossible to continue my work with android at all.
That being said, I'll still help where and when I can.
First and foremost, this is based on waydownsouth's trees, both the T20-common and the A100 specific trees with some updates and changes and additions from me.
I can't test anything, I don't have an A100.
These are not going to be nightly, daily, weekly, or whatever, these are now simply where I post test builds from working on the trees.
These are 4.1.2, and NOT 4.2! Use the 4.1.2 GApps packages!
Since I'm starting over, there are things that NEED to be tested, please:
BlueTooth
GPS
WiFi
Audio in general/performance
Audio specific outputs/inputs, such as headphones, headsets, BT, HDMI, dock, USB, whatever you can think of.
Video playback support/performance
Mounts, internal, external, swapped, whatever.
UI performance, I don't mean "It has a slight stutter for 1/4 of a second scrolling my 500 apps app drawer 2 seconds after it booted" I mean it either runs well or runs like crap over a day or two of use.
Cameras. I mean cameras in normal designed use, not photosphere or why it won't take clear pictures underwater at 8mp from the front camera.
Whatever else you can think of that needs testing
Please report them here, this is to take the random stuff out of the trees thread and keep here where it's more relevant.
As usual right off Hardslog has permission to use these as bases for whatever he wants, in a pinch, he can use them for toilet paper, anyone else please ask or let me know first.

Ok, goo.im went down, and pio-masaki.com is gone, so the files are effectively gone for ever. I have 1 single build, B3 TabUI Mod, which you can find here:
CLICKY CLICKY
Also a far older, dusty, ancient build is tucked away over on devhost, which is here:
GRANDMA CM10
I have no idea what works or doesn't with it.
If those don't float your boat, head over to the kuroikaze thread, there's some builds there as well, 4.1 and 4.3 based.
Feel free to use any gapps packages you wish, but please use 4.1, if you have issues with things like keyboard vanishing/crashing, play store or other stuff crashing, these ARE gapps related.
Change log:
B1 - 11-08-12: Initial updated 4.1.2 build. Addressed HDMI audio. Memory bar added to recent apps.
B2 - 11-25-12: Updated source build. Memory bar in recent apps removed, "kill all" button added to recent apps instead, upstream CM change.
B3 - 1-13-13: Updated source, built using Linaro 4.7 toolchain and -O3 and strict-aliasing in various areas. ROM only, kernel is still stock CM9. Basically just an updated build for you guys, haven't addressed anything in particular.
B3 - 1-13-13 Modded:
Acid Audio with Sony and Awesome Beats, new transition animations, slight dalvik tweaks. Just some of the stuff I've been working with on the Thrive added in for flavor. Untested.
B3.5 - 1-17-13: Updated source to B3, however is built with Tablet UI forced, otherwise stock build of CM10, no mods. Don't expect me to keep doing dual builds of CM10 for you guys =p
B3.5 Modded - 1-17-13: Updated source to B3, however is built with Tablet UI forced, same mods as B3 Modded.
B4 - 1-19-13: Addressed GPS issues, Trebuchet oddness and clock fitment (cutoff). Blind fixes, may fix everything or nothing.
B5 - 2-01-13: Nothing special, just an updated build as was asked about. Here's your friday night flash fix guys. Apparently broke external SD mounts somewhere.
B3 Tablet UI and B4 Phablet UI:
Seeder
AC!D audio
XLoud
Supercharged
Die Hard launcher
init.d memory tweaks
time killer killer mod
maximum overdrive mod
service preserver
transition animations
20130715
Updated source
Trimmed the trees a little
Added prebuilt kernel and modules
Simply a test build that the changes didn't break anything.
20130731
Experimental 3G/RIL support for A101 devices!
Memory management, in a couple places now, to help with memory leak issues. While it may not prevent the memory leaks, it should prevent it from impacting the system so badly. Thank you, nVidia.
Dock settings added for those with the dock. Does anyone even have one?
BT DUN, WiFi P2P and WiFi Direct support added (experimental)
Rotation Lock Switch support added (back) in
Music Visualization overlay settings
Add large heap to launcher2
Tuning of the boardconfig and device files for UI.
Probably more I'm forgetting.
20130801:
Paths in init corrected, should fix mount issues from B5 to now.
Lockscreen rotation enabled even with switch in use by the ROM in overlay.
20130801-B2:
Redid init, should all be peachy again.
20130802:
Once again massive battles for no real obvious reasons besides I'm getting rusty.
Internal SD workd as it should
External SD works as it should
USB Storage ability added
Settings>Storage crash corrected, no longer force closes
Should now be back to a daily driver usable status, so please do further testing on audio, etc and report back your findings. @hardslog, this update may finally be good enough for an updated base lol
20140404:
Updated source
Trees are 99.9999% the same as last build, with one change:
Remove unsupported overlay
Won't, or shouldn't, have any apparent changes.
Built on request from our Russian cousins.

I'm sure I missed some, if I did it's nothing personal.
Hey pio_masaki,
I don't know what it takes to build a rom, but I have an A100 and would like to see this thing get some good 4.1/4.2 action going. I'm alright with a command line and I actually do QA for web programmers for a living. And I really want to learn more about android.
If you build em, I can test em and report back. On this CM10 build or your Jellytime Sosei. What do you think?

4.2 will not be an option from me, I don't have an a100 to even get it booting. Secondly, I don't feel like building a new twrp to handle an android version that may never be used on this device. Again, maybe if I had one, but its not worth the extra hassle right now.

First off thanks pio for making yet another rom for our device. I was able to load this up before work and play with it for a few minutes. It seemed very smooth and responsive. Two minor things I noticed 1.The bottom part of the clock was cut off in the status bar even when I expanded it and it happens in landscape and portrait 2. When switching apps in portrait mode the top 75% of the screen is grayed/dimmed for the background but the bottom is still normal. Unlike in landscape were the whole background is grayed/dimmed.
Neither of these issues are serious or deal breakers though just a couple minor things I noticed.
If this sounded confusing I will try to attach some screenshots when I get home.
Once again thanks Pio.
Sorry to ask, but must i flash b2 over b1 or can i just flash b2. Coming from a different rom.

You don't need to go in order, but follow the directions for coming from another ROM. In short, full wipe.

I can confirm this report about the UI, it looks as though it is out of scale (status bar, notification bar). What I'm guessing is another side effect of this is that when you hold Home and slide up to open Google search, the Google Arc and button are offset about 150 or so pixels to the left.
Also, I'm experiencing that the back button becomes slightly unresponsive after a while, this can be fixed by going to CM Settings > Navigation Bar > Reset to defaults.
Guys reporting random bugs is really quite pointless, I can't fix what I don't have. These are basically a nightly cm10 build to keep you guys updated, I can't test or fix anything wrong with them, I don't have one.

Un-Official Evervolv AOSP
This ROM is still in testing phase but must say it works quite nicely. Most all features are working fine. Read below for description of ROM.
As you may or not know, Evervolv has been building quality AOSP for multiple devices. Recently we (Classicnerd) have had the pleasure of working with Preludedrew in testing, working out bugs, and joining together to bring a fantastic rom to everyone using HTC, HP Touchpad, Samsung, Asus Nexus 7, and many more devices.
What to expect? Expect a solid platform which to build from. They have been known for adding Evervolv Toolbox which allows status bar tweaks, interface tweaks (volume wake, volume music control, Custom display density settings, and customizable power menu settings), as well as a stable platform which we can bring this hardware to full usage. There is also a Performance section for memory management and processor changes. The Themes section in settings is not working but should be very soon. Su works fantastic and so does the 4-1 boot to recovery work flawless.
Why Un-Official? There are many bugs to work out in an AOSP ecosystem. With that said, these bugs won't hinder your ability to enjoy this great device what so ever. Mostly when people go to an official release, it's because all hardware and software function as if it was stock with no issues and then they move on to the next build (possibly the next update). As you all know, there will always be some sort of issue. But we have a slight advantage with the Nexus 10 device. It's straight up Google. With Google in full support of the Android Open Source Platform, this gives many developers the opportunity to bring customized settings, tweaked apps, and modded framework to bring to the general public and flashaholics something we felt the direction should go.
Now we give you Evervolv Stella. I will let you all guess why the name stella came about. hehe, it was chosen by me which I feel honored to help support this project for you guys. Please understand that everyone on this team have full time jobs as well as work countless (often unappreciated, but more often appreciated) working on source code to bring ideas to life, while having a family life. If you feel the urge to donate, please do. We are saving to bring a Nexus 10 to Preludedrew. His wife cut him off from spending money on devices...lol No worries, we'll get him one.
This ROM ROM is very fast and smooth. While there may be glitches associated with jb, they are being removed and pushing it to the limits.
We now bring you Stella

Haha, you're in for a treat. Sucks it takes so long to upload. But, only 22 minutes left till we go live
Edit...just two minutes left
I think this is also a good ROM.
ok, Rom and GAPPS are uploaded
Looks great! I'm about to try. Thank you!
@Leoisright nice... good to see Evervolv here... used to use this on my Nexus One... my brother still does on his!!
This device is going to have the best ROMs... CM, AOKP, Evervolv & Paranoid are already here and it's been just a week!!!
i know, all the big dogs in the house. Ur rom is great tho. It held me over until we got this rolling. I know it's priority #1 to get the kernel inline due to the mods in settings to OV/UC and mess with some other settings too. Once we get it right, you'll be the first to see the changes.
I have a few things i'll show you to add some stuff if ur interested. only little things but good ones. After I get this all set up i can show you.
HuluPlus and Youtube are not functional. Love the speed and smoothness though:thumbup:

Sounds good...
I was actually working on some of this stuff for my Galaxy Nexus and when I got my device I just built it from AOSP and slowly added a few basic things... I just learned a lot of this stuff a few months ago with my Transformer Prime... so I'm still pretty much a newbie!

do you have app compatibility issues with ur rom? Ours isn't compatible with basic ones like dropbox, youtube, rootexplorer, etc
Yeah, i jumped head first in aosp about a year ago. be very carefull, it can burn you out...lol i had to take a couple months off and enjoy other people work before i wanted to do it again.
Did anybody lose root after flashing this rom? And Google Now won't run because of Location setting problem.

i didn't loose root. Sounds strange, but check the time settings. Mine changed to 6 hours ahead the first time i flashed it
edit. my root is fine, but there is something messed up with location. I can fix that in the next update.

Weird. I ran root checker and confirmed that device isn't rooted. Came from PA-2.99.3.
click on settings/toolbox/interface/change dpi by 1. you will see it takes root privies. If not, something else may be going on. let me know if you could. also, open superuser. mines shows the pasted two days of usage.

You're right. But doesn't work with any other app that requires root. I just tried Adaway and it failed.

thanks for letting me know. There is an apparent compatibility issue as well. Will get that fixed too.
