[Q] Stuck in bootloop alpharev - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys,
I've been reading up on this forum for a while now, but now I have a problem that I can't seem to fix. As many, my phone seems to be stuck in a bootloop since I'm quite sick of the i'm so serious joker face I am not able to access recovery since it will show the same alpharev screen.
I've rooted my phone using the noob proof guide here on xda (unrevoked etc). And had the stable CM7.1 version installed as custom rom. I've used it for some weeks before the problem appeared.
Details of the bootloader
Bravo PVT1 ship s-off, HBOOT - 0.93.0001
I've tried the solution 2 of Bortak's (awesome) guide to solve the problem. But when flashing the recovery, again the joker face!
I've tried clearing the storage, no succes.
Thnx for helping out!
Due to the overwhelming amount of information, I'm confused what my next (and safest ) step should be!
thnx in advance!

Try:
Code:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase recovery
then
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot oem gencheckpt
Click to collapse
This may work

thnx bortak!
However... unfortunately nothing changes... Still stuck on the bootscreen!

Make a goldcard (look at my guide), then flash the latest WWE RUU

Hey Bortak,
Thnx for your help! I managed to push the RUU without creating the goldcard eventually. I was confused how to do this since I only found examples with working phones and only realized quite late your step 7 was the solution for this. I skipped the step before because I thought the USB connection was not my problem.
Just curious, I thought the goldcard was only necessary for branded phones? And in the steps following your tutorial I thought I needed to have a working phone, which mine obviously isn't. What should I have done differently to get a goldcard? (these were the reasons why I didn't try)
That thread of yours is a life saver!

You are absolutely right, goldcard is only for branded phones. This is because branded phones does a CID (Carrier ID)-check if one applies a RUU. If this RUU has a different ID than the one from the carrier, you will get this CID-error. By using goldcard you avoid this error. So unbranded phones does not a goldcard, because they do not this check.
That's how I understand the matter (no guarantee it's 100% right).

[Q] Potential Internal memory corrupt Issue with S-On (Flashed 2.3 RUU)

I have flashed the original 2.3 RUU upgrade from Htc dev. The phone is stuck on boot loop. It stays on HTC logo screen for few seconds and then restart again.
History:
I originally had RCMix installed on my phone. Suddenly the phone restarted and then got stuck on Joker screen. I found out that the memory card was corrupted, so reformatted sdcard through windows. Tried re-flashing but again was getting stuck on joker screen.
I flashed RUU's (initially Amoled one and got blank screen for a while) successfully but again was getting stuck on boot screen with no access to recovery , could only access fastboot.
So as a last resort , tried flashing 2.3 upgrade , so its no more stuck on the htc logo now, but keep restarting from that logo screen.
1) I understand it could potentially be a Mboard or Nand issue, but I suspect it could also just be bad sectors on internal memory or some other internal memory corrupt issue. Any thoughts ?
2) I could delete those partitions using fastboot commander but after using RUU , I have got a S-On device now. Is it possible to do S-Off just with fastboot without access to recovery/Adb ?
(Tried asking this on Revolutionary IRC, but no answers)
Got this device from e-bay and htc customer care says they don't honour the warranty after flashing 2.3 upgrade.
PS: I have tried searching and posting on various threads, but still looking for answers. That's why created a new thread.

Yes, tried couple of tmes, goes to the boot loop again

try leaving it for an hour or so, and then stick it in your freezer for 10 minutes in a plastic bag (no joke), then try again with the 2.3 RUU.. not much else you can do I'm afraid.
So is it a bricked device now even when I can access fastboot ?
try to boot it without the sd card..
as the first boot require some time, wait 15 minutes or more..
Did you DOWNGRADE hboot??? and than intall stock hboot?? which hboot did you used? if the new ones from alpharev.nl you'd probably didn't read this "Downgrade protection, these HBOOTs cannot be overwritten by an OTA or RUU, unless you flash a downgrader HBOOT first." it's not too late for downgrade... just do it on fastboot

I did S-Off using alpharev few months earlier but don't remember specifically running any downgrade. After installing the RUU, the Hboot got overwritten, so definitely I was not on the latest alpharev's HBoot's.
Now to downgrade or S-Off , the phone needs to be detected by the setup, which uses adb. But I can not access adb, can only access FastBoot.
i think you can try to flash stock hboot on fastboot by fastboot tool and than do the RUU again... you can... try...

I don't think that's doable, is it ? I don't think we can downgrade the Hboot just like that with S-On.
The risk is loosing the access to Hboot/fastboot itself.
I tried that and it doesn't work with S-ON. I can't access my phone outside fastboot and hboot and I can't even flash radio that way... So now I have an expensive mp3 player with (occasional) wifi access... Anyone have a solution?

Just out of curiosity, how are you playing music in Hboot/fastboot
I think only way for us is to go to HTC now unless otherwise a senior member here sees this post and suggests something else.

Sorry about that, I forgot to add "via USB" over there... I meant that my pc can recognize my phone only when in hboot or fastboot, when connected by USB cable

Don't you have to be S-Off to flash recovery? I went through the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1137763 and it seems I won't be able to flash it, since I'm still S-On
Yes, Seems that my device is bricked and only way out seems to be HTC now.
ridhavm,
Have you swapped hboots to Downgrade from alpharev's site?
If not, then you are still S-OFF.
Check your hboot if it's not old one.
If you are desperate, you can msg me on gTalk. I can have a look. I have saved many phones, so if it's not physical damage, we will work it out.
Thanks, Have added you on Gtalk

[Q] Desire stuck with fastboot only, S-ON, can't flash recovery

Hi,
I'm tryin to unbrick this device, it is stuck with the HTC logo, recovery doesn't boot, and I only have fastboot with S-ON.
I've tried the troubleshooting guide, but I can't make the goldcard, it gives me the next error:
Code:
./fastboot oem get_identifier_token
... INFO[ERR] Command error !!!
(yes, fastboot devices shows the device)
I've read somewhere that this happens because this method is not compatible with HBOOT 0.93.0001 (The one it has).
Both AlphaRev and revolutionary methods don't do anything, since (if I have understood correctly) they need a full working ROM (yes, i've tried anyways)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As far as I know there are no guides stickied on top of the Q&A forum which answer your issue directly, and I'm sure you did all the relevant research before posting. Well done.

Did you bother to read my post before answering?
If you had, you would have noticed that im basically saying: "I tried the method in the guide, plus 2 more methods, and it is still not working"
To clarify: the method in the guide (section 2, "Advanced Boot Problems", under S-ON) does NOT work (explained on my first post)
Guide also says if you cant use the phone to get the CID (which you cant), you should use the CID tool, and then continue the tutorial from the unlockr after they get it.
Well, based on this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347450
Whats wrong here is your hboot is not supported.
The HTC unlock method support the new HBOOT 2.xx. Either the official S-ON one or the leaked S-OFF.

I was asuming this answer was correct, I guess its not, i'll try what you are suggesting, thanks.
Yeah and if that doesnt aork you can *try* the 2.3 RUU, but that is a riskier option that can brick your phone (as i witnessed a few hours ago)
OP, you're saying you cant make a goldcard..Dont you have access to any other Android device that can?
I actually had a similar thing on my phone about a week ago no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to install a Recovery image and my phone was s-off I tried all the tutorials and they all failed. In the end I end up running a RUU from my carrier and that got it back to booting the original sense and then I used Revolutionary: S-OFF & Recovery Tool 0.4pre4 h.t.t.p://revolutionary.io/ to get a working recovery image back on and it worked (was the only thing that did). then I restored my CM7 backup I had made previously and it was just like I left it
I probably didn't need to use the ruu in the end

[Q] Phone stuck in bootscreen, no answer in troubleshoot

After breaking my previous desire i got a new one from insurance past friday. I s-off and rooted it with revolutionary and ran the alpharev cm7 r2 partition table. All went fine and i installed the CM 7.2 RC rom and started downloading all my apps and stuff.
All seemed fine untill i shutdown my phone last night and when booting it up this morning it doesn't boot up into anything. I can only get into Hboot and fastboot. I've tried booting into recovery but it gets stuck on the boot screen again.
Now i've read the Q&A troubleshooter posted above here and i have already tried reflashing recovery, which sadly still didn't boot after the reflash.
Now i'm completely stuck on what to do and have been searching for over an hour now.
I've read i could do a RUU for my phone, but seeing as alpharev has protection against that i'm not certain that would even help. What would be the best solution here to get my phone working again. (and if possible with the current data on it , i hadn't made a backup of the full install yet)
Edit: some extra info
Hboot 6.93.1002
Bravo PVT3 S-off
radio 5.11.05.27
CM 7.2 RC
clockwork, not sure newest version for desire afaik
Did you try to remove battery?
yes, seeing as that is the only option right now to turn my phone off .
I also ran fastboot oem gencheckpt to force boot into recovery. The phone got stuck at htc splashscreen. I posted the cmd image information in this post.
when i pulled the battery to shut down the phone, the cmd gave and "error, to many links"
edit:
i ran the alpharev downgrade image to overwrite my hboot and see if i could get into recovery after reflashing that aswell. Sadly this didn't work and after flashing both it still gets stuck at the htc splash screen
i ran the downgrade hboot again and will not try to fix it with a RUU
hmm, the phone is still recognized by the pc, but i have a black screen and can't get it to display anything. did i use a bad ruu or? I"m really confused now :|
after looking in the troubleshoot again i tried to flash the bravo stock from alpha rev, but i'm getting a FAILED <remote: signature verify fail>
well seeing as i most likelly need a goldcard now and don't have another android device laying around i will have to continue this tomorrow or tonight.
if ANYBODY has any advice everything is really appriciated!
what RUU did you flash?
if it was under 2.xx that means you did slcd brick have look here
flash bravo stock from alpharev, then run (if you have a goldcard) the 2.2 WWE RUU, or your carriers RUU (make sure it's the latest one)
Check shipped-roms.com
i think i ran this RUU
RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U _4.05.00.11_release_121865.exe
which i got from this post, which i now see is terribly out-dated xD.
I got my phone from vodafone in Holland, and i just saw an RUU for bravo that was shipped by vodafone UK which also supports the same radio as mine. Is it a safe bet to use that one for the recovery process?
I wasn't able to run any images right now from fastboot for some reason so i will indeed need to make a goldcard. Will do so tomorrow and report back if i've had any succes.
Thanks for the advise!
OK, so i'm a bit confused by that guide i'm afraid...
I've noticed that in step 4 that i'm unable to enter recovery (no surprise seeing as i was unable before the RUU).
I can boot in to fastboot and hboot i think seeing as i get the "device connected sound" in windows. When i then enter ADB devices or fastboot oem gencheckpt it gives me some information, which can be seen in the screenshot.
What i'm now confused about is, do i still need to make a goldcard, and if so how? I tried running that goldcard creater software but it couldn't pull a CID. Should i create a goldcard by just using a phone of my friend (desire s :|)? Or is it possible to just run the right RUU straight away seeing as i can connect to hboot and fastboot, let that run and when that is finished use revolutionary to root my phone agian.
Attached is the cmd for fastboot oem gencheckpt and adb devices, although normally the fastboot oem gencheckpt finished with a "FAILED <status read failed<too many links>>
Gimme bootloader information, also what state is the phone in now, and what have you tried so far. (quick summary)
My bad just read you last posts.
Try the Vodafone RUU, it should work, don't see why it shouldn't. If that fails, make a goldcard with your friends Desire S, and flash the 2.2 WWE RUU.
If that fails then use the 2.3 RUU.
Ah great!!! I ran the vodafone ruu and atleast now i'm getting fastboot and hboot displayed again.
I'll see how far i can get on my own now. Thanks alot for all your help
Darn, aren't there yet...
I can now get into fastboot and hboot WITH it being displayed so that is already a big plus. However i'm still on a off partition format so i need to flash that back to the original partition format.
I'm S-ON right now so i can't do it through fastboot.
So i made the goldcard through my friends phone and place a PB99IMG.zip containing the alpharev bravostock on the goldcard.
When i then boot into HBOOT it gives me the reading PB99IMG.zip but doesn't give me an option to run the update afterwards. I then checked with the RUU i ran from my pc and created an PB99IMG.zip of that and let it run from HBOOT thus checking if the goldcard was functional. This worked perfectly apart from the partition table being screwed.
How can i now either install recovery from my goldcard while being S-ON or how can i succesfully run the bravo_stock image from my goldcard?
edit: I know i could use the old s-off trick from alpharev but i would prefer to use revolutionary instead seeing as it's more up to date...
k i think i know what to do.
i'll just create a bootable USB with the 1.8 hboot from alpharev on it. S-off my device and restore the partitions to stock.
Then run the RUU again so that my phone returns to stock sense and S-on.
After that i should be the basic root process all over again by running revolutionary etc right?
If you're S-ON. You DO NOT need to touch the hboot, and you can't anyway.
If you've got a goldcard just try the WWE RUU. And if that doesn't fix it then the 2.3 RUU.
That's all you need to do. NOTHING else.
The 2.3 RUU (the vodafone one i downloaded) doesn't work.
I don't think any RUU will work for my seeing as i'm still on the CM 7 r2 partition layout instead of the original sense layout (a little mistake i made when running the first faulty RUU). I'll try to run the WWE RUU first, but i don't think it'll achieve anything.
If i would now run the alpharev 1.8 hboot from a bootable USB it shouldn't put my device at risk right? :|
Edit:
i'm actually getting CID incorrect from the WWE RUU from the troubleshoot thread and from another WWE RUU i downloaded from shipped-roms.com
edit2:
alright, i tried 2 WWE RUUs, which when ran from my PC give me ERROR[131]: customer-ID error and a CID incorrect when done from my goldcard... i also tried alpharev hboot 1.8 but that didn't work either for the obvious reason that you need to boot into android and enable usb debugging and the WWE RUUs for i do not know what reason .
Damn i thought i had figured it out before going to college but aparently i was wrong >.<
i don't know if it's relevant but when i try to boot normally i get the HTC splash screen and it vibrates 7 times in a row...
So i think my goldcard might not be as golden as it should be. Should i try it with my other microSD, the one that i actually use in my phone, an 16 gb kingston?
If so can i use the same goldcard.img or should i create a new one?

Dear god how many times do I just need to repeat myself.
Just download http://www.htcdev.com/process/legal_download/152 , boot into fastboot mode, then run RUU.exe
There is no vodafone 2.3 RUU, there is only one, and it is unbranded.

The 2.3 RUU always does something, if not for better than for worse.
ah right i'm sorry, i was a bit confused about that ruu because of some of the information displayed on shipped-rom.com. Prolly read it wrong or something.
Anyway the 2.3 RUU did indeed fix it! quite surprised after all this really didn't expect it! Thanks out a load and i'm sorry for touching a nerve there, it's just the first time doing anything like this so it was all a tad bit confusing!

[Q] Reflashing to stock / RUU

Hi Folks,
Having some serious issues with my HTC One X
Upon recieving the device I left it on stock for a couple days and then flashed to ARHD 5.2 by unlocking the bootloader via HTCDev and flashed the rom, allwas awesome.. I have now since seen that yellow tea marks are appearing on one side of the screen, so I would like to return the handset to a stock state so that I may return under warranty.
Here is what I did:
Relocked the boot loader
Flashed stock recovery
This resulted in a security error and the phone refused to boot into anything but the boot loader...
almost identical to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649737
I have now solved this boot issue by reflashing the latest custom recovery, and the phone now boots into a nandroid backup that I have restored of the stock ROM.
I have tried to use several RUU's and they all halt after the reboot into bootloader phase (where it erases user data, writes the rom and then does something with signatures)...and the handset itself just stays on a black screen with a HTC logo and there are no progress bars or indication of things happening.. until the RUU errors with 155 (unknown error)
After looking at several threads I have become stuck and would really appreciate some advice
Here are the current details of my phone:
Sim free UK handset
HBOOT-0.94.0000
Radio-1.1204.104.14
CID - I have tried to gather this via fastboot, but it comes up as NONE
(also tried getprop ro.cid via the adb shell but this just errors)
Not sure if it makes any difference but I have also tried the HTC One X AIO Kit.. but any commands it sends error with indications that It cannot locate a device
Please please help

Where did you get the unit from originally? Was it branded?
This is why you should get the RUU BEFORE flahsing a new ROM

It was purchased from phones4u online.. the phone came unbranded, and is on a vodafone contract.
I am sorry about the RUU.. I wasnt aware it was something you had to acquire first..
You don't HAVE to get it first, it just means you don't have to panic about which one to use!!!
If it's unbranded then 1.29.401.7 or 1.29.401.11 will do the job (I'd go for .11)
Relock the bootloader and run the RUU when in fastboot and you should be good to go!

Spot on mate, I relocked the bootloader and the status reads "*** RELOCKED ***"
The RUU also ran perfectly, thanks for that
Would I just flash a stock recovery to restore the bootloader now? (so that it doesnt say RELOCKED)
I want to ensure that the phone is in the exact shape it needs to be before sending back.
Thanks again
It'll always say relocked - you can't do anything about that...
Ah thats a shame, should be a doorstep swap for a replacement handset anyways so thats probably no issue.
Thanks again mate, you have saved my bacon
-Run your RUU and wait for a complete load.
-go to windows>run and write: %temp%. Find a folder that contains a file called: rom.zip. Get the boot_signed.img and recovery_signed.img.
-flash boot_signed.img and recovery_signed.img.
-fastboot erase cache
-fastboot oem lock
-Do a factory reset with the new recovery.
-Now run your RUU and everything gonna be ok

OP has already got it done, just asked if you could change the bootloader to say 'LOCKED' as it does out the box as opposed to 'RELOCKED'
RUU
So I have kind of a problem, I wanted to unlock my bootloader, only HTCDEV servers are a couples of days now overloaded.
So I can't get the unlock code bin.
I need to use my phone and it won't start normally because new firmare was flashed in RUU mode with JBWFTOOL.
So I want to flash a stock RUU. Only my main version is 3.14.401.41.
My phone was repaired by HTC and I got it back LOCKED and well.
Can I flash a other version RUU or do I have to wait for HTCDEV becoming normal again.
HOX E11 Europe.

I am not doomed right?
Are you sure.....you don't have 3.14.401.31 as a software number ?

http://androidfiles.org/ruu/securek...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe
Put the phone in the bootloader/fastboot usb mode and right click the ruu.exe and select
Run as adminstrator

Are you on MM firmware or N?
Also S-OFF is the way to go.

I was on latest stock nougat before I started the process. since the I have tried flashing both leedroid marshmallow zip and the nougat magisk zip also. and what's the deal with s-off?
Everywhere i look they're all how to's about s-off lol. seems hard to find a thread on what s-off is, if it's needed to for a specific ROM or not :/ that being said leedroid it wasn't needed as quoted below. thanks!
If you wish to s-off first, please follow >> THIS GUIDE << by @jcase & return when your device is back up and running.
First boot will take approximately 15 minutes due to Art optimization

hmmmm according to that post the TWRP i flashed should have reverted on reboot and that hasn't been the case at all since it has survived multiple reboots... any thoughts on that?
"...Basically, all changes made to these partitions while the phone is running is not permanent, and will be reset upon a reboot..."
EDIT: also does that mean unless I have S-off none of the custom ROMs will flash? so what's the point of unlocking a bootloader is that needs to be disabled also

Keep in mind the date on that post is from a few years back (2012). You can't put all your eggs into one basket, so to speak. I was just giving you 1 article I found from a simple Google Search. Encryption and TWRP have changed quite a lot, especially since Nougat.
From my small amount of time, I think you may be confused about what the difference is between an unlocked bootloader and S-OFF, which I'd need to even go back and read that article, but thought it touched a little on it
The 10 has changed quite a bit too from past phones. Before you'd need to be S-OFF and unlocked bootloader. Now S-OFF unlocked and S-OFF locked are basically the same, but that can be found in threads if you'd like to find more info on that.
Most the info is there, you just need to search. If you need help finding articles, I can try and help with that. I've been surprised with the great info I've found after awhile of coming up empty.
I'm just now seeing all the new posts that came from before I posted and have been on my phone and don't have the time to catch up on it all right now.
Hope things get squared away for you soon, I'll check in when I can.
It seemed you were in a simple bootloop, but I'm not 100%. I think your issue was flashing MM ROM on N firmware. Can't do that.
Also, Verizon doesn't allow us to unlock bootloader on Htc-dev. So if we want to root, we must S-OFF.

What method have you tried for the SW?
is it an RUU or just firmware?
I suggest the sdcard method.
Make sure to have the correct htc_fastboot.exe over the standard fastboot.exe, this could be the cause of your failure.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24545065934258327
Either remove your current fastboot.exe and rename this one to it, or keel it as htc_fastboot.exe and use the correct, htc_fastboot flash, over fastboot flash

bear in mind I'm still learning all this HTC stuff lol
is it an RUU or just firmware? It's an RUU.exe for HTC 10 unlocked edition that i got from there website
I suggest the sdcard method. you mean installing custom ROM zip from sd card? otherwise i'm not sure what you mean.
Make sure to have the correct htc_fastboot.exe over the standard fastboot.exe, this could be the cause of your failure. hmmm well I used fastboot.exe from minimal adb & fasboot to unlock bootloader and that worked fine, and should i still i just replace fastboot in platform tools folder with fastboot.exe from htc website?
also so s-off shouldn't be needed to install the ROMs? just bootloader unlock?

Keep in mind this is me helping in my free time.
Use the linked htc_fastboot.. It's made for htc, it's why I mentioned it..
I've seen many ppl have RUU fail by not using this.
Also an RUU/firmware have 3 methods to install.
I suggest the sd-card method. Safest.
Search. Search. Search. ...
Option 1
Copy 2PS6IMG.zip (THIS IS FOR VERIZON, YOUR CARRIER WILL NEED TO BE RENAMED CORRECTLY) to root of a physical SD formatted to fat32. No exfat! No internal storage! Must be external SD formated to fat32!
Reboot phone to download mode and follow prompts once RUU is detected by phone.
Option 2
EXE option. Download EXE file below (for windows) and simply double click to start. You can either be booted to OS with USB debugging enabled OR booted into download mode for this to start.
Option 3
Fastboot RUU mode . This method assumes you have a working ADB/Fastboot directory on your PC. Download RUU zip file and place in your working fastboot/adb directory. Boot your phone to download mode and connect to PC. Issue the following commands.
htc_fastboot oem rebootRUU
###while in this mode your phone will display an HTC logo on the screen
htc_fastboot flash zip 2PS6IMG.zip
##while in this mode you will see an HTC logo on the screen and a green status bar across the bottom of the screen. When command output ##completes it may say reboot required to flush etc... if that's the case issue a "htc_fastboot reboot-bootloader" command and restart option 1 again.
## assuming flash completes and no further flushing/reboots are requested from the cmd output you can now reboot IF you simply wish to reboot the system you can issue "htc_fastboot reboot" which will reboot system.
## expect a good 5 minute plus first boot!

Also read here. This is a great thread.
There's a lot of info out there.
Just search and do your homework.
It's easy to turn that device into a useless brick.
Especially being S-OFF... Secuirty-off..
I know it can be overwhelming, but the info is out there, and if not, just ask, as others most likely have the same question and this will help them.
And correct, with S-OFF isn't needed to flash ROMs. Only bootloader unlock.

my bad, i hope i didn't come off rude or anything. i do appreciate all your help and i understand it. I do the same here when i have the free time.
I will ask some question's on both those threads you linked. I came across one of them but no s-off and didn't wanna pay for sunshine app. also topjohnwu thread about stock and guides would be helpful if it listed which phones the code names correlate to.
in the end I see your point, keep researching and asking. and I do that very often and promise. today was different since a bunch of PC failed to install updates at work (post wannacry) lol and dealing with my bootlooping phone, my mind was scattered. iv'e bricked before but never on a phone this expensive *__*
thanks again andy!
JUST AN UPDATE: i restored via twrp after i got the bootlooping to stop. I completely forgot I had made one -__- (more scatter brains) so I'm good to go now.... kinda.

You didn't come off rude at all, I was actually hoping you didn't take my response as being rude. S-OFF and sunshine is completely worth the $25. However, for a normal user like yourself, you don't need it.
Glad to hear that you're somewhat good to go, lol.
You can always pm me or tag me in a post if needed and I'll do my best to help.

1st things 1st, SOS is no more. was trying to flash leedroid magisk file, thinking it was a ROM until i noticed the file size so I went back to stock via TWRP backup (i forgot I made) since RUU was giving 155 error.
2nd the HTC fastboot wasn't working for some reason.. adb devices cmd detected nothing, it worked at my job though since i have android studio/platform tools there (shrug) so used that fastboot instead.
3rd I did mean SW 2.48.617.1 that's the exact OS version # that download mode reports currently and was the last official update i took several days before going custom route.
