Uninstall Google+ App without breaking Gallery? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

BUT I realy realy want to remove the Google+ App from my Device, but if I remove of deactivate G+ App the Gallery stops working every time.
Does anyone knows how I can delete it without any trouble? Maybe there is some secrect connection (something else than the Photo Sync what I have allready disabled)
Maybe someone can help me thanks in advance

So far you can't... I have tried several ways and in the end it always FC.

I have premium and it doesn't matter how many times or ways I remove google+ it still messes it up....

Paul O'Brien's ROM allows it, he re-wrote the Gallery app to work without Google+
It's part of his online kitchen on MoDaCo

question @ Paul so in theory can all unwanted apps be removed in a similar manner ? if so what steps would be necessary ? Thanks in advance and BTW thanks for contributing as always
That's fantastic! I can't wait to remove the bloatware from my g2! Any way to make a universal app that allows you to select the program to be removed? I'm not sure what sort of code that was involved with making your app work, but it seems like you could make a script based on the app that a user selects (like amazon mp3 or google earth).

Paul, you are fantastic. I'm more than happy to donate what I can for all your work. And I think its great you are using those donations to support childhood leukemia. A great cause.
And should I manage to full root, that's where the 'bounty' would go too.

I'm not being impatient, just making a suggestion. I figured he would be doing something along those lines, but I don't make too many assumptions.

How will this affect the OTA should they decide to include a fix for the goggles problem. Could there be a problem patching files that aren't there?
Thanks for all your hard work

I tip the burger I am eating in your favor! Awesome work!! I already used it, and updated goggles.
This is terribly brilliant. I read the explanation of the mechanism on the other forum - fooling the G2 into deleting files permanently from /system.
So the question is, are there any specific files in /system that, if deleted, could open up a further vulnerability to full root? This just got a lot more interesting
Any change of getting an app to remove all the bloatware in one shot?

No, when the phone is turned on, at some point the filesystem is turned to read only. As i understand it, they dont know what flips the switch at this point. esentially, we do actually know how to root the device, we just dont know how to accept writes to the system. paul has simply figured out how to trick the system into deleting files before the system turns into write protected. we still cant add anything to it, though.

Root Call Blocker testers needed

Hello everyone! Im the dev of Root Call Blocker, an app that acts as a call and sms firewall.
I would be grateful if someone tested the app for any issues!
You can find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051274
Please let me know if you have any issues with voicemail or google voice - people on the market just never report issues correctly!
Hi,
I just started using the app today, didn't have the time to test it yet.
can you please explain the reject methods? basically I don't want anyone calling me to get the filling I hung up - the hang up should be immediate.
I'll update later on my impression of the app, for now I can say I loved that it has so many options for defining block policies and defining white / black lists. most apps I've seen don't come with all those options.
I already tested that app last week. I didn't like it, that's all.
Regards.

Outstanding issues have been fixed. Please update to 1.5.5 and let me know if your issues are solved. Its important we get some feedback guys!
For me everything is working perfectly. No issues to report for about a month now!
We have just made lots of additions, Update please if you havent already please!
Any issues with 1.6.2?
Working great here, thanks for this most awesome app!

I said what I thought. It's been long since I last used it, seeing there is an upgrade, will test it again tomorrow and post back.
Last time, as far as I could remember there was no difference between this app and the in built Samsung Call Blocker other than the name of this app
Regards.
Would paying the 1.98 make it upgrade to Project Omega automatically later? and What exactly is Omega??
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Why would you assume that? The people that need to know what Omega is already do.
Anyway - there have been a lot of upgrades, and this app has always been the best call blocker on android - built in or not!
I think i know about OMEGA - theres been plenty of talk over at 4pda

+1 also try clearing app data.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda app-developers app
were you using the facebook app itself to do this (assuming there is a way), or the auto upload setting within the camera app?
i've had this before when uploading pics manually. sounds like yours maybe stuck in the middle somehow..
Well i dont think its a ROM issue because i havent flashed any custom ones yet, all ive done is run the setup wizard then try to cancel the auto upload? who knows, what ill do is root my phone and flash a new ROM and thatll sort it!

[Q] custom ROM camera problem

sorry guys, since i couldn't post my problem on the development section, i posted my question here.
I am running CyanogenMod 10 Nightlies 4.1.2. I noticed the photos i take with the stock camera app cannot be seen. The photos seem to be fine when i use a third party app (Pudding camera).
Is this a known issue? i am just asking around to confirm if its a problem with the ROM and not an outcome of my stupidity. Otherwise its a brilliant ROM. thanx.

No, it's not a known problem, at least I don't have it.
They don't appear at all in the gallery app?
Go to application manager (rough translation)
Clear data from these apps:
Gallery
Media storage
Then reboot and you should be fine.
thank you

No... because it depends on systemUI and android.policy.jar
You should mod it

Strange, on my phone, after installer a couple of kitkat apps (google services, hangout, camera, keep, search, clock) there is no more "contacts" nor "phone calls" (the dialler) to be seen in my apps panel. Can't call anybody anymore :/
and hangout is always slow as hell to launch and work with (tends to kind of "freeze" on an empty screen page while loading / waiting for god knows what). Was used to this lagggggy UI with hangout, but it can't be so sluggish for SMS.

Try greenify from the play store. Your phone might be running out of memory or over loading the CPU. I don't have a single problem. The hangout app actually works faster than the SMS app for me!
Really weird that the phone and contacts apps disappeared though. Something went wrong somewhere. If you don't want to wipe then you can probably dirty flash your ROM to get them back.

No. It doesn't work yet. It FC's. Something is required somewhere. If we figure out what it is then I or someone will post it for you.
I've gotten all the Kitkat apps on my phone and I have no problems at all. I'm glad to see they finally updated their ugly email app. And the camera rotates a lot faster than before. Google Now is awesome. I had mixed feelings about the new launcher at first but its growing on me. The keyboard seems more responsive too. Also, the hangouts app isnt all that laggy for me. It does take a second to load everything when forst opened but after that, its fine. SMS works great with it in my case. Overall, they are great updates. I can't wait to try out the Kitkat OS.

First of all, I downloaded apps from here:
http://www.droid-life.com/2013/10/3...om-the-nexus-5-dump-search-launcher-and-more/
After you get them on your sdcard, most of them can just be installed like normal apk files.

This is just a thought. But when I installed most of these, I was installing them over system apps or I was moving them to system/app to make them system apps. Maybe that makes a difference.
Anyone using the new Google Keyboard? I found out you can type a whole sentence now with the swipe guesture without raising your finger. The space bar is recognized as a swipe input now. I think the developer(s) of the Swype keyboard did that not that long ago but now its in the stock keyboard. Just thought I'd share.
When you were running on jelly bean, did you had any problems receiving or sending any MMS on hangouts?
