Okay, this may or may not be in the correct forum, but it's a question. I think the icons are horribly ugly, especially the camera. I know it's not quite rooted yet and it's not super high up on everyone's list, but would anyone be able to help me out with getting better looking stock Android 2.1 icons on there or maybe make an icon pack that replaces the ones on there with 2.1 stock icons? Thanks in advance.

BetterCut?
I tried Better Cut with mine and the stock 2.0 icon pack. The icons are low res and look kind of bad on the large Evo screen.
With the size of the Evo screen you will really want to get More Icons. Trust me on this, it is perfect for this phone.
I've never heard of BetterCut, but it seems like it won't work. My girlfriend has a Nexus and those icons are very classy and would work very well with the Evo, I think. And I just want to replace them completely, not have extra.
One thing i hate about the Sense look is the application bar (the thing at the bottom of the screen with buttons. haha dont know the correct name)
I am currently running Sense 2.2 so i was wondering would it be possible to edit the HTC Rosie.apk so it looks like the Android or maybe LauncherPro bar?
Reason i ask is if i use launcherpro, i can no longer use the sense widgets... so my thinking was, edit this to make it look better.
Any help would be appreciated, ive started looking at this myself (decompiled the rosie.apk) but im not exactly a pro programmer
I 'm actually interested in this too.
Anyone?
I am Running DeFrost,
And Yes its amazing!!
But a question that i cannot find a straight answer too,
Is there lack of Widgets for FroYo or is it the Firmware?
Or
Is it as simple as an App that needs downloading and installing and you gets your Widgets?
I miss just a couple of Widgets, One is my Emails
I had my Live and Gmail on 2 Different Pages on the Home Screen,
And Some Toggles, (Oh and the odd Clock)
Now i know i can do the Toggles easy with switch pro widget and extended controls widget
But what about my Email Widget :-(
There is no Sense UI in FroYo rom's so no htc widgets, you can try DJDROID rom which has Sense UI on Froyo

Sense 4 is alright as it is. However, I'd like to figure out a way to skin the current dock bar. Does anyone have a n00b guide out there?
I don't want to replace the Sense Launcher with Nova or Apex, since that'll basically disabled Sense widgets which is not a big deal but since a lot of other elements will remained skinned (in Sense) it would look worse to combine Sense with the AOSP-look
So in short, I want to be able to skin the current dock bar oh and also, does anyone know to replace the icons quick and easy? or are we looking at decompiling the framework-res.apk files and hack away?
Thanks!
Hi guys just thought I'd share this here.... Its nothing at all to do with me, but I thought it was worth sharing
This is from miuiandroid.com so all the thanks need to go there because this is just fantastic...
MIUI HOME LAUNCHER
That is made to work on any ICS device
Make your phone look like MIUI with the stability of your normal rom
As far as I can tell you can use themes too.... Although they are limited to Icons, Wallpaper and Lockscreen
But it might just keep us going till full version is released

5M, 40 min to download? what server is this?
I'm guessing China
Really nice, thanks a lot for the info mate
Could you also tell me how you did you get your status bar to look like stock ICS please ?
Bro my phone and people contacts(and also so many icons) not changed...pls help how you did it...

I'm on the jdroid exodized rom which has those icons in the status bar anyway... Its only a home replacement so it doesn't change a lot, its not like a miui rom and has no where as many of the features that miui has, it just gives the look of a miui rom. Go into themes and can you see what you can change, its basically wallpapers, lockscreen and icons. When I tried it it changed all my icons to the miui ones....

These are excellent news, I'm looking forward to full version. This version is a little bit laggy.
Really cool! Thank you!
