If you have a TV card in your PC and can connect to your pc remotely over the web, you can use:
http://www.umediaserver.net
Works well, and you can change channels remotely using the TVChannelChanger asp page.
slingbox or orb
this is nice, I will try it, seems to be what I looking for a long time.

Hi,
I use the bbc iplayer service to stream radio broadcasts via Opera Mobile and the HTC streaming media application. This works great unless I want to turn off the screen or flip to another application whilst listening to the stream - as soon as I do this the stream pauses. I can't seem to find any options to allow the streaming media player to run in the background while I get on with something else.
Is this possible ?
Thanks
David
Hi Folks I could'nt find a forum for Introduction so I will just do it here with my first thread. I hope this is ok. Nice community here and do hope to contribute and share in the wealth of knowledge.
I just installed Dreamstreamoid configured it on both my HTC desire HD and PC wth VLC1.15. I could connect via 3g load bouquets and channel list from my Vu+ but when I try to stream a channel via VLC stream this message comes up: 'Relative path:192.168..../requests/status/xml' and goes back to channel list. Then If I check Vplayer it loads as if it wants to stream and just blanks out again. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi
Have you read the help pages?

If you want to stream over 3G with a VLC server, you can't use VPlayer.
Either VLC or VPlayer!

I've been using the 'imediashare app' to stream videos from the One X to the xbox 360 from my windows 7 laptop, but always get 'this format is not supported', I downloaded the optional codecs to support mp4, but still the same problem. The only way I found to stream video is to use Windows media centre, but then videos play back really slowly and buffer all the time, it's a bit of a pain that I'm trying to find the solution to.
Anyone found the solution?
Ok, so how many of you managed to get a working stream over the internet using the available apps (AndroidDreamer, Dreamdroid) or connecting directly to the stream using VLC or MX Player or something?
I can't seem to get the box to stream outside....
Ideally without having to transcode on PC using VLC server or something....direct stream Enigma2 over internet to OneX.
Thx!
