Since ICS brings all these UI changes, I thought it would be nice to post some ICS-optimized apps here. For example, the pre-installed Google apps integrate nicely with ICS, thanks to their usage of ICS UI elements.
Have you guys/girls found apps that were updated/made to use these elements on ICS? I haven't found any yet.
The FriendCaster app has a pretty ICS look, especially if you look at the friend profile page. Very similar to the People app.
The colours are all blue and Facebook-ish though.

Not sure if some of you have come across Any.Do, but i found this to be one of the best apps i have used.

Great app, good find.
Sent from my phone, not yours.
this is really a good app, very organizable and convenient
This is one of apps you should have.
I used it to manage my "to-do" list, and missed call reminder, sync with google tasks... etc.

awesome todo app.
also like the "wunderlist"
I also really like Any.Do but there's just one thing that i hate about it: the splash screen and the starting time.
The app is not slow but it coul be a bit faster
Loved the clean and elegant UI, not fancy!
I have been trying out different themes for my phone, but what I came to notice is that not all of the icons match the theme and stay stock, and it looks stupid. Is there any way around this?
usually theme creators only theme the most common apps
Guess you gotta stick with the themes that don't mod the icons then

are you talking about sense skin apks, or aosp theme engine apks? very different
Don't think most themes change all icons

I'm talking about themes downloaded from the market for ADW.Launcher on CM7.2 RC3.
Your not going to find an adw theme that changes all apps. What you can do is if there is a popular app that is not themed, you can always contact the dev and ask nicely that it be put into the next update. I think a lot of devs just hit the basics and post to market quickly to make a few bucks. But some of the better ones will actually take the time to listen to their customers and incorporate requests.

What about some of the lettered icon packs?(Icon pack A,B,C, etc.) I've noticed there are a few if them, so maybe try those and see if they have what you're looking for.
A couple of devs have even posted numerous packs of 50-100 icons each....they are paid, but they should cover just about everything.

Also some themes don't have direct replacment icons, rather, they have a lot of generic icons. For instance, if you use a 3rd party twitter app, you can use the stock Twitter icon.

Just flashed cm10 and loving it but missing a couple of apps that were on the stock Rom
Anyone have the apk for these apps or know where I can get them?
- rotating live wallpaper (where you can select your own photos)
- smart alarm with gradual wake-up
- battery percentage apk
I really miss those apps but otherwise love cm 10
Thanks!

I believe that most, if not all, Samsung Touchwiz apps have a different framework than that of AOSP so they're not compatible on AOKP/CM10 (other way around still works, you can use AOSP apps on any Sammy ROM). There are most likely similar apps to the ones you're currently searching on the Play Store.
They are Touchwiz specific apps made by Samsung.. not just missing from cm 10.. they wont work without TW.. there are some ROMs on here that blend aokp look/feel with TW, try one of those. On a side note, this is really a Q&A thread, Apps/themes section is for posting actual apps and themes.. not just asking about them. I know our forum is blended and not like that but it is supposwd to be.

I recently switched to an Epic 4G (thanks to Asurion) because my numerous Evo Shifts were giving me lots of trouble,
I'm looking for a decent SMS app that sends and receives text/mms messages, and nothing more. (i've been using GoSMS and i've become very dissatisfied lately).
I'm also looking for a good launcher or overlay, as i'm not terribly fond of the Galaxy S theme, or a non-root method of getting advanced system settings (changing the lock screen/style, for example).
Would love to hear any recommendations.
Thanks,
__Jed
For messaging, what I used to use was Chompsms. It emulates iOS messaging and you can change the theme to however you want to, plus it has iOS 6 emojis (if you care). This was and still is one of my favorite messaging apps.
And for launcher...I think ADW Launcher got an update, I'm not too sure.

I'm enjoying Lightning Launcher; it's fast and flexible.
I would recommend tsf shell or go launcher for there customization level over adw and most others. I'm currently using tsf shell which is great on battery time where add go launcher isn't. Go launcher had more free themes in play store where add tsf doesn't but u can get tsf themes free in aptoid. For lock screens the best is go locker, mxlock or milocker which is not on play store. U can just google milocker apk on google and get it.

The new and improved adw ex is worth the money. I like the tw 5 launcher on top of cm10.1
Its awesome

Little late to the party here but Handcent is my favorite SMS app. Customizable and you can also create an account to back up your settings incase your phone bonks out on you or you get a new phone.
I have seens some really fantastic home screens lately online. those that seem non standard (at least for me), like having the link to an app not as a square on your screen but as text instead (and not written vertically or horizontally, but diagonally).
is that part of the rom they are using or themese? Is it possible for the arc s? If so, any info?
Sounds like it's just a different launcher, you can get pretty much any to work with your phone, as an apk, or as a theming app from the play store, which is where you get the themes, however narrowing it down to what theme it was, is your job

When I first joined here the thread I read everyday was the "post a screen shot" in the X10 section, you'll learn a lot from it and come across the apps and mods used by others to create their unique Home screens.
It's probably just an app or a combination of apps. Try looking for multicon, minimalist text, icon changer, font installer, etc etc

Several app widgets are applied to get that effect, try uccw r visit mycolourscreen.com, there's tons f tips n tricks on customizations over there
