I like the new features for saving voicemails to sdcard but the drop down seems cheap.

I didnt see it either. Though I did get a text telling me how to enable emergency "texts" from our president, no thanks!

I just updated as well. I don't have the Data Collection Agreement option either... Of course, I'm rocking StrongSteve's fully odex'ed noCIQ noDRM ROM, which may have something to do with that.

Anyone pull the apk? Whenever I try to run the update, the install fails. Not sure where sprint is downloading to update to.

I don't use Google Voice.
Or, rather, I use it, but I don't have it linked to my phone. I like having the separate phone number.
I give out my Google Voice number to anyone I have a feeling might use it to generate marketing calls. I get the voicemail notifications from GV on my phone, and I can listen to them or not, but they never ring my phone, which is what I want.

Honestly I loathe cwm, I would love to see ra recovery on this beast.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Actually, the ACS CWM4 based recovery hasn't failed on me once and the pre-theme install wipe and pre-ROM install wipe options and the other goodies make it so fast and easy to flash. One "yes" click wipes either Cache and Dalvik or all 3.

I haven't messed with cwm3.x because I've never used a custom rom, or ext4. So I have no need to upgrade. Although, I will soon because I intend to start using revolted rom, for however long I have the epic.

I am already picking through everything I have (which is a lot) and trying to pick a setup I want to keep on my Epic. I am used to flashing 2 ROMs a day for testing and the past few days the devs have been eerily quiet. I hope some people keep on dev-ing for the Epic because once it gets official GB, it should have a rebirth in development. Hell, I have 6 or 7 unreleased kernels...the devs are holding some things back. That being said, I am looking for a rock solid setup (with Hotspot hack naturally) so I can play on my new toy instead of having to focus on my Epic because of a RAM leak or other random issue. It looks like I will be on a Froyo setup and just test the GB stuff on my Epic for a while. Is it Friday yet?!

Will the release of ICS for Sprint's Nexus S help CM9 for the Epic?

I saw the report that Sprint's Nexus S should get ICS starting tomorrow (given that the source becomes available)
Will this help out with CM9 at all, specifically the video issues, or is the hardware to different?

It should definitely help plus being able to grab the voicemail app will help those that can't get it working.

I am actually liking Google Voice for voicemail. Who'da thunk it.
Apparently it already is. I think they borrowed some of the drivers from it
It actually won't. The crespo devs already ported cm9 a long while ago and we can use that source.

That was the main reason I asked, as I thought our CM9 was derived from the Crespo, and was unsure if the Nexus S would be any help, though I figured it would at least provide ICS apps.

+1 on GV.... I use Google Voice as it kicks the crap of the Sprint VM system. I get to keep all my VM's for life, download and email them to anyone I want, and also can block people from being able to leave me a VM based upon their phone number. I really dont see any value to using the Sprint VM system but I am sure someone else may.

GPS fix on ICS roms.

I've been reading how some people have GPS on fb17 and some don't. I haven't tested this yet so if someone does please let me know. I remember on the original epic on the dk28 Froyo leak in order for GPS to work you had to get a GPS lock first and then Odin to the leak. (For those original epic users u might remember this) im wondering if this is true for this leak. I haven't tested this out but I will later today. So for those that can't get a GPS lock Odin back to EL29 and get a good GPS lock. Go back into download mode and odin FB17. hopefully GPS will now work.

I remember this dirty little fix from the OG Epic. It actually did work on that phone. I have actually gotten this idea and tired this 2 days ago and it didn't work. This was with the tar stock odex version. even trying different modems.
It wasn't until I flashed Caulks rooted, deodex version that GPS instantly worked. So I know, that works better for me at least.

Or you can open the existing app and go to Settings>check for update, and you will be updated to 5.3.0.30, a very similar version.

It looks nice. The icon changed also. I like this icon way better lol
I've been getting the 9016 text message for my voicemails and they aren't showing in the VVM app. Anyone have the OG version? I want to try to see if VVM works for me on the stock app.
This is just begging for a theme. Just another reason i ditched vvm a few years ago.
I use youmail. Its free and works great. The better youmail app in the market is awesome too. Use the dark ics theme. Its basically inverted.
And u can get voice transcription there too. Designate different voicemails for different co tacts.
Highly reccomend it. Its in the market and www.youmail.com

So yea, I wasn't using a CM Rom. It was with Blazer Rom. The problem didn't lie with the Voicemail app, it was my Avast Mobile Security app. The app likes to block all SMS from communicating with certain apps, like the Sprint Visual Voicemail. As soon as I uninstalled the app, my voicemail was working and no more 9016 texts.
Avast is aware of this, no word on a fix from them yet.
Thanks for this.
