Hi jfrubiom,
I believe that this is a multi csc and is made specially for the country's above, some settings and stuff may be diferent, but since i'm kinda new to the samsung stuff, not exactly sure.
OXX *Multi CSC* (for Austria, Baltic, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Switzerland)
About the language, yes it brings spanish i believe that despites de csc the roms have support to all languages.
Cheers

There is not a official CyanogenMod for the Galaxy Gio, however phiexz is developing a build to the Gio, and despite it's only available as beta, it works really well you could see more details here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337178
About the default ROM, well, you have to see what is your current and official firmware, and if there is available on the internet you can simply flash it using Odin. In Samsung kies it will be detected as the original firmware, cause they are

anybody have S5660XXKS5 rom with a2sd enabled (installrecovery.sh enabled in init.rc?) If there is, woulld be nice if the link can be posted in the thread many thanks
will this ROM solve the disconnecting wifi problem?
Hi everybody, I'm new to Android.
I have this phone and I have installed the S5660XXKS2.
The first most obvious problem I have is that wifi keeps disconnecting, which I understand is fairly popular..
do you suggest me to upgrade to this ROM,
will it solve this issue or do we have to wait for 2.3.6?
Thank you
cheers

Hey. New guy over here (to this forum and to android in general).
I've a question, did the Galaxy Gio can be moded (flashed, change ROM, etc.) in any version? I ask this because i own a GT-S5660L (note the bolded "L") and don't know if this means there is something different with it that can be flunked or if can brick my phone. So far i've rooted it, installed CWM and so far all looks good. I want to use Cyanogen (or other ROM) but i want to be perfectly sure if i can or how to do it.
Thanks in advance and see you all aorund here.
Give it a shot, make sure you backup first, or have a recovery method sorted. The only way you'd ever know is to try.
Well. I give it a shot with Cyanogenmod 7.2 and it "worked" like a charm, vast improvement overall but with some (expected) bugs, otherwise this rocks. I'll try new thing now that i flashed and successfully bringed my phone to a new world.
Good to hear.
Rule 1. Always make a backup.
Hi,
Does someone have a download link since Hotfile is down?
I found a link to depositfiles in russian but don't know if I can trust it. (I can't post the link since I'm new)
Any help would be welcome
Thanks

Who can give me stock rom??because i want to make a rom.If stock rom is format .tar how use this in kitchen?need to change .tar to .zip?
You said in my topic("anyone can give me stock rom") to post here and i posted
So, here are my question about ROM's :
1) What is the real goal of a ROM ? Providing new themes and cool fonts ? Does it improves performance or does it comes with real new fonctionnalities ?
2) I tried some ROM like Hybrid, Sense Aurora.. But after installing them on my phone, the french language (yes, I am ) wasn't available. Should I change CSC after installing a new ROM ?
3) Now a question a bit more technical (I study in computer sciences).. Why a ROM like CyanogenMod need a custom Kernel ?
Thank you in advance

i tried to reply to your message but it seem you cant recive messages.
you can get one from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800.XXLA2 is the latest european.but kitchen cant decompile these img files.you must use a backup from your rom.thats the way i did it.but also download the firmware from the link igave to take the boot.img from there.
So, here are my question about ROM's :
1) What is the real goal of a ROM ? Providing new themes and cool fonts ? Does it improves performance or does it comes with real new fonctionnalities ?
well on another phone i had before this...
i had csutom settings,,
like management of governors and io...in return both either gives you better response or save battery..
my older phone doesnt support gb or live wallpapers.so after doing a custom rom..i now had that features..
as for the galaxy y..
so far the custom rom are just themed and a2sd support and removed bloatware,,
make your phone fast and lite but still basically is pretty much like the stock roms...
just looks better,functionality,,
naaa,,,long way to go,,
a2sd was just made to work couple of days ago...
no oc,no undervoltage..so nothing much really..
2) I tried some ROM like Hybrid, Sense Aurora.. But after installing them on my phone, the french language (yes, I am ) wasn't available. Should I change CSC after installing a new ROM ?
there are instructions on each rom on how to install,,,
3) Now a question a bit more technical (I study in computer sciences).. Why a ROM like CyanogenMod need a custom Kernel ?
for the above mentioned,,,
cm,,is a very customizable rom itself,,
without the custom kernel,,its just a themed stock rom...
Thank you in advance

But I'm not sure I understand about languages.. All the ROM's comes with their own CSC, specific to the dev, but if I want french language, can I replace manually CSC directory on the ROM by mine which comes from my device to get this languages or it is more complicated ?

csc can also be found..

as long as you know which files are for...
odin basically has labels on em...so just find the file save on pc flash on look for the box in odin that says csc or pda grab the file and click start..and wait...and pray electricity doesnt go bonkers...

Every Stock ROM has 3 parts:
PDA, CSC, Modem
PDA - it is the kernel, Android OS, the user interface, and all the applications
CSC - Carrier Specific Configuration (maybe) - this part has setting for a given provider's setup (Internet access, voicemail numbers, default homepages, sometimes carrier bloatware, etc...)
Modem - this is the phone, wifi, bluetooth, fm radio functionality
The naming convention of a Stock ROM package specifies, which languages, network providers and communication frequencies supported by a given pack.
For example:
S5360XXLA2_S5360OXXLA2_RST_S5360XXLA2_HOME.tar.md5
S5360DXLA1_S5360OLBLA1_S5360DXLA1_HOME.tar.md5
The package name consist of the following parts in order: PDA, CSC, Modem
coding
PDA:
S5360 - implicit, the phone model
XX: landcode - specifies which countries, languages supported by the user interface. In this case XX is multilang european build for countries Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, languages de,en,es,fr,hu,it,nl,pt(cs,da,el,fi,no,pl,sl,sv,tr )
DX: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam. Languages: en,id,ms,th,vi,zh(ta)
LA2 - version build identifier: L for 2012, A for January, 2 for second build
CSC:
S5360 - implicit, the phone model
OXX: Multi CSC for several european countries. Included country codes: ATO AUT COS CPW CYO CYV EIR EUR FOP ITV MOO PAN PHE SUW TPH XEF XEH XEO XEU XEZ XSK
OLB: Multi CSC for SE Asia. Country codes: GLB MM1 SIN SMA STH THL XEV XME XSE XSP XTC XTE
LA2 - build id, same as above
Modem
letter code meaning same as PDA, sometimes the modem is different (older) version as PDA, not all packs have new modem.
So back to your question, If you need french lang support, then you have to choose firmwares in its name "XX" in the PDA version
But replacing CSC will not give you additional lang support.

You don't need any zip or tar file. Install Root Explorer and then copy system folder to SD card. Then install Terminal emulator and write -
su
dd if=/dev/block/bml7/boot.img of=/sdcard/boot.img
You will get a copy of boot.img in your sdcard
Now connect phone to PC and on desktop make a folder named WORKING_STOCK and copy both, the boot.img and SYSTEM folder from SD card to the folder. This is your Stock ROM
Best Custom Rom
I wanna know which currently available ROM consumes least RAM nd has a decent battery consumption time(& least buggy)? Currently I am using Creed's 2.1.. it's gr8.. bt I donno if it's the best one around regarding my concerns!
How can I add support arabic font in stock GB
thx
Reply
It's kind of hard to add it into one that does not support it; You'll first have to root your phone then deodex your stock rom and finally apply the steps from this : blog.devasque(dot)com/how-to-apply-patch (recombine the link) ; But between all the steps something might go nonfunctional. For the W I think you'll be fine with flashing a rom from a different country...Go to : samsung-updates(dot)com/device/?id=GT-I8150 and chose a firmware from a region you think may have arabic(MAT seems to the newest option for that) and flash it with odin!
Note : if you're going to flash something make sure it's the same as your phone's model (eg : i8150 is not i8150L)
Emartis Frimware
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/161270645/...4_XSG.zip.html
it haves Arabic support , flash it via odin multidownloader
How to flash !!?

I own a ZTE N909D. Because there is not much data available in the English forums I want to gather everything I found out in this one thread.
Basic specs
Screen size: 4.5"
Screen resolution: 854 x 480 pixel
Processor: Qualcomm MSM8625Q (Arm v7)
Original Android version: 4.1.2
N909: single SIM / N909D: dual SIM
Root
In the past I used vRoot, which nowadays is called iRoot - I did not find any correlation to the i-products so far There is also an apk-file available, thus, you do not need a PC for rooting. What I did not like is the Chinese superuser-app. That one can be replaced with whatever you like (don't forget to uninstall the Chinese afterwards).
Searching through the (Chinese) forums I came across a few recoveries, which are working on my D-version, although they were created for the single SIM variant:
Recoveries
CWM v6.5.0.1:
Language: Chinese
Original compilation by ???: I am sorry, I lost the original link. I only have the IMG-file (download link below).
TWRP v2.5.0.0:
Language: Chinese / English
Original compilation by Yang: http://www.gaojiquan.com/thread-9330-1-1.html. A German guy has it available for direct download: TWRP 2.5.0.0 for ZTE N909
I translated it back to English (download link below)
TWRP v2.8.4.0:
Language: Chinese / English
Original compilation by 99646P: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/3559914472. It is a dual language version, where you can change to English within the recovery. My problem was that it started straight in Chinese, which made it difficult for me to find the setting for the language switch. Direct link to the download site: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1hqGfoVy
I modified it to English / English for English start-up (download link below)
TWRP v3.0.0.0:
Language: Multilingual
Original compilation by 99646P: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4349805138. It is a multi language version, where you can change to English or some other languages within the recovery. My problem was that it started straight in Chinese, which made it difficult for me to find the setting for the language switch - no issue after that was done. Direct link to the download site: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1hrhkLOK
Kernels
Original kernel from ZTE: http://support.zte.com.cn/support/news/NewsDetail.aspx?newsId=1005182
Original ZTE kernel patched up to version 3.4.113: https://github.com/xdatravelbug/android_kernel_zte_n909d
For the dual SIM variant I did not find any updated ROM newer than Android 4.1.2 until now. The single SIM version has several custom ROMs available.
ROMs
to be added
Thanks to
Yang from GaoJiQuan
99646P from Baidu

Not exactly sure what is failing during the update. But you can try the following:
* Install a custom recovery
* Download either the original update package from ZTE N909 Taiwan ROM or a custom ROM version
* Install that ROM
As you can boot into stock recovery, you can also try to clean/erase all partitions in there or you do it via TWRP. The usual way going to fastboot (with the phone switched off) is by pressing and holding power + volume up (or down). In fastboot mode connect your phone to USB and open a command prompt. If you only want to test the custom recovery use "fastboot boot <image.img>". If you want to directly flash the custom recovery use "fastboot flash recovery <image.img>"
Let me know if this information does not help.

I am working on it trying with Marshmallow for now, because to my knowledge that it the latest supported version for our old Qualcomm device. Pls be patient as I am not that experienced with compiling and just try it for fun
Quick update after a long time: I patched the original kernel v3.4.0 to v3.4.113. Trials are still ongoing if something screwed up doing that. Especial the bluetooth files caused some issues during the patches because ZTE uses different variable-names than Linux.
