I searched to see if there was a fix for this but wasn't able to find one so I hope someone can help out.
When I scroll up and down on web pages I occasionally get the dark bars on the sides that would indicate that you're at the end of the page even though I'm not scrolling left or right. I've tried different angles to swipe the page to see if I can reproduce it but it seems to be random.
Does anyone else notice this? Is there a way to turn that feature off since it doesn't seem to be working properly.
Thanks
You will start to notice it less and less.

that is the special effect build into the ROM, if you install other ROMs that has it disable you wont see it
in CM7 it's optional to turn on/off

My Acer A100 (love it to pieces) but my screen is a little too sensitive. On my A500, under Settings/Screen there is a option to change but I haven't found anything on my A100.
Any suggestion?
What do you mean it is too sensitive? I didn't know that was possible.
I find it too sensitive too. Always double typing letters with thumb keyboard and unintentionally clicking when trying to scroll. I didn't realize there was an option to adjust on my A500, but i haven't found a need for it on that tab. I've looked for apps that might help, but no luck.
I agree that the unintentional entry into threads while scrolling seems to be a reault of over sensitivity. Starts to become rather annoying after a while.

Glad to see I am not the only one. I suppose that does not offer a solution on how to make it tolerable.

One thousannd dtimes this. I could type on my trannsformmer with thumb keyboard like a champ. With tthis thing, I have to type soo painstakingly to avoid ddouble keypresses.
The above was not exaggerated for dramatic effect.
You can put a screen protector on it. That will reduce the sensitivity.
THAT. Is a good idea.
I have put a screen protector; also as suggested by Acer tech support, removed the sticker from the side. Still too sensitive for my liking.
I also find too sensitive and have a screen protector installed. I also find it hard to click on links. If there are two links close by I always click on the one that I did not intend to. Seems its a little off. Anyone have this problem?

I have had my a100 for 2 months now. I really like it but what I find irritating is the inconsistent screen response. Most of the time it is too sensitive that it toes a letter multiple times or the back button will go back more than one screen. Other times I have to hit a link or a button a couple of times before it responds. Sometimes I hit a link and a link adjacent to it will be launched. I also have problems with scrolling a it will launch a link instead of scrolling. I already have a screen protector but it did not improve things.
I was just about to start a new thread for this, but it seems like a common problem with the A100.
Scrolling through my dropbox is nearly IMPOSSIBLE, every time I try to scroll, it clicks a link.
Also, trying to long press a item can be difficult, because it will treat it like a click instead of a long press.
I was having the same problem too!
I found out that after disabling SwiftKey X tablet keyboard returned the Acer to a great state of sensitivity level.
This might be the same thing, but with another keyboard or something.
I was constantly pressing the wrong icons and doing unintentional actions while scrolling!!!
I hope this could help.
how did you disable it the swift keyboard?

jahciple,
You either uninstall it from My App in Market App. Or uncheck the keyboard from input methods.
I hope that works for you!
Please post your feedback and share it with us!
nm i thought you were referring to the stock keyboard.

I think the problem when scrolling and it accidentally selecting is because the touch screen loses connection with your finger and thinks you lifted it off and then touched it again. If you download multitouch vis and test touch sensitivity by running your finger from side to side that the colored dots will flicker or sometimes disappear as if you lifted yout finger off. So I think its not because its too sensitive but less sensitive. This happens more if you just lay the tablet down on a surface so only your finger is touching it. If you touch the bezel with your other hand it as you touch test with the other then it will respond better. This could possibly be grounding issue.

Definitely having this problem on mine. This is really the only issue I have with the device, and it's quite frustrating!
Same here. Sometimes when I'm scrolling on the home screen it either scrolls backwards or scroll two pages over (skipping one page). Anyone else have the issue? As for the other issues (clicking links while scrolling) I experience those too. I really love the device too. I was gonna get the Nook Tablet but I gott this for cheaper and it's just as good if not better.

i think we need to bring this up to acers attention. Im sure its just a matter of software update. When the original evo 4g came out it had touch screen issue where it wouldnt respond correctly unless your touching the device with your other hand. It was fixed via software update. Same thing happens with this device. Again download multitouch vis and you can test touch sesitivity while laying it on a surface while running one finger all across the screen you will see it flicker as if its not recognizing complete touch. But once you hold the device up with the other hand while touching the screen with the other then it doesnt flicker.
This may be a known issue, but I've found nothing through searching the forum or Google.
Running GedeROM, and everything works perfectly. Netflix plays well, but won't go full screen. When it first starts, the soft buttons are visible, as always. A few seconds in, the buttons hide, but netflix does not resize to fill the screen, so I have a half inch border around whatever is playing.
This is not a big deal but, with a seven inch screen, I'd like to be able to use as much of the screen as possible.
Is anyone else having this problem, and is there a known fix or different ROM recommendation?
Thanks in advance!
If your having the problem of netflix only being in portrait mode try toggling the screen rotation back and forth this should allow it to rotate to landscape mode sometimes it gets a little sticky also make sure you have 180 degree rotation enabled.
Thanks, but that's not the problem. Switching from protrait to landscape IS sticky, but does work
Netflix firsts starts filling MOST of the screen, except for the bottom half inch with the Back, Home and Multitask switcher buttons visible. After 3 seconds, these buttons shrink off the screen but the picture doesn't expand to fill the space vacated by the disappearance of the soft buttons.
Works fine on the phone and other devices...
Oh, I should mention that my other devices are running variants of Gingerbread, and in one case Froyo. This may be a function of ICS.
Being that gedeRom has true fullscreen maybe there is a feature that you don't have enabled auto hide or something of that nature maybe someone would know better than I cause I don't run gede have but not presently
Have you tried holding the power button a few seconds and then choosing to hide the status bar?
Do you have auto hide enabled under system in the settings menu?

Thanks, Desanko. Turns out I'm an idiot. Problem solved!
Does anyone know how to fix the problem whereby the screen's sensitivity gets worse the longer the screen stays on? Some obvious problems of this are missed keys on the keyboard while typing. Others have looked into this and have been able to properly assert that sensitivity worsens as the screen stays on longer, for some reason.

Something I discovered.
If you change the long press for home to be recents, the problem still persists.
If you access the recents screen but press back, the bug won't show in whichever app is already open until you go back home.
I had an issue pop up about 5 days ago that I haven't been able to find any help about so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. When touching the top of my screen from about mid-screen all the way to the left edge half the time it won't recognize my input now. The status bar still expands so the issue is starting right below that. Alot of times when I am trying to use a back button on the top left corner or type an address into the web browser etc the screen will not register my touch at all. Maybe 1 out of 30 taps it will work but this is baffling me. I have tried fresh rom installs and switching keyboards/apps but that doesn't do anything. Could it be screen calibration or the screen going bad?
the easiest way I can explain this issue and consistently replicate it is if I take an app on the home screen and long press and try to drag it to the "remove" trashcan, about the time I get to the trash can the app will jump above the trashcan.

My watch was working perfectly before the 5.1.1 update, but ever since the update, it is slow to wake, unable to swipe away cards from the watch face without opening them, the touch sensitivity is TERRIBLE....have to swipe over and over to get it to register, and for notifications I am unable to select "ALL"...can only select "priority" and "none".
Is anyone else having these problems?
5.1.1 problems are being discussed here if you're not aware:

No problem in starting a new thread, though.

I noticed that the touch screen seems derpy to me too. Something is definitely weird with the toggle shade thingy. I'm having the same problem with selecting "all". You can get it, but you have to find the exact spot below and to the left and tap frantically like a dozen times. I reccomend using the test app in developer settings and open the touch test. It will display a small grid and it will trace all your touches. Don't worry if it says fail. Just notice whether or not its tracking your finger. To get it to pass you have to turn the lines green by swiping in a certain direction. Mine tracks perfectly so, for me at least, the hardware is fine. Definitely a software issue.

Yesterday I installed the Android M preview on my phone, and so I had to do a reset on my watch. Now all of the touchscreen wonkiness has gone away, and it's working fine!
Before I was unable to get the app list to appear by swiping from the right, but only by tapping once. Also, I couldn't swipe in the center of the screen in the mode selector shade, but only above or below the row of icons. Now that's all working as well.
