First, if I see another "use the search" reply I'm gonna flip out...unless it's sarcasm because of me typing that. I have searched...and search, and searched, and searched. Not just on xda either.
All I want to know, is if there is an app, free, not free - WHATEVER - that can be set to delete/reject texts and call from a phone number you enter into the program. I'm sure someone would suggest it, but changing my phone number isn't an option...so after about 150 texts from the most obnoxious, stuck up, self centered.....yeah.....in the world, I need a way to keep their texts (and calls, but especially texts) from coming through.
And please don't say it isn't possible, because it is. My old Samsung had exactly that feature and it wasn't HALF the phone the Rhodium is.
So please, if anyone knows of one, please tell me and accept my apologies if my post seems rather blunt... It's been a stressful day and I don't sugar coat what I say when I'm frustrated.

use the search button!!!! jk, look for pocket bouncer.it lets you put in numbers to block im pretty sure.
Lol, thanks for the suggestion. I'll try it out after I get back from my run.
-edit- looks like Pocket Call Bouncer is only for calls. Is there one for texts? Even if it lets it through and deletes immediately it I'd be happy.

just call your service provider and have them do it.prolly the easiest way.
Just called them, didn't realize they could do that (Sprint couldn't when I worked for them). They want to charge me $5 a month to do it... I'm already paying too much for AT&T's lousy service that works less than half the time. Guess I'll just keep searching and pay their monthly fee as a last resort.
Thanks bud.

i just told them i wasnt gonna pay that and if they wanted to lose 3 customers over 5 bucks a month be my guest. they cracked. i pay them nothing{not to mention got a new phone for free!!}
I'll try that when I call them tomorrow... Been a frustrating day.
i used kaspersky mobile security about a month ago, they have a 30 day free trial. im not sure if it will block phone calls, but it has a black and white list for text messages. it got kind of annoying to accept the first text from each different person, but maybe there was a way to add your phone book, or only worry about the black list page. had lots of extra features too you might find interesting. let me know what you think and post back for other people who have the same question!!
Use the following cab, its blocks both calls n text
Thanks for those two replies. Got some testing to do now. Thanks again!
Omg guyz are you guys getting this 1.3453379 millisecond lag when you push the home button? It's sooo annoying omg.
This phone sucks! I'm taking it back. Get this...I asked it to make coffee for me this morning, and it just laid there doing nothing!! What a POS!
Seriously people, this is what you guys complaining about stupid things sound like. I have a feeling the people complaining are either 13 years old, or have absolutely no life.
This phone is awesome in every way possible. The screen is HUGE, bright and bold. The colors are vibrant. The GPS locks in almost immediately. The speed is fast. It does have a slight lag when you push the home button but it's literally a millisecond long. Who the hell cares?
If you're on the fence about the phone, go and get it...NOW!

I was thinking about this myself yesterday. There's a line of tolerance that you have to set for yourself with these things. Sometimes I think that it's not that the people don't like the phone, it's that they are having the "grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" mentality. In the end of the day it's just a phone!

we went through this same crap when the sensaion came out. people were like this phone is such a piece of crap cause i ordered waffles and the waitress brought me eggs....i feel your pain most of these people with this phone will go away once development kicks off for this awesome device. I know its hard but try to ignore the stupid posts and they usually go away.
Is it possible that the home screen button lag is because double tapping home opens the touchwiz "voice talk" feature, and the phone hesitates for a fraction of a second incase it's a double tap? Do other non-tmobile SGSII's have this feature and behave the same way?
good point blue biscuit!!
Good call, can't wait to be able to remove that feature with CM7 (at least re-map it). If you guys want a nice sign of speed go to the gallery. I'm blown away at how fast all the images just drop into the gallery when you load it. Maybe that's just me though, coming from the HD2 with android...
With new phones comes new complaints and true they will go away once the phone has been out for a while. I really think people just need a way to vent. I got this phone and it didn't have siri. The phone looked like an iphone but didn't have itunes. Irritating but it's as easy as just ignore their posts.
Seriously people, if you have a problem just ask for help. Starting a new thread to ***** and moan is not going to solve the problem. If you get no help here and want to return it. Do it queitly and move on. Now I'm going back to playing with my phone. It's going to be making me lunch in a little bit and I don't want to miss that. This thing makes great eggs.

Very good question. The home button lag is odd and seems deliberate, no?
Regardless, there is no question this phone is slower than the other SGS II.

Yesterday, at school, my beloved Wildfire S was stolen by a b*****d. I won't say the full story, it's too long and irrelevant. But anyway, I'm extremely angry, I didn't see this bloody mother f**k and I don't have a clue where he is. All I want to do is find him and let me and my mates give him hell. Call me sadistic, but no one steals what matters to me and gets away clean, or alive, with it. Moving on.
The first time I called my WFS from another mobile, it rang, but obviously the ***** didn't pick it up. He was probably trying to crack my pattern password. When I got home, I rang it again, but he turned it off. Since then, I've been phoning and phoning and phoning but it's off now. I can't track it or anything. The school are just picking on me for putting it in my pocket, and they're being absolutely f***ing useless. They won't check the CCTV properly, they're putting all the blame on me, they're not bothering to search people's bags (on the day it was stolen). They're just being a bunch of f**ks. Normally I don't swear so much, but I'm angry.
Anyway, I pushed PlanB to it, so if he puts a SIM with a data connection on it I can get a location and kill him personally. But right now that's just a dream. Because the school aren't helping, I'm filing a police report.
So yeah, this thread is rather pointless, but I gotta deal with the rage somehow, and XDA is a place full of helpful and understanding (in most cases) people.
Is there absolutely anything more I can do to get my phone back. I'm in the UK. Any suggestions? I really need my phone back, my dad will kill me because we're in a financial situation and things just aren't working out. BTW, the ****er also stole my Oyster card, my gum, and my Smints. *****.
That's messed up, sorry to here that mate, hope you get it back, good luck to you.
I'd kill him just for the smints.

That's why I keep androidlost installed on my phone.
It has root privilegies, so I can fully control my phone from their website in case it's stolen.Even if he/she changes SIM card, it will automatically send me a new number.
It's a smart phone, you should have had some kind of security on it.
They cannot search bags, they have no right to. So they're not being a "bunch of f**ks", they're just following the law. Also death threats are a very serious thing indeed, I'd remove that if I were you.
The oyster card is traceable if used. Good luck!

Exactly. WTF? You know it's not a real death threat. It's just anger. If someone cheated on you, killed a friend, stole a possession, wouldn't you be angry? It's human nature. If something that makes generate a strong feeling of annoyance, or despair, then that would be anger. And it's a school, it's they're job to make sure everything is working out. And they are allowed to check bags if something has been stolen. Just like at a shop, or airport. If the victim of a bag search is reluctant to have their bag searched, than it just gives the searcher more of a reason to mark them as a suspect. Whereas if the person is OK with a bag search, it means they have nothing to hide, and they want to be in the clear.
Thanks for the good luck comments guys. Today I filed a police report on it. I'm having some officers come round tomorrow, so they can get enough information for the report. The school claimed that they checked the CCTV, but they had no luck finding it. On the field there are plenty of places to put cameras, so they should of. It's in their budget, and technically part of their duty to protect students. The police said thet'd also go round to the school, to do things themselves, properly.
Again, thanks for the nice comments guys. I hope I get my phone back. Like I said, XDA is full of helpful and understanding people (most of the time). LOL.

This is true. But, I can see where bad wolf is coming from.
Plan b is your best bet man. You could try push cerberus to the phone but you would not be able to set it up remotely. If I was you I would watch plan b like a hawk and hope it comes up with something. Also, start to think constructively about who would have had the oppertunity to take the device. Is it possible that your pocket has just emptied and your phone is sitting out of charge somewhere?
Retrace your classes, think of who you sit beside, who bumped into you, who knows your password or sits close enough to you to sus it out. Worst case scenario is if someone has it has android experience. Then they could flash a new rom and not even cerberus could help. But, you should call your phone carrier. Worst case scenario they should be able to black list the imei and then it cannot to my knowledge be used as a phone.
Next time get cerberus and some zipped pockets man. I know the hurt your feeling, theft is not cool. Espically when its something you've poured part of your life into.

I lost my phone months ago too. I had Prey installed on it, but I never enabled the option to alert a friend when the SIM is switched (biggest mistake I made on this phone :crying.
You can still push apps to your phone with the Android Market website.
I think I read somewhere there is an app that can send you the GPS location if you send a specific SMS to the phone and if Data Mobile and GPS are enabled. I forgot the name of this one... (I'm not sure of this)
In my case, I was already screwed because the SIM card was switched just after I lost it and I still don't know the phone number of the guy who is actually using it. >_<
The police isn't helpful in this case (at least in France...). They won't do a thing without the thief phone number. They don't care of GPS location because it's too difficult to find the right guy.
What I did on my new phone :
Install Prey
Install Avast with the Anti-Theft module
And enable the fu***ng option to alert a friend if the SIM card is switched, in these two apps, to get the phone number of the person who switched it.
(There are several others cool settings if your phone is rooted)
I won't do the same mistake twice. :good:

I would think time is a factor... Since you have Lookout installed, you can find out the general vicinity (depends on accuracy of the GPS) of where the tablet is currently located.
You can go to the police with that information, and maybe they'll do something (not extremely likely).
If you want some delicious justice, order a pizza for that house every night for a month and watch as they answer the door and get increasingly frustrated. Once you've fattened them up on grease and pepperoni, they won't be able to outrun you as you chase them down. Of course, they might have sold your stuff in that time, but you have efficiently reduced their ability to steal again (floorboards creak a lot more when you're 275 than when you're 175).
In all seriousness, though, I think it sucks that this stuff was stolen. If you have home (or renter's) insurance, they'll cover the loss. Otherwise, Lookout GPS information and reporting to the police might be the best bet.

Yes. My revenge will be swift and fierce if I find them. I will have the police arresting them the second I find them. I can track them through the PS3 also. So one way or another I hope to find them. My brother is a State Investigator, so I can contact the right people when this stuff pops up through GPS.

Wow. This app extremely blurs the line between overprotectiveness and outright 24/7 monitoring.
But won't they notice when they stop receiving the logs of everything you do? I mean, even antivirus programs will notify you once the online service detects that you haven't used the app in several days and such. I'm fairly sure this app would have some sort of safeguard like that.

I was thinking the same thing with regards to both parts of this post. However, I hope this brat teenager does flash this "fix" and get in trouble. If he thinks he is so wise to the ways of the world and is so capable of taking care of himself, he can feel free to move out/get kicked out and then:
Pay rent/mortgage
Pay utilities/electric/water/etc.
Pay for groceries
Pay for car/insurance
Pay for TV/internet/etc.
Cook/clean/do laundry for himself
And oh yeah, presumably attend high school every day.
What an ungrateful little punk. He needs to understand that parents have the best interests of their kids at heart, and parents have already gone through teenage life themselves.
