Where are the camera effects? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

So, keep seeing videos with all these cool camera effects where the effect follows peoples faces etc. How do you get these? I cant find any instructions or menus on ICS? Do i need to turn them on or something?
Thanks!

It's in the options when you take a video. The little rascals don't seem to let you use it for photos though. Not sure why

Thanks, i felt sure i tried that but i obviously didnt!
I am also curious why you cant do it on photos but glad i have found it!

[Q] Camera app - old and new

Hi everyone! This is my first post here so I hope I'm doing this right. I'm not sure if this should be here in Q&A or in the App section but here goes.
I really love my Epic 4G. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I was still running Dk28 with midNIGHT rom 3.1. Then I finally switched over to the wonderful CM9 Beta1. I am loving it so far, but there's one thing that bothers me. The camera.
One of the things I used to use on the camera very frequently was the panorama/wide shot function. I really hate the sweep panorama of the ICS camera because with the crafts I make, it's just horrible and it's always distorted because sweeping and me don't get along. The camera that was on my leaked Froyo had the feature where I would click the first picture, and while moving to the side a green box would guide me and then automatically take the next shot when it lined up, then I'd move again and it would take the next shot. It would then put the images together for me.
I really need that feature back. Is there a way that I can install that camera app back onto my phone in addition to the updated ICS camera? I really like the smoothness and speed of the ICS camera for normal picture taking.
I can pull the camera.apk from my original install, but as I said, I don't want to overwrite the ICS one, which I fear because they have the same name and I don't know if renaming it will make the difference. I want both. If someone could guide me in getting both on my phone, that would be great. I'm sure there must be a way, but I don't know how to do it. I've read a lot on these boards so I figure if anyone knows how to help, the great minds here do!
I hope I've explained this ok. If I'm not clear, please let me know. Thanks much!
p.s. I've tried a number of camera apps from Play. I don't like the wide shot ones where it has a ghost image for you to line it up manually either, so please don't suggest that.

Camera app - old vs ics new

Hi guys
I originally asked this in the Q&A section a week ago, but I wasn't sure if it belong here in the apps section instead. Since I didn't get any replies, I'm thinking maybe I should have posted it here to begin with. I hope someone in this section might be able to help.
If I'm not supposed to put this in two areas, I apologize. I'm not too forum saavy; just looking for help for my issue.
Thanks a lot guys

I'd love to see the old TW camera on CM9. The ported TW apps thread a couple posts down mentions this, but i haven't seen anyone post a successfully working version yet.
Hopefully someone who knows what they're doing can figure it out for us. *crosses fingers*
Wishlist? Anyone?
Lol....I was running the peoples rom last week and was wondering the opposite. If there was a way to put the ics camera on that tw rom. That's an awesome rom and has the tw camera (obviously), but maybe just flash that and try it for a while?
On a side note.....Not sure if its just me, or does does the ics camera take much better (normal) pictures, even when zooming in quite a bit? I've been wondering if something was done in ics to better utilize the camera hardware.

I find the ICS camera to be really nice for just normal pics. Definitely faster and does seem to be on the clearer side. But I'm really needing that old auto panorama/wide shot feature. (non sweeping motion or ghost line up).

[Q] Nexus live effect on SGS2?

Hi guys, I was looking for a camera that has the features of the Nexus, I mean the live effects; like big eyes, big mouth, however the funny stuff and I couldn't find any so I installed the stock ICS one to see if it works and every time I choose the live effects option, it force closes. I was wondering does anyone here know how to get this to work.

there may be some libs you need to make it work so , but you would need to see what libs that the apk is relying on ...... if any ...

Where is tap-to-focus on ICS camera?

I honestly hate the ICS camera, and it looks like JB is going to have the same stuff with some tweaks to organization of all your photos.
My top two gripes, in this order, are:
* Where did tap-to-focus go? Taking a decent photo is a nightmare now! Is this just something that I'm missing?
* Where did 8MP widescreen photos go? Square photos suck, but so do lower resolution photos.
If you don't like it, don't flash ICS. No need to start a thread of "I hate this and I hate that".. Who knows. maybe you'll be the guy to add that stuff to the camera because you don't like it.

Perhaps my tone wasn't well received. I'm not creating this thread so that I can complain - I love ICS. I just don't understand why those two features are missing now, and I'm hoping somebody here can tell me I'm being an idiot because the option is "right there in the menu" or something. Or maybe recommend an app that gives me this stuff back... I can't find any posts recently related to this topic, and everywhere I look for other devices people keep saying "CM9 has it" and stuff. Well, my CM9 doesn't have it... I think...

Keep in mind ICS is a port. Its not made by manufacturers for the evo so it will be missing things.
Might as well look for a new camera app if you're that desperate. I don't have a problem with the camera.

Understood. Thanx!
(Any recommendations?)

Personally, I'm not a 3rd party app user. Look around. Try some out. Best of luck to ya.

Your going to laugh when you try this. Hold down the shutter button and don't let go. It will focus. Let go to take the picture. Easy is as easy does...

360 Photosphere?

Is anybody else excited for this feature? I'm sure we'll get the 4.2 update within the next few months.
I know it's more of a novelty feature, just like panorama mode, but it would be fun to use imo.
Once this feature is widely available, I think Google should allow people to add their Photoshere photos to google maps.
you can add them to google maps. which is close enough or exactly what you meant.

Next few months...probably more like 9 months going with their current track record...the gs3 still hasnt received 4.1, and that is a much larger customer base...

Flash in zip, this is a working file it installs og android camera and gallery to give you photosphere, your old cam and gallery will still be there but will not do photosphere to find the feature open your new cam app change the type by tapping cam icon and picking photosphere ONLY the gallery installed can view the pics properly enjoy
we will never get 4.2 ...
Very cool, thank you. Once we get a factory Odin image, I'll take the plunge and root and flash.
Anyone else getting crappy spheres generated? They just don't look as good as the one on the demo video.
Edit: I guess it's hit or miss; I just did another one and it looks awesome. Some of the edges are still a bit bad but overall it was very nice, considering it mashed up like 12 pics
