In greece works only when connected to the internet (we dont have gps free support...so you have to pay for a data plan in order to connect at the internet and use gmaps). So we mostly use cracked navigators like IGO,Sygic,Co-Pilot,Navigon etc...

Off line Sat Nav App

Has anybody got a Sat Nav App with offline maps that def works. Have seen Co Pilot ICS ready but have seen posts where it is crashing for some.
Some others have offline maps but need to connect to get postcode searches ect (FreeNav) which I do not want.
Anybody out there using a workable Sat Nav for the SGN
Copilot works fine, sometimes it closes itself straight after opening but opening it again is fine, never had it crash while using it.

Hi, I'm using Navigon 4.01! This is working offline!
So far working properly on GNEX. Only problem is, when you force 2D Hardware acclaration, then it is not working anymore.
Copilot updated today works perfectly

Try the latest version of Sygic . It is quite nice and there is a 7 day trial version available on market :https://market.android.com/details?id=com.sygic.aura&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zeWdpYy5hdXJhIl0.
Cheers~

Navigation with offline Google Maps?

Is there anyway to use Navigation/GPS with the offline google maps?
Since google has released maps to be downloaded for offline use, its been really useful. But I find that I couldn't use the navigation function, I could only look at the map. Is there anyway I can use just GPS to do the navigation with the downloaded maps and not need to use 3G or wifi?

No you can't use Navigation/Directions/routing functions of any sort while offline. Google Maps relies on it's servers to provide it with routing data. Use HTC Locations or Navfree if you want offline navigation. Can't comment on whether this will be possible sometime in the future with Google Maps. Maybe they'll do something like they did with the offline voice recognition engine in Jelly Bean.

Google Calendar events with locations produce cards also ("You need to set off in 10 minutes to arrive by 7pm" etc. etc.)
Also if you set your places in location settings then you will automatically get traffic for work and home destinations etc.
It often gives me suggestions for traffic at places I have stopped at and also after I have searched for places in maps and in chrome.

GPS

what's the point of having GPS in the tablet, Wifi Version, when it only works with wifi? Yea, I can download offline maps but still.

I think it is still very useful features. Even the gps sensor is much better in my note 2014 (wifi) compare to my note 3.
Just use good apps like sygic, or download the offline map in google maps.
