Hello,
On S8500XXKK5/7, a new security added to prevent applications adding, in debug level = 1, i had this error message:
Code:
App Debug Level : 1
ASSERTI ON_ASSERT: 0 Failed.
(file AppkgSvcPreloaded.cpp, line 634)
Install PreloadedApp: Integrity is failed.
Please check the preloaded app.
[Osp/applications/....]
Any solution is welcome
Bests regards
I checked both sevenIM's signature.xmf from KG5 and KK7 they are different.
I have not the courage today to test, but I'm pretty sure if I use sevenIM from KG5 I will have bootloops on KK7 like with facebook, twitter or polaris...
Edit: On KK7, certificate are the same for apps but signature are =/=
And signature from KG5 is =/= to signature from KK7 for same application.
I found a new method....install some old frimware which contains these apps...then backup the apps u need using samsung kies and then upgrade to KK7...then restore using samsung apps and the app will be installed....I had tested this by using jump app as experiment when I flashed to KK7 from KG5....so I belive it will work....but I havnt tested this method using polaris or others...So if some1 is migrating could please test this method and report....Thanx in advance

I've tested it. When facebook and twitter apps are trying to be restored in kies from the backup file an error appears and the phone reboots. So we are still looking for a solution...

Okay people, its done!
This is the procedure and firmware package for a single-step flash to DXJPA using Odin:
http://touristinparadise.blogspot.com/2010/11/samsung-galaxy-s-how-to-install-froyo.html
If you flash using that procedure, you should get a 'stock' DXJPA phone will all DX-series CSCs. Unfortunately, it *will* do a factory reset / wipe data.
DXJPA is the official Froyo for the Southeast Asian region: Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines.
DXJPA is tricky because it really needs PIT 513 (it's the only ROM, as far as I know), probably because the /system partition size needs to be very big for the carrier customizations.
I've basically combined the missing parts from DXJPA with the files from the original DXJG4 and used the correct PIT.
Bro, thanks. now downloading from multiupload site. going to try flashing directly through odin1.7 with pit513 directly and will report back to see if successful or not.
btw, time to change your signature?
p/s: is it okay to use your k7 kernel on this rom?
edit: looking at the downloaded file from Richtofen, the modem.bin is missing. hmm....
edit2: after reviewing, i am using your package to flash.
No bro, you should use my download link. All the other packages have the wrong dbdata and the CSC wont work properly - unless u do the 2 step from DXJG4 to DXJPA.
Hey bro. Did you find any significant changes between this ROM compare to ADJP5 like does it work better with your kernel? Just curious.
Thanks!

ADJP5 is from another region. The DX series is for Southeast Asia. And yup, it works with my kernel too - all Froyo ROMs work.

yeah, i notice a huge difference in the dbdata.rfs as well as the cache.rfs. The cache.rfs should be containing all the bloatware apps i presume.
now flashing, almost done now.
give me sometime, and i will do the batterymod if anyone is interested.
Someone needs to work on customizing this ROM so we can save more space.
hmm, seems to get stuck at bootup screen, but no black screen yet. will wait a bit longer, and get into recovery to wipe cache, do a factory reset.
edit: just booted up. haha...

hardcore, posted this in the other thread. posting here again:-
is it possible to convert this to cwm package (like how doc rambone does with his jpa/jpo roms) so that it can be flashed without wiping out all the data and settings?

Is that error from blogspot, or from Google Docs?
BTW, please let me know if you can't download the file. Google Docs should be super fast but I'm not sure if they'll block it after a while...

Hi guys!
I'm trying to add some pre-defined apps to the sh.app. But I can't. I tried doing it as in Bada 1.2, copying the apps in Osp/Applications, but after flashing, the screen stops at the bada splash and reboots.
Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance

Wat i wanted to know is if we just add any1 app(1 app only) will it work bcoz polaris comes along with the frimware and so its supposed to work...but other apps(in my case nfs) have all those security codes which were generated by another phone and so its not supposed to work( u know samsung did this to prevent spoofing)
So i thought if we extract Aspalt 5 which came preloaded with bada 1 will work but was lazy to try it out

I doubt it. I´ve tried with non spoofed apps and it does not work. It is not the thing of adding just one app, but there is some linking file i can't find to make the app appear and work.
I found a supposed "safe" list of stock apps to delete and foolishly started firing them in the bin only to find that the messaging icon had not only vanished from the home tray but the option to replace it with a new shortcut had too.
I guess one of the apps deleted was responsible for that. Can any of you boffins figure out which i need and where to get it? The dangers of rooting sigh.......
I use handicant messages so perhaps a 3rd party applications could suffice. Next time either make a nandroid backup or use titanium pro.

You would always make a backup before you uninstall lol.
But I'll look through my apps stuff and find something about it.

Thanks for replying but im sorry. Maybe im a noob. I did make a nandroid but a couple of months ago and i wanted my system the way it was the other day. Dont know how to use ftfs or how they would particularly apply here. If i was to extract a copy of the current system id still be missing the messaging app wouldnt i? Is there not simpler apk method maybe or something that doesnt involve code/commands.
Just go on the market and download go sms or handcent

No.
It's just quicker to have a script nuke them all, but, with TiBu, you could make a backup BEFORE nuking.

Tell me first how to extract it from my phone?
If you are rooted you have 2 ways.-
- You can export it using some app like (App Extractor, SDMaid, Titanium Backup...)
- Or use the file browser to check '/data/app', or '/system/app', or '/system/priv-app' dirctories. It should installed as a system app, so should be on '/system /...'.
Note: if it has extra files/folders like libs, or similar, better zip the entire app folder, and it to me.
