not sure whether any of you had this problem.
if I wipe the phone system tutorial under about phone disappears but comes back after a few reboots.
When I click it, it crashes straight away.
very very strange problem. I checked my friend's GN and he doesnt even have that item under about phone at all.
what the hell is going on? I flashed 11F and did a wipe as well but it always came back.
I get that problem too. When I click on the system tutorial, I get "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped".
I have the gsm version, running stock 4.01.

I went through from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2, no problems, phone ran fine after update. Then went to 4.3, same thing. The phone was running fine so I booted back into recovery and removed Knox as well as manually rerooted by flashing SuperSU. Rebooted after that and still no problems, phone was running great. I then make a backup so I have a restore point of stock 4.3, rooted, and without Knox. I then go on and try to flash Dandroid and get a status 7 error and the phone was acting up after I rebooted.
At this point I go back to my backup and simply restore it and reboot again. The phone boots up, so that's a good thing. The problem is the GApps will not run and it continuously has a pop-up notification. The phone is rendered unusable like this. I got lucky once and was able to try and launch ROM Manager to see if fixing permissions would work, but it also closed. I tried flashing a 4.3 GApps package with no success and even tried reflashing the 4.3 update but got a status 6 error.
I'm at a loss here, does anyone have any ideas on this?
Not sure if this will help much, but even when plugged in via USB my computer will not recognize the device. The S3 states that it is connected and it does show up in Device Manager, it just won't show up as any kind of readable memory.
Trying to ADB sideload a rooted stock 4.3 ROM now. Any advice at all would be a help.
EDIT: I took a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJ-eaQ_9mVI) of the problem so everyone can see what I'm talking about and I also found a fix.
I'm not sure what was causing it, but after a solid day of researching it online the closest thing I got was resetting app preferences and also trying to clear any data of Google apps. This seemed to sometimes slow the popups down for me or create a longer gap before they just came right back in full force. So, going off that small success I had managed to navigate my way over to Settings -> Accounts -> Backup and reset -> Factory data reset and ran that. The first boot after that took a very long time, I'd say a solid twenty minutes but it did work. No more error and everything has been going smooth for me since. A restore of apps with Titanium Backup also did not bring the problem back up again, so the device seems to be good as new again.
I apologize if any of these is out of line, I just thought I would follow up with a solution in case anyone else has this problem and can't seem to fix it. Maybe this will help them.
Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum. My HTC Desire 300 is not rooted in anyway. Lately I've been experiencing problems with the System UI. It suddenly stopped working one day, and from then on, the notification bar never worked properly again. It comes back at random times, but even trying to pull it down will make it crash. Swiping a notification away and even just doing nothing to it will cause it to crash. I don't know why this is happening. I've tried factory reset, hard reset, battery pull, booting in safe mode, scanning for viruses, literally everything I can. Nothing works. Booting the phone up will show the error message and sometimes the error message will come up every few seconds then eventually stop and I never see it again until I restart the phone or shut it down and turn back on. Can somebody please help? I'm running 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
I know that this in not best solution but you could try factory reset. You'll lose all of your data but you mobile should work normally.
Right now I have problem with Bluetooth and planing on doing same thing (or maybe try different ROM ).

I wish I could fix it by factory reset, but I've literally done it like 5 times. Nothing works. I still get the same error. I've also tried clearing the cache for system UI app in the "all apps" list, but there is no data on the System UI app, it says 0.00B. I can't clear any cache or data. And I also notice that sometimes System UI app will run in the "running apps" list, but it is "restarting", and it seems like it fails to restart because it is always restarting.
How can I fix my ROM? My phone is not rooted and I have never modded it and installed any ROMs on it. Right now I'm just using 2 notification apps on the Play Store so that I get some sort of notification. But it's just not the same as the notification bar itself. I'm tempted to buy another phone, but when I was looking this problem up on the Internet, it seems like many phones, even the new and good ones get the same problem. So I'm really hesitating.
Did you try to do factory reset from Android or boot loader? Maybe other reset will do the trick.

Uhm what do you mean by bootloader? I think I've attempted to unlock my bootloader but I never actually did it. So I don't think I unlocked my bootloader. But I don't know how to factory reset by bootloader or by other ways that you are talking about. The way I do the factory reset is through my phone's system settings > Backup & reset > Reset phone. I've also tried hard reset.
I mean from default recovery not bootloader. Sorry, my bad.
Hi everyone. I have a sporadic problem with my vanilla note 3 from t mobile. Its a totally random occurrence but sometimes it will freeze(loose all input functionality) sometimes it will just stay black screen(no input taking) and usually (not always) it will reboot itself after this happens(sometimes a battery pull is required). Is this a memory leak issue? Thanks for any help. Sometimes it will run fine for a week or 2 and then all the sudden it will start acting up.
Was it rooted? I had a similar issue before mine was rooted, some of the system load programs that I didn't use would start up and then grab all resources. ..
Mine was doing the same thing while rooted with towelroot. Even after I unrooted it was doing the same thing. I didn't try a factory reset, but T-Mobile is sending me a replacement phone.

If it was my phone I would do cache wipe first, if still no go then full factory reset and I would then reinstall most important programs first.
Restarting phone every few days is not a bad idea on it's own and BTW when was the last time you cleaned garbage from it?
Hi All,
Having some issues with my Galaxy Note 10.1 which I've had for quite a while now. It's rooted but with Android 5.0 stock rom and a custom kernel.
Just now (like 20mins ago) I tried to enable Adblock plus app, the app said it can't automatically change the settings - even though SuperSU was installed and had no issues with it previously. So like all things thought I'd give it a reboot that ought to clear it out. That didn't work, so tried clearing cache (Dalvik/ART/Cache), Still no joy.
I'm a s/w engineer, but not and android/bootloader expert, so I've tried to grab the dmesg and boot logs which I've attached, I've got some stuff on the internal SD (app data) which I'd like to keep, hence I'm not going for the full wipe.
Please take a look at the logs and see if you can determine how to fix this issue, my initial thoughts were there are some issues with the flash storage (bad sectors/partition table?), if I could grab the image and dd the image again I'd be OK - but I don't know much about about android boot loader/kernel etc so can't say.
Ok it has been fixed by wiping data - but I've lost my data and installed apps!
Is there anyway to find out which file/app is causing the boot loop so I can restore data, delete the offending file?
Well, I shall give a bump to this topic, with a little more info. Though probably not really useful.
First I had stock 5.1.1 deodex pre root etc ROM that, after I tried to insert a nano sim card (mine is a 601 3G model) that got stuck, it entered on a bootloop, I had to open it, take the sim card out, and it was still on a boot loop. Tried to install another image, still bootloop, tried to reinstall the original one I had, still bootloop, wiped data, worked fine.
Then almost 2 weeks later, everything worked fine, went to watch a video, the sound was mute, tried to turn it on but everything looked fine, decided to restart because it would probably fix the problem. Got a bootloop. Wiped the data, everything was fine again.
Now, a little more than 2 weeks later, seems like the wifi is not working, thought all my other devices are, guess it's the same problem, decided to restart it, and bootloop again. I'm currently trying to update my TWRP, and gonna try a different ROM, and wait to see if something like that happens, until then, I wonder what could be happening... I remembered an Asus Device that I had that had different firmware versions for 4.4 and 4.1, so if I tried to flash a 4.4 on a 4.1 firmware it wouldn't work, and for downgrade, the same problem happened, and wondered if Samsung has some difference between versions 4 and 5.
ssj4maiko Let me know if you find a more stable rom - I went back to pretty much stock, but with root as I wanted to use all the Samsung apps, but this constant random bootloops are annoying!
So about 2 months ago I get BigRom. It was all good but from times to times, no more than few times per week I was getting force close dialogs popup
Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped

After few seconds the process restart and everything was fine, except that I don't always get sms messages... Till last week. Phone process just started crushing few times per day. So I decided to change the rom to BigOS. Happens the same. I back to the stock and on .87 i got phone app crushed once, because I changed after that to ClearStock custom ROM.
But nothinngs change. Exact pattern in most case looks like that:
Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped
Click to collapse
It restarts after few moments, phone & internet work few minutes and again
Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped

But this time it doesn't repair itself, few moments later my phone is restarting. And I got that issue few times per day, when I turn on my phone phone some times work, somtimes doesn't.
It seems that it's not depends on ROM, but smth deeper. Guys, I need solution, please. I can't use my phone properly.
I was trying to clear data, to clear cache, I deleted manualy from recovery data folders "com.android.providers.telephony" and "com.android.phone". It doesn't help at all
Ok, but wchich one?
It says
To figure out the right version of Google Play services for your Android device, download Play Services info or go to Settings -> Apps -> Google Play services, and look at the last 3 numbers in the parentheses. You'll see something like -XYZ where:

and I got 270, but there is no version like that to download
Edit: Ok there is one, but it is exactly the same build I have already installed. But ok, I will try and give here the result
Edit2: It changed nothing. Few seconds after I restart phone it crushed again. Problem is somewhere deeper, but how can I solve it?
I get back to the stock .60 but there is nothing change. I dont have any crushes now, but also i do not have any conectivity. What's the problem? I Still have warranty, but if I can fix this by myself I would like to do that. But I need any hint...
Downgrade? Could that help? I've never before problem which couldn't be solved by flashing the custom rom, it's pretty wierd to me
