Been using the the kitchen for sometime with great success. But last night on the new ota update from stang I changed the battery icon and the notification pull down and only the battery icon changed after booting back up.
I cleaned cache and davlik, and of course uploaded the correct files. Is there a chance the Kitchen could just mess up from time to time? Will probably try again when I get home.

What were you trying to change in the pulldown? If it was transparency it wont work on the lasest ota's.

Ok so having spent the last few hours studying the odexed vs deodexed conundrum I have come to the conclusion I'm either crazy or dreaming.
Why?
Because my evo, which is odexed is currently running riptide9's clean and clear theme, with only a minor glitch, that being the notification bar refuses to be transparent.
It has worked for over two days now, and successfully flashed the latest update he made with no problems as well. And yes I mess with my phone a lot so it has had multiple reboots from me showing off my new boot screen animation etc...
Can someone tell me why this is working? (Since it isn't supposed to...) And should I be afraid of my phone exploding?
Could the fact that I wiped the cache and dalvik cache have helped? Or would have runing the fix uid (or is it mid) mismatch command in recovery have made this possible?
Any ideas or thoughts? Is my phone in wonderland with alice?

Hi just wondering when I download a battery icon for example of the kitchen do I have to wipe before I flash it? Also if I decide I won't different font for example do I just flash that over again and the battery will stay?
Thanks
No you don't news to wipe. And yes the battery will stay. The fonts are just normal font files that get put in /system/fonts. The battery gets built into the framework and the framework gets replaced. Just to be safe I would backup first because I have had it where the flash has messed up.

Ok thanks for the reply mate. How come every time a flash something the battery goes back to the standard 1 so I have to flash it again?
Thanks
Also is there any way of changing the email envelope you get when you get a email? I can't seem to find anything.
Anyone any idea why when I flash some icons my modified battery goes back to standard?
why don't you ask those questions in the right place => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
uot kitchen thread by mendozina.
you shpould considere what your are flashing and how... each time you flash new icons, if it's system icon then framework is replace. you should use (copy) the mod bat framework from you system to flash new icon and keep the already mod you had done.
but this is a though since you don t give a lot explaination.

Are you using the ROM files provided by UOT each time? If so, each time you make new items in the kitchen you're only over-writing those specific files when you flash it. Therefore if you choose not to change the battery mod in the kitchen when you flash new icons, you're flashing standard battery settings over the previously flashed customer battery settings.
i have similar problem,
today i have cooked my first mod, just new battery icons for status bar, status bar icons and new font. rom gets cooked w/o problems, also flashing goes as smooth as should be. the thing is, when i boot the phone no change is visible.
i didn't upload framework and system apk-s, i used IC 1.1.0. from kitchen, which is the rom i use. i did use edify script (for CM 3.x) and uncheck ThemeChooser.
i must be missing something but can't figure out what it is...any help appreciated. thx!
ok, i figured it out...flashing zip doesn't work for some reason, but adb push solved it... everything works now! for me, at least...hope it helps someone...;-)
the rom's (Stock+) framework removed it, but after applying a UOT update
that used that framework, its back again .
All I used from UOT is the circle battery mod?
1st, to recover, if I just put back what came with the rom,
(the three files I uploaded to UOT) will that put things back
as they were?
Is there a way to get the circle battery mod without restoring
the dumb recticle?
Thanks.

I believe you would have to use uot to get the battery mod, and then manually remove the recticle.
On my nexus, I have like 3 CWM backups of various roms. I go back and forth between them sometimes when I mess around with it. Each time I use ROM manager, i clear all memory options that it gives.
I guess my question is, when going to a new rom after backing up and clearing an older one, are there like, traces left over that slow down the phone or take up memory? Is it bad in any way to go to a new rom every week?
Also, question #2: I have been looking for a rom with transparent softkeys (as in, the wallpaper extends ALL the way to the bottom of the phone, aka the softkeys do not sit atop a black background). Does anyone know of one?
This is my first post on XDA in a long time, so I hope I'm in the right place. Thanks to all!
1. That's why you wipe and do clean installs.
2. I believe I saw a similar thread before, try searching the forum.
Got it... so in regards to 1) if i press clear any memory options that rom manager gives me when installing a new rom, everything is good?
Thanks for the reply by the way.

Ya. And if you believe it's acting up coz of ghost files, restore to stock and start clean.

Ghost files?
No, it has more to do with incompatible databases, etc. under /data partition.
You can cure most ills when flashing roms by clearing dalvik.
So I've looked everywhere... I wasnt able to find any instruction to get a transparent softkey bar.
I hate to ask, but can anyone point me to a rom that comes with this option preloaded or a simple flashable zip?
Sorry
Havent seen a rom with transparent nav bar yet - you can resize it (make it smaller) in a few roms like AOKP.
this thread was about flashing roms...right?
transparent navbar? not available yet, next time search themes and apps section

I probably went through 8 roms in my first day of owning my gnex, just make sure you wipe dalvik cache every time you flash, I still go between three ROMs now and haven't had any problems.
Here's where I got my transparent status and nav bars.

on BB8 using the LTM app with the full!screen app on market for my gnex, worked fine till phone rebooted while navbar was hidden and afte reboot my top status bar came back but not the bottom navbar...
I dont have a back up handy, yes I know noobish, I promise no more late night fiddling...
Can someone help me figure this one out?? Is there something that needs to be replaced in the system?? Can I get away with a "dirty flash"?? Never done that before, what could happen??
Or is there a quick fix I am missing?
I am guessing this may have something to with the framework apk?? Would replacing that fix the issue? How would I "re-do" the framework?

I ran into this issue when I went from stock to a ROM that had a customized NAV BAR then I changed to another ROM without this mod. I would backup my SD Card, do a nandroid of the current setup, factory reset, then reflash the desired ROM. Dirty flashing causes problems like these.
Ya I see, but thats the thing I never dirty flash so I was wondering how to fix it, I can start over. Thanks for your time
you could try dirty flashing over what you have now just to see if it comes back. worst case, clean flash
