[Q] Google Voice Dialer ? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I switched to Tmo SGS2 (Stock rom rooted) from my Vibrant (Bionix V2) a few days ago. With my vibrant, when I long press the button on my Jawbone ICON bluetooth headset, it would start Google Voice Command even the screen is locked and I can call someone without touching the phone. With Tmo SGS2, the Vlingo Voice command would not start if the screen is locked. If I unlock the screen, Vlingo Voice Command would start and I can use voice command to make a call.
Is there a way so I can configure Vlingo to accept voice command even the lock screen is on?
Better yet, anyone knows how to get the Google Voice Dialer back? I tried Market but it is not there.
Thanks.

No voice dialing on Touch Pro 2?

I have a dutch ROM. I cannot find how to record voice dialing commands, moreover, the manual does not mention anyting about it.
What's up??
Voice dialling
There is no voice dialling option on the UK spec version either, I've tried MS Voice Command v1.6 and that doesnt work at all either, anyone got any ideas?
It works. Voice Command gets to the one hardware button assigned that's configurable. Just hold the Call button until u hear a beep.
I disabled Voice Command though due to the ringtone volume bug. Every 2 seconds the ringtone gets low for an announcement that you don't hear. Still waiting for a proper fix without all the work of replacing files.
I was looking for the original voice dialing function. But it really isn't there on the TP2. Voice Command is much better though. But damn that bug.
Another problem is that I use it on my bikehelmet when driving. But on the TP2 you need to hold the call button 3 secs (using Voice Command). That turns my bluetooth communication system off. xD
On my previous phone Xperia X1 I could assign a button without needing to hold it for 3 seconds. That worked for my bikesystem.

you have to buy the voice command software from Microsoft, its about $39.00. None of the foreign phones came with bluetooth voice command software...
Yes MS voice command works like a charm on TP2
Not through Bluetooth it doesnt, thats the main point of voice dialing, I cant fiddle with my phone whilst driving as thats illegal, voice dialing through bluetooth was a breeze with Voice Command v1.6 on the old Kaiser, I need to find out how to get that functionality again.
The Telus version of the Touch Pro2 comes with Voice Command 1.6.21052 in ROM

after reading your post sent a question to HTC...cut a long story short they tested MVC on a TP2 and through the BT headset succesfully activated a command... when i first contacted they sent the following cab and suggested i install ... so this may help
CVC-PPC-WWE-711091-hTCPPC (Aus Voice Commander).CAB
did not buy because of this post but according to HTC the profile does work on TP2 so back on final list after my 1st choice the B7610 is pushed back to Oct launch
Due to speaking to HTC support who said they had voice over BT headset working on TP2 brought one and low and behold it does not work ... not happy
Nice to know.
I googled CVC-PPC-WWE-711091-hTCPPC (Aus Voice Commander).CAB got redirected to the HTC site.
http://www.htc.com/au/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=71&cat=3&dl_id=277
Guess what. Not available for my TP2.

I emailed in detail about this problem. Mentioning that Voice Command only works on the phone itself by holding the call button for 3 secs. When using the bt handsfree set the handsfree set turns off when holding the button for 3 secs on it. While it works perfectly on my old Xperia X1 (wich is made by HTC too). With 3 different bt sets. No holding buttons for 3 sec. But only by shortly pressing the button.
Hopefully they answer with good news.
guys, I have an idea: what if we use AEB button plus to map voice command to one of the vol key-long press or double press for example, and then we see if the BT headset is capable of invoking it using its own volume keys? dunno if it's clear enough...
you might try it, so no long press on power button of the headset or so...
the other problem: even if my strange idea would work, I dunno if then the TP2 / voice command would listen to my commands through the BT headset.. but it might be worth a try
this absence of voice dialing and all this problems are driving me mad
cheers!
Can someone confirm if MS Voice (UK) works on the TP2?
When I installed this on my Diamond, it f***ed up the phone and required a hard reset .... twice! Once I thought it was my fault, but I did it again to make sure, and no it was the phone!
It worked great on my previous phone, but I've just got this one the way I like it, and would not like to have to reset everything
I have the TMoUS TP2 that came with MSVC preinstalled and it works perfectly with my Motorola S9 headset via BT.
Maybe try to get the version in the TMo ROM?

[Bug] Voice Search Fails Unless Mic is Already Active

This isn't a complaint, just a bug report.
System: Sprint TP2 (Rhod400)
Build: [MJG]Rhod.2.2Froyo.082610 w/8-27 sound patch (modules-2.6.27.46-01149-g74aec59.tar and update zImage)
Install Type: Clean Install
Problem: Voice Search does not initialize the mic.
To recreate:
1) Boot into Android.
2) Start Voice Search.
Voice search will fail as no sound will be recorded. However, voice search itself *does work* if you start it with the mic active.
To see voice search working:
1) Boot into Andorid.
2) Make a phone call.
3) End the call.
4) Immediately start voice search.
5) Voice search will record the sound (you will see the mic icon flash white) and run the search as expected.
Note: Voice search closes the mic when finished, so if you attempt to immediately use it a second time, it will fail.
I hadn't seen this noted anywhere and as such wanted to mention it since the sound system is now in a much better state.
I think the same thing happened to me, unless I dont know how to use the program but i'm sure i do.
Its called talking tom cat. it records your voice then replays it in high pitch kitty talk. I pressed record, spoke into the mouth piece both normally and very loud. It didn't playback anything.

This works for me fine, as long as the first thing I do when I turn my phone on, and make a phone call. After that it just work.

[Q] Losing my mind - how to get Bluetooth voice dial to trigger voice actions?

So I got a G2 and am now stuck trying to figure out how to trigger the Voice Actions application with a press of my headset button instead of the crappy Voice Dialer application. Phone is brand new and non-rooted. Should I be rooting this thing and removing the Voice Dialer or what? Pain in the butt to have to long-press the Search to trigger the better of the two programs.
Seconded; I'd love to be able to do this, along with maybe setting which media app to launch with an A2DP 'play' signal if nothing is running. At the moment it's a bit of a toss-up (and occasionally two start up at the same time, with different tracks playing).

[Q] Bluetooth Voice Talk

So I'm using the Plantronics M20 bluetooth headset (standard universal). When my screen is off and i hold the talk button for two seconds to activate voice talk, nothing happens until i manually turn on my phone's screen, which seems counter intuitive to the purpose of a bluetooth headset. When the screen is on and i trigger voice talk, it brings up the app and commands with no problem. My question is, is there a way to make it so the phone will wake up when activating voice talk, rather than having to manually wake up my phone before being able to give commands? I tried using vlingo and it gives me the same problems. Also im using Mijj's blended ICS if that makes a difference.
derp
nevermind i figured it out... for those of you who are wondering, if you manually lock your screen to go into standby mode, then it will require you manually turning it on before entering voice talk. which makes sense i suppose. so if you let your phone go into standby mode after waiting (15 seconds or whatever you have it set to) then you can wake it up with your bluetooth's voice talk command. hope this helps someone lol

In Call Voice Command Help

So in the dialer settings, for answering/ending calls, I've got "using voice commands" checked so that if I have my hands full I can answer an incoming call by saying "answer".
That said, this feature is of little value if the speaker phone isn't also automatically enabled (at least it's of little value unless you have a bluetooth headset on or something).
Is there a way to get the speaker phone to come on with a voice command or, better yet, automatically when I answer a call using a voice command?
fwiw, I'm on a retail variant running the lollipop update.
Thanks!
