Hi,
I rooted my phone a couple of months ago and installed CM7.1. Things were all going breezy until one morning I found it with 'Safe Mode' in the bottom left corner. None of the hard buttons work!
Tried rebooting the phone, flashing back to a back-up and nothing seems to work. Please help me get my hard buttons working! I love my Desire!
Its a BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT - 0.93.0001

Any help is much appreciated! And yes, I did search for threads and tried holding the menu while booting, it doesnt help! I didnt even know there was a 'Safe Mode' which wouldnt allow anything but stock applications .. help PLEASE?
Go back to stock. If problem persits, call HTC.
Thanks Matdroid, but I cant seem to go back to stock. I have a stock back up but when I try to apply it, it gets stuck at the htc logo on reboot and I have to pull battery and flash CM again for the phone to work
Why don't you just the 2.3.3 RUU?
Tried one of the 2.3.3 RUU's and the 'Safe Mode' still appears in the bottom left ...
Thanks for your suggestions so far but has no one else experienced this?
If you successfully got back on stock and safe mode still appears, you can call HTC to fix that.

Hi everyone
Apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I've had my desire for about 4 months, rooted it using unrEVOked sucessfully and have played around with a few different roms.
i had leedroid on it maybe 3 weeks ago and it kept going in reboot cycles, which sucked so i changed Roms. last week it started to freeze occasioanlly with my current rom (i'm using MIUI 11.26). now it is just frozen solid basically.
It is stuck on the HTC screen at bootup. If i use the volume down key and power to boot, it will go into bootloader, but when i go and click recovery, it just reboots and does the same thing, freezes at HTC. So i'm unable to get into clockwork.
Any ideas? I've been able to follow instructions and am pretty good with swapping roms around etc, but i'm really stuck with this one
Any help would be appreciated. I'm also wondering if it is not software related.
mine just did that today, i tried to open a Gtalk message but it kept force closing, so i rebooted, now it wont go past the white HTC screen. i also removed the battery, same thing happens...not too sure what to do next
BTW im using the CM6
Is there any solution to this? Mine is stuck at the HTC logo too. Can't get into recovery and clear storage didn't work.
Anybody?

2. now in Hboot and Bootloader should be maked whit blue then push powere butten one time and wait around 10 sek. ore to is say Hboot USB Plug
3. now Run The RUU update exe file and do what the program say

So I was running Cyanogen 7.0 for a couple weeks now and have tried a few others. I downloaded it with clockworkmod and everything was fine until I updated it to the newest one and while it was updating my phone died. Now it is just stuck in blue boot screen with the arrow going around and around. I tried Hboot but every one I pick including recovery, clear storage, and factory reset just gets me stuck on Dinc white boot screen. Trackball isn't responsive here so I us power and when I try to boot with up volume or both up and down with power it just vibrates a couple times and doesn't do anything. (I have to pull battery after this to Hboot or boot with stuck C& screen.) Please help! I have been reading so many threads on here and Cyanogens forums and everyone else seems to fix it with recover from hboot or clockwork recover comes up for them. I am very stumped. I have had a rooted captivate, EVO, and tried moto atrix and back to captivate before deciding to try out Dinc (and verizon)
I had that problem a while ago. I recall using the the in revoked program all over again. Hope that helps

the only solution that I would think can work on this case if going back to stock.. since you said you can get in the HBOOT.. you could be able to go back to stock and then reroot you phone again... I was on similar situation once I flash the alternative recover in RM... and I couldnt get to the Recovery and I had to go back to stock by putting the PB31IMG in the HBOOT to get it working..

Similar Problem
I am facing a similar situation with my Incredible. I was running CM7.0.3 when my phone randomly restarted but only got to the white "HTC Incredible" screen before looping over again.. and again..
I have tried loading the stock image (used the files from dougpiston site) as well as others through the HBOOT but I still cannot get past the "HTC Incredible" boot screen.
Is there something that I am missing? Does anyone else have a suggestion? I know it isn't bricked since I can still get to the HBOOT but I just can't seem to get it to boot an image. I did notice it is still "S-Off" if that matters.
If you cannot get into recovery and flashing a recovery from hboot doesn't work, you may need a new phone. This was mentioned in another thread somewhere recently.
Make sure your sd card is formatted to fat32.
Hiya,
I have a HTC wildfire that seems to reboot back to the HBOOT every time I turn it off. I can get the phone to boot and work fine but I have to use fastboot commander and click 'reboot system' to get it to work. What would cause this problem and what is the solution? Also when in HBOOT it is unresponsive.
It is S-On if that matters. I dont really want root or anything just to fix the problem, thankyou.
i have the same problem , and none of my buttons work !!
Nobody?! Would really appreciate some help here. Reflashed a custom rom and still same issiue, reboots to HBOOT every time!
I'm sure you have heard about this before but searching for 18hrs now and nothing is working.
Issue: Phone is f.....kd and stuck on the HTC BOOT SCREEN.
It was running Clockworks newest version and Tried the Unrevoked 3 for the last 5 days without a problem. Then all of the sudden the phone rebooted and I was left with " Hopefully not a dead phone. "

I don't know if the usb Debugging mode is on or off . I'm thinking off cause before the phone rebooted I was looking at settings and might of turned it off . Is there a way I can turn it back on from adb ?? or see if its atleast off ?
I can't get into the recovery as it just skips back to the HTC screen. I have tried erasing etc. with no go..
Help.. Please..
Thanks..

Pull the battery out then put back in then try booting into recovery. Then Go to Desire Q&A and look in the stickies section and read bortak's great guide

Hi,
Suddenly i have weird problems with my Htc desire HD. I get all kind of stop errors from several apps. So i wanted to restore my phone by performing a Hard/factory reset (via volume down + powerbutton), but then i get a HTC logo with white background and nothing is happening.
Then i tried to flash a stock rom by putting it on the sd card and performing the update. This seems to work, i get a OK on all items. Then it asks me to reboot. When I reboot i get again the loading screen with HTC logo with a white background, but still it seems stuck and does nothing. Then when i pull out the battery and try to restart the phone couple of times, it starts the phone but i see all my previous apps and settings. Weird? Even when i perform a wipe via the recovery menu i still can start the old installation?
I also have installed the ruu via the pc and still same problem?
The phone is not rooted and is all orginal.
Anyone who can help me with this? Thanks
well... if your DHD is stock then I don't think there is much you can do about it..
I would root. Being rooted is better anyways...Full Access...there are better roms.
- hit my thanks button if i helped you -
