Mugen Power will have an after-market battery for the Universal, so which one will be your choice ?
Original - Capacity: 1620 mAh, Weight: 44g
The Universal is big and heavy as it is (I love the machine though), so I would welcome every additional drop of energy/autonomy WITHOUT adding to its size .... 1800 for me it would be then ...
how will a much thicker Battery work? With that a new Bettery/Camera Cover will be needed ?!?!
Analysis
to Wiz: thanks for your suggestion.
to m.zielinski: for the extended battery, we will have a tailor-made battery cover for it..

Just a stupide question, can this cover aslo include a Lens protection for the camera?
How big will it be ?
to Daimaou : yes...we will develop a cover that can protect the lens also. no need to worry about it
A better camera-cover would be a benefit in itself - so te maximum acceptable thickness would depend much on the concrete design of the extended Battery because you cant ever have enough mAh aside

Great, you have a client !
How much difference in Battery life does a 1800 mah get from 1620 mah?
If you can fit a 3600 mah battery in there without having it stick out, I would very much prefer that.
I'd go for the largest one, most definitely. I could not find a link to post my vote though, where is it?
I'd go for the largest one provided:
- it is not ridiculously expensive. $300 is ridiculously expensive. $200, I will have to wait for a special occasion like xmas. $99 and my credit card is out already.
- the extended size and weight does not require some hokey solution, and comes with a proper battery/lens cover that looks professional (although it is hard to get more hokey than what it is now anyways)
- the device still sits on its 4 little feet with the extended battery
Dear all,
Thanks for all your suggestion, we will consider the suggestion to develop the battery. So your suggestion is very important to us.
So, Mr MugenPower, when the battery is going to be available and how can we get it? Can you post some information whenever its available, pictures will be helpful and also purchasing information.
Your web site was not helpful btw. :`(

Here is a reseller that sells Mugen Power Batterys, there isn't a Universal one yet tho.

Not that I'm looking for the work D) but I would humbly suggest you consider rethinking the way in which you categorise your product lines. The user experience could be considerably improved were you to introduce some form of assisted, device-based product location or even make clearer the relationship between battery and device.
Additionally, you might consider implementing an online store, or assisting the user in locating a dealer.
Just my $0.2
Dear all,
Thanks for all your information. We are now developing this battery and you know it's not easy to make the O2 battery. We need to test the battery and we need to have a lot of modification before it launch.
Pls keep on watching this we-site, I will post the latest information, such as photo and data in this forum.
If u have any suggestion or comment, pls do PM me .....
Thanks.
I don't know how to vote. I tried clicking, but that did not do anything. If given the choice, I'll go for the bigest capacity they can offer. Anyway I'll just keep that as a backup just in case the XDA Exec dies on me.
to cktlcmd:
the poll has ended, anyway I will keep on watching this thread...
thanks for yr suggestion.
In case you have any suggestion, please do leave a message in this thread..
thanks
I would vote for the first battery: Its almost lighter than the original one and although has more mAh! - This is great!
Just a quick thought......any external charger for the spare battery? It'll be good if it charges the exec and spare batt simultaneously!!
Dear friends,
After my recent tryst with Atom Life, I found the battery at sub-par level, so felt like buying another more powerful one for me. I searched on ebay & found someone in agency in Hongkong selling the battery.
Battery offered is of 2200mah & 2400mah. As per the seller it requires new back cover to fit the battery which comes along with the sales package.
My hesitation lies in the probability that may arise because of New battery & New back cover. I found people saying that there is some problem with batteries & cover don't fit well.
I call upon all of those who have been through this experience to come out with their views to if it is a nice option to buy a battery & is it safe or is the back cover fits well.
Hope my friends will help me in saving me in case its not the right option which would guide similar attempts of buying a new battery.
Kindly quote your price at which you bought your Battery.

Guyz please come out with your replies. I need your views as I have to finalise the deal in days to come.

I am not sure whether or not I am allowed to post FS ads here, but since it IS the captivate accessories forum I figured I'd give it a try before I head on over to the marketplace on XDA. If this is not allowed here, I offer my sincere apologies and hope that a mod will lock and delete this thread. Please don't flame me
I have for sale my captivate seidio 3000mah extended battery. I think I've had it for about a month. Since then I realized I don't need this extended battery since I get along fine with the stock battery, so I decided to sell this.
The corners of the backplate are getting worn out a little bit, I have attached photos to show the blemishes.
I am selling for $35 + shipping; the lowest price you can find it on ebay is for ~$60. If anybody is interested please let me know. Back fits excellent and the battery holds a great charge--I can get through two and a half day on moderate usage.
how do i pay for you, paypal? do you live in oakland, i live in windsor next to santa rosa
paypal is fine. I'll be in oakland for the next week for spring break and then I'll be back in Davis the week after. Let me know if you are interested through PM and i'll PM you my email address. Thanks!

I was very frustrated to find out that my new 2100 mA battery wouldn't allow my gNex to fit in my Incipio Case so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I'm sure I'm not the first to do this but just trying to show everyone in hopes to get out the idea.
I noticed that the Factory cover was very close to closing over the extended battery but just wasn't enough. So I grabbed my Dremel and went to work on the factory cover. I assumed I would have to cut all the way through the cover to make it fit but I was able to make it work by making the cover paper thin..
Here's the video I posted on Youtube that I have created to explain everything.

I've been wanting to do this for a while. Thanks for the video. With the ground down stock cover, when viewing the phone from the side, does it look stock? Is that little lip under where it says SAMSUNG right above the bottom of the door still there?
Ok, ok, its an ebay purchase. However i did look for items that are at least packaged better than cardboard box.
In this case i bought retail packaged fairly genuine looking item.
However peeling off label reveals beaten up, scratched and dented body. Print is black ink, not etching/pressing.
Writing as follows:
LS LP54657SA-V
CT13 AY07
Reverse side is blank with some more scratches and dents.
Weight of the battery is 1-2g less than original (33g vs 31-32).
Googlefu reveals some chinese manufacturer (TIANJIN LISHEN BATTERY JOINT-STOCK CO LTD) and "Li-ion Prismatic" type (whatever that means).
Never i seen it described as samsung product.
Will add photos later.
I am pretty sure its fake, can someone comment on my findings ?
Someone ? Anyone ?
Could you post detail photos of your original batteries please ?
Dealing with seller that states the battery is legit, but i call BS...
Really need help with this.

Ok, the weight: that is part of the truth. I've got fake batteries which were considerably lighter than the original. Apart from the label, the black printings are not comparable to anything else.
Quick test: discharge any residual charge from the original battery and from this one. Then turn off the phone and measure the charging time of both batteries. You should have a rough idea of how much "juice" the phone is storing inside the two akkus.
