just wondering what you guys use.
i'm looking for in ear headphones with some sort of music control/mic. under a hundred bucks is great, I love bass.
so far i've found these two guys: Klipsch Gaming earbuds, and Klipsch s4a's. I hear the s4a's have issues with some phones though.
I should mention I use power amp

problem solved. gonna use the ones that came with our phones. bass is solid, and so far they are pretty good at blocking noise.
if i find the mic/vol controls to not be worth it, i'll just buy a pair of half decent earbuds without mic control. if the OEM samsung earbuds dont provide me with mic control that I like, I doubt any expensive off market buds will do me justice.

I use the original earbuds that came bundled with this phone and Poweramp music player and the sound quality is more than excellent for me. Nice deep bass especially when you turn up the setting on Poweramp.

If you want BOSE, they make a mobile headset that has mic and volume controls. It's called the MIE2i. Also, Beats make a pair called the iBeats. They are an in ear headset with GREAT sound. I own both and use them interchangeably. I will say though I give the MIE2i's a slight edge because the eargels are the most comfortable I've ever worn.
BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment
Klipsch S4A, made for android. S4i sounds good, when mine need replacing, I'll buy S4A's.

I did the same and since I don't need the Mic, I started using my Sony ear buds. If I get a call, I just pull the phone out and answer, I have to see who's calling anyways.

As far as in-ears under $100 are concerned (which Im assuming your asking for) I like the NuForce NE-700M over the Klipch s4a. Ive had them both and i feel like the highs are more crisp and it has a bit more low frequency extension.
Also if you care about bass more than clarity the AIAIAI Swirl have plenty of bump and an excellent asthetic.
I use head-direct RE-1's along with cmoybb amp there is crisp sound with great bass.

Do either of those work with Android as well as S4A? To me, that's a big selling point. My S4i's are perfectly suitable sound-wise, but the lack of control sucks.

The NuForce has one button/mic combo. One press pauses/plays, two presses skips the track. The button is honestly a little flimsy though so if button is your number one concern
As for the AIAIAI it looks like the new one has 3 buttons but i cant attest to how well it works as i had an old version of the swirl with only one. I can say that AIAIAI's whole deal is that they are really well designed as far as the tangible parts so i would assume that they took a lot of care in designing the buttons.
what earphones set for Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-t989 has best microphone ?
hi,
I've already lost the earphones that came with my new samsung galaxy s 2 SGH-t989. 1 of the reasons I got this phone was for the vlingo voice-operability that makes it good for use while driving. Does anyone know what the best ( or at least a good) earphone set is for this phone, especially with respect to the microphone quality?
thank you in advance.
monster has a BYO headset adapter w/mic that works
picked it up or $10. bought 2-one for walking around and one for the car's Aux-in jack.
what's the OP's budget? can never go wrong with a nice pair of sennheiser cans.

Hey guys, I listen to music on my S3 for about a total of 3 hours a day when walking to university / work, and I would like to have something more comfortable then the in ear from Samsung. I would like something that's over the ears, and not too expensive. Around $100.
I found these:
http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATHM30-ATH-M30-Professional-Headphones/dp/B00007E7C8/
But are those too big for walking around?
And does anyone make any over ear headphones that have volume controls built in?
i use klipsch image one's. theyre not "noise cancelling" but they do a good job of blocking ambient noises, bass is deep and very good klipsch quality. tried the beats(all of them), theyre more for the looks than sound quality.

Some people might berate me for this, but I used skull candy's Hesh 'phones for ages. I'm neither rich nor an audiophile, so I found them great. The volume controls work, too. You can pick them up cheap since the Hesh 2 came out. The 2nd ones are probably not a huge leap forwards.

I'd recommend these. They're pretty cheap considering, and I really like the sound quality of them. They're also very comfortable and come with a nice long cable and a short cable because it's removable.

I'm just waiting for the new V-Moda M-100's to be released on Amazon (for under $300) so I can finally replace my 8-year-old pair of Sennheiser 590's. (My Sennheiser's compressed its foam padding, and lost the speaker driver protection foam; I've replaced a damaged cable 3 times, and the headphone jack is finally on the fritz too). I like to buy a GOOD pair of headphones rarely, instead of pieces of crap that fall apart too soon.
Hey. Recently got a new job and while working I can listen to music. So I've been looking for some decent headphones (on/over the ear only, no earbuds or behind the head types). Looking to spend around $80-100
I'd like them to be comfortable for at least a few hours. I'd like a mic, too. Volume controls don't have to work, but I'd like a play/pause button. Isn't there an app that can make buttons on your headphones work with the phone?
I've been looking at the Klipsch Image ONE's. Look pretty nice, look comfortable, but no idea if the mic works with the GSM, or the controls.
Saw the Sennheiser PX 200-II i, which look a little flimsy, but I'm still considering them.
And these Marshall Majors I can't link. ;p
I also saw the Hesh 2, and Sol Republic's On Ear Tracks.
If anyone has any input on these, or wants to throw some new ones out there, that would help a lot. Just want to make sure I get something with decent sound, a working mic and at least a play/pause button. I'll consider Wireless/Bluetooth ones too.
Thanks, guys.
Just from browsing forums people seem to like the Klipsch S4A ear buds. They come with an android app for the button on the ear buds.

My mistake then, I was thinking about android controls and the Klipsch S4 was the first thought that popped into my head.
Ive just bought the RAZER electra headset in black, and i can say they are the best on ear headphones ive ever owned! over here they were about £50 so im not sure how much that is in dollars!
Really good trebble, nice middle tones and the bass is brilliant when turned up! it comes with two 3.5mm jack to jacks (the headphones have a 3.5mm out on them that you can lock the jack to jack in) one is just a straight cable, the other is one with a built in mic.
Unfortunately there is no Play/Pause function. But im sure you could program the volume buttons to pause and play when you held them down for 3+ seconds? like the good old sony's walk-man phones!
Let me know if you need any help!
Cheers!
Skullcandy's Roc Nation Aviators are really awesome, don't let the skullcandy brand scare u away, some of the most crisp sound out there. Remote works with android too, I think its like you have to hold the buttons instead of pressing but either way, it works and is awesome...and you can get them on ebay used for like $60 or new for $100 rather than the $150 in the store
Am looking for good workout headphones
Any ideas?
well from my experiance I would recomend any in-ear headphones + well fitted silicone rubbers = no chance of falling off.
For better experiance I will also say: get a shirt clip-on or something like that so that cable won't tighten down and pull your ears.
It's a personal matter but I don't like any earphones that go around your ear and any of this fancy designs. in-ear headphones are perfect for running and enduro mountainbiking for me.
PS. my personal pick of in-ears: aJays two
^^^ Excellent broad spectrum advice.
I completely agree with IEMs and shirt clip. Silicon ear tips won't be as comfortable as foam (such as Shure olives or Comply), but clean better.
For more specific recommendations, please either tell us your genres/musical preference and budget or visit my guide in sig.

Comply ear tips: You really can't go wrong on those. They sell kits with different sizes for you to experiment, and when you're sure of your perfect size you can order a whole box of those. They feel amazing and stay in your ear whatever workout you're using. You just have to worry about your phone falling out of your pocket while exercising, which happens to me quite often.
Do you mean headphones or earphones?
For headphones, get yourself the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II Basic Edition.
I've got them as well, light weight, better than best sound quality.

The ones from SONY have an ear clip & are hung on the ear. The ones by BOSE have a unique shape that just doesn't let 'em fall &/or get wet!!

I use my PortaPro's for workouts, they're holding up just fine and get the job done. Sound amazing too, though they're supra-aural so the sound isolation is near nonexistent and sound will leak out at high volumes

Im using Sennheise PMX 685i. Work very well for workouts and just daily use. I find the sound to be very acceptable as i cant use inner ear only buds. Very happy with them but i did over pay for them at the airport $99AUD instead of $50AUD outside of the airport

I use some jbuds that I got on Amazon. 6 dollars and impressive quality for something so cheap.
I would suggest iBeats Headphones
I'd recommend Sennheiser cx300 II (in-ear). They would stick to your ears really nice and won't fall out (at least not whilst running/bike riding/skating (skateboard), haven't tried different sports with them). They don't break too fast either and ain't that expensive (paid 45€ for mine at Saturn in Germany).

Beats by Dre.
you need something light, durable and good sounding:
If you need isolation then look for an earphones like Vsonic, Brainwavz etc... There are many very nice sounding things under $50
If you don't need isolation, either a earbud like Yuin pk3 or Hisoundaudio PAA-1 pro, or a light headphones like Jays V Jays or Portapro
I run with SONY MDR-AS50. They work great for me.

a-JAYS Five have natively-functional headset controls on Android. Volume Up/Down, center Play/Pause and all that. Just make sure to select the version designed for Android.
The only catches are that they're pretty spendy for earbuds, and I think they're still only available direct from JAYS. In Sweden.

Always been a fan of the Jays Earphones. Had a few sets for previous iOS devices. I'll order a set of the new Fives when my Nexus 5 comes in. :good:
LG Quadbeat 2 reportedly working well and good sound.
As for Klipsch S4A being better than most on the market... market is huge, S4 is okay, but after the year I had mine, I was astonished when I bought my Shure SE215s. Infinitely better than S4. That's not even the tip of the iceberg, either.
I honestly prefer Brainwavz R1 over Klipsch S4.

[Guide] Headphone/Earphone Buying
If you didn't spend more on your headphones than you did on your phone, you're doing it wrong!
I gave up on finding a decent pair of IEMs with controls. Sound quality always takes precedence over convenience. That said, my recommendation to you would be to grab a set of Yuin PK2s and some Yurbuds sleeves for them. No controls, but again, sound quality > convenience. They are buds, not IEMS, but essentially turn into IEMs with the sleeves. Incredibly comfortable, and amazing sound quality for under $100. And just an FYI, I have both the Shure e5c (dual driver) and Se530 (triple driver) IEMs both originally costing $500 each and I actually prefer the Yuins to both of the Shures. They aren't anywhere near as analytical as the IEMs, but they are warmer, far more musical, still pretty detailed and just more fun to listen to. Not to mention the comfort- the Yurbuds sleeves make all the difference in the world, and turn them into the single most comfortable pair of headphones I have ever used (I own a LOT of high end headphones). If you can't find just the sleeves for sale, it's worth it to spend the $20-$30 on a full set of Yurbuds just to snag the sleeves off of them.
