Thank you smitty. You da man!!!!
I got your 10 char right here
This rom has come a long way from last week. I used to not could do anything with it but now it is really coming along. Now if we just get the camera working it will be awesome!
Is it just me or does the gyroscope not work? I have the setting enabled to rotate the screen but my screen doesn't rotate. I'm on an Inspire 4G.
I am also loving some of the little improvements from Google here (automatically signing into google sites with the default browser, ignoring wifi networks that don't have a strong signal)
Market closes after 1 second, also when will screenshot feature be implemented?

Try reflashing gapps for the market closing.
As for the screenshot feature, I'm sure there's much higher priority items to get working before screenshots It'll come once stability is ironed out, if at all. Keep in mind, adding the screenshot to the power menu was a CM7 thing, so it may not even come to ICS. Who knows.

Market closing for some was remedied after a reboot. The gapps in the first post of the dev thread 'were' don't know if they still are useless. A lot of apps missing!
Screenshot feature will likely be implemented after most hardware is working. I have a feeling that it could be related to camera, not sure why, but it would make sense to link those 2 features if I were Google.
Camera I have a feeling is gonna be a real *****. Accelerometer is way more important than camera anyway.
I noticed, I think Alienmind, reporting notification LED doesn't work in the other thread. Works for me on DHD using the build that LordClockan uploaded late last night.
Looking forward to the future of this ROM.
Peace

You didn't ask a "tough" task...
You asked for the App to be rebuilt from the ground up, you can't just "add" features to an existing application with ease... It would be like asking your car mechanic to "just" change the engine in your car to get more power... Sure, it can be done, but you have to figure out if the rest of the parts work with what you want to put in.
Glad you found your solution none the less.

Here is a transparent MMS working for the Nexus! Delete the original MMS and install this in its place through something like drop box as you would any other apk. This is the original work of Dhacker so the main credit goes to him, I just themed it a little more. Let me know if you would like it themed with a personal touch of your own? Enjoy!

Mine shows only phone numbers, no names. FC's when I open settings.
Yes, download the apk tool and decompile it then change any setting you want,,,just be careful some changes to .png's or xml's do not go so well so it may take a few tries to get everything to work.

Hey folks, I've had a report from the Play Store that my app is crashing on Glides, but I can't get a log from the users. If any of you would be so good to test out the function and see if you have issues, and then grab me a log of the crash, I would be really grateful.. Will increase your thanks meter of course.
My app thread is here and the latest release is in post #3
When the app opens there is the option at the top to go to Android TTS settings. Apparently, clicking on this causes a crash.
Thanks in advance

Thank you If root is detected, su access is requested for advanced functions. Full busybox commands by voice are in the making!
I downloaded the one from the appstore and that one is working well as well. Got it to learn my name and tell me the time and toggle WIFI on and off. Working fine so far. Yes it does ask for SU. No crashes so far. Is the beta any different?
No problems here. Runs smoothly and recognizes commands.
Running stock rooted.
Tested it on a used Glide I just bought and haven't had time to root yet. Running stock 2.3.5 that was factory reset a couple of days ago. No problems accessing any menu or sub-menu item. Guess I just haven't had time to put enough crap on it to make it unstable.

Thanks guys, it's appreciated - strange that the crash can't be replicated - there must be some other issues on the devices that are having problems.
The beta release is still a while away and will contain many more advanced features for full device control by voice. It's strange bug reports like this that slow me down! At least I can move on from this one now.
Thanks again, your thanks meters have increased.

I should have code to catch that and stop the crash - Why I'm even more puzzled that a crash could happen at all....

This feature is working well on my test devices - it'll make an appearance in a couple of releases time, after I've had chance to test it on multiple users calendars and multiple calendar apps.
Ok I just tested my theory. With Pico TTS uninstalled it tries to open settings, which freezes and FCs, and it dumps you right back in your app. Your app does not crash. Honestly if this is the bug, I'd say it's user error and not your fault.

Good work Thank you. I assume the crash also may extend to the Pico engine (or perhaps any other) having installation corruption of some kind.
Thanks again to everyone who replied and tested, it's really appreciated. I think I can safely say 'not guilty!'.

Currently, Ventriloid and Mangler are non functional for the Android JB firmware. Although the Ventriloid dev has posted a temp fix in the app description, it crashes alot and will not serve much use for me. Is it possible for someone to post a fixed app or a way to access vent on JB?

Just wanted to jump in and mention that I am having issues too. Samsung SII, cm10. When I start ventriloid is initially says connecting, but then very often goes back to mobile's home screen. It then leaves a notification bar entry saying that it is connected. When you click on that, it does its two vibrates and goes off entirely. Sometimes I can get it going again, but is very fiddly. Dont know if this helps. Hope so.

Have downloaded and it seems to work well. (Did loose the Ventriloid icon though!) One comment: One must tick the box Enable Global Push to Talk in order to see key. That is fine, but it does cover up part of you keyboard if you, for example, need to type in a password for a channel. Not a problem, but thought I would at least mention it.).:good:

I'm glad it's working for you I'm working on a complete UI overhaul and that global push to talk was more or less a proof of concept for being able to talk outside of the app. Android has limitations for hardware key interception that won't allow push to talk while the app is in the background, so hopefully people will enjoy this new button. It will eventually be a bar with other options that can be hidden. Thanks so much for testing, I'm glad the ICS/JB fix is working.

I hope someone can help me out with this (I guess most of my posts arent worth bothering with as they usually go untouched by anyone). Screen Filter is an app that can disable the backlight of the softkeys. Set it to auto-start at boot and you should be good. I know its not a direct fix but its a low impact app that shouldnt effect battery life or operation.

There are options to do this in AOKP and CM roms. Anybody know how those builds pull it off?
