My purchase experience...What about yours?

So I wanted to create a thread where everyone can write bout there purchase experience, whether good or bad..
I purchased mines from Negri Electronics and could not be happier. I recieved her today the packaging was secure and full of surprises. Enclosed was the unit wrapped in a nice bag, a USA wall plug (to compensate for the UK version), an ANDY Android figurine (nice touch) long with a thnk you card from them. The Item shipped Black Friday a day after Thanksgiving, Only because they worked there tails off on Thanksgiving itself to make sure all there units shipped Friday. For that I thank them. I could not have been happier with my choice!
How was your experience, please share

To answer your question about my purchasing experience, it has been good so far. I placed an order with Handtec last Wednesday. If it wasn't for the volume bug I would have received it by Friday. I should have it Tuesday morning at the soonest.

It's a pet peeve of mines too!

I also ordered "mines" from Negri. It's arriving Wednesday. The experience dealing with them was great so far. Knowing what's in the box (unless I don't get a figure ) is even better! Recommended as well.

The only difficulty was deciding whether or not I should purchase one, since I owned both the N1 and Galaxy S I thought it would be rude not to go for the GNex.
Once I'd decided, it was a matter of popping down the high street during my lunch break to grab one. I was in and out within 5 minutes, so all in all MINES was a rather pleasant experience.

On that note: Does anyone know how long it takes Google Checkout to refund your money? (Last time I use that stupid method) .. they took off the money the second I ordered my Nexus, I was under the impression you're not supposed to be charged until your order is shipped out >.>

Mixed bag but then I expect no less from Expansys. Phone is here, I'm at work, delivered on time, no issues. I've got a billing issue that I've sent 3 emails in five days, holiday excluded, and no reply.
This fits squarely with my past dealings with Expansys: Product delivered on time as described with crappy customer service.

Got mine from local Phones4U store day after official launch. Went in when it opened to find out they put the sim free price up overnight by £80 to £629 . Didn't buy it.
Phoned head office to complain. They confirmed price increase. I told them about an official phones4u tweet sent earlier in the day that the price would be £549 so they arranged £100 off from local store. Went back and picked it up for £529. Next day, the price went back down to £549.
Bunch of jokers. Only bought from there as didn't want to wait a week for my pre order from clove.

Got mine from Phones4U. It was dreadful from start to finish. To cut a long story short an error in their system for Orange upgrades meant delays. Then delays shipping. It was supposed to come the day after I ordered it but took a week instead; their customer service throughout was dire.
On top of that the "launch" on the 17th was only in one store, and they only told everyone that on the morning of the 17th!
Still, I have it now and love it. Alls well that ends well as they say

That fits my situation as well.
On time, as described.. haven't needed customer service yet.. hopefully won't need it.

Ordered through Negri, cancelled it because Expansys assured me Friday delivery was a go.

Through Expansys-USA, yes. You have to send the phone to them and in-turn they send to the UK for repair. Never had to go that route, but I image it's a long process...
Better than nothing though.

Ugh, it's been a huge fiasco, and I still don't have a phone!
Originally, I ordered last Friday (8 days ago) on Expansys USA for $750. On Saturday (seven days ago), I noticed that handtec would ship to the USA from the UK, it would come out to $50 cheaper, and it looked like it would get here first (at the time handtec seemed very proactive and confident they would ship my order ASAP).
On Saturday I sent a cancellation email to expansys, ordered from handtec, and waited. When Monday came, expansys cancelled my order no problem, and handtec needed all sorts of information (my passport + utility bill) to confirm my address, so my order didn't even get fully processed until Tuesday thanks to time zone differences.
Finally, Tuesday rolled around and they announced they were going to stop shipping because of the bug - I emailed them immediately and asked they send it anyway, they gave me the 24-48hrs BS, and eventually gave me Monday. Bullsh*t.
In the end, if I had kept my Expansys order, I probably would have my GN by now, and I wouldn't be hoping a UK company gets stock they claimed they would have a week ago. At least they upgraded to expedited shipping. .

I placed my order aand its pending Carrier credit check...how long did this take for those who have placed an order?

It would save me ~$50 on taxes with off-contract GN with the $75vzw code. Can anyone chime in?

You get charged tax if your in California and another state, but I forgot which.

sales tax for texas and california. i got charged approx $17 for being in texas. did anyone get the insurance through them? im not sure if it is worth it. thoughts? i did buy it so i'm just wondering if i should cancel the insurance

Lucky you. It's $65 extra in California. We pay tax on the full price of the phone . I'm hoping amazon will price match

Ordered mine bout an hour or so ago, still shows carrier check. Facebook code worked, was like 223 with tax, discount, and a $15 gel case.
New line activation, however I have an existing account with my 4g Xoom, so not sure how that'll confuse ole big red.
Hopefully all gets sorted out today and shipped!

yeah, considered that too, heard other websites are already backordered 8-9 days as of last night. So took a chance with these guys. If it aint locked and loaded by tonight, I'll be cancelling and heading to the VZ store.

I agree, they have it listed as in stock, but i highly doubt they had 200+ available.

"Backordered-In Stock on unknown" not sure what that means, but most likley that aint good.

I just got off the phone with them, they are expecting more in tomorrow or saturday. You can cancel over the telephone. They, however, could not tell me if my order is one that would be fullfilled or not. Only that the stock is officially out.

ordered at 6am est, still on carrier approval, chated with online support(complete douches btw), they said carrier approvals take from 2-24 hours, but the way i see it it should arrive to my house sat maybe Monday, then time to call vzw to make sure they didnt change my family plan around
If someone gets past carrier approval please post your update as well as time when you ordered.

Advice needed, where should I order my GN from?

So I habe a T-Mo GSII and I want to order a Galaxy Nexus, this'll be my first Nexus phone. I've been looking around the forums and there's different sites people have usied to order one. Any personal opinions on which is the best place to order from? Thank you in advance.

If you want top service, order from Expansys. Aside from having a rep on this board who is VERY responsive & helpful (COREY L) they also have a $40 discount coupon 40OFFGNX (that's four-zero-oh) which worked for me as of late last (Thurs) night.
Ordered last night 11PM (PayPal) and it was already picked up by Fedex and scheduled for delivery tomorrow by noon(I paid for SAT delivery).
My guess is if you wait another 2-3 weeks you will see a pretty decent price drop but if you're in a rush I'd say EXPANSYS.
I just sold my T-Mo GSII as well.

Yes, it's pricey at the moment, but the price should come down after the festive season.
Failing the announcement of a domestic US GSM version, go with Expansys.

Handtec UK has consistently been $50 cheaper since release. I've picked 2 from them so far. They also have free shipping to USA. Since it is your first Nexus I should point out that any grey market device will have marginal or no warranty service, including expansys us, read the fine print not the ads. Good luck.

+1 for Negrielectronics.com . They had the cheapest price when I got mine, free shipping and I literally had it delivered to my house the next day. (Sadly it was a friday and I wasn't home so I had to wait until Monday for it to come around again but that was my bad.)
If you do use Negri, use amazon or google check out to speed things up, people processing credit cards with them have reported delays in the process.

Negri also - best price (after coupon), and shipped quickly. Also, no tax for me!
$685 is pretty good for this level of phone off contract.

I don't think I'll ever use expansys UK again. Mine was faulty on arrival and it took two weeks between reporting it faulty and getting the replacement through. Seemed like forever!!!
I don't know if that's typical for Internet retailers, quick to send but slow to resolve problems. It's all sorted in the end so can't complain but waiting two weeks was torture.

Ordered from Negri on the 22nd, the coupon was good for $50. My total was $680.50, and they were offering free shipping via FedEx Saver. Its due on the 29th.
I've always used Handtec, but with that coupon, Negri was cheaper.

I sold my T-MO GS2 and bought a galaxy nexus as well. Great decision imo.
I ordered from Negri and it was there in three days. Ordered on Sunday night, got it on Wednesday morning. Got it for 685.

Ohhhh of course a couple days after I order, they lower the price.
Anyway, did you guys get FedEx shipping? Mine was shipped on the 22nd, and still says estimated delivery is the 29th. I was really hoping for like Monday, or Tuesday at the latest...

If you're still looking and depending on how close to the USA/CND border you are you could pick one up from Bell or Virgin off contract. Especially while the US DOllar is stronger. Just my 2cents...

I went to a Verizon store and bought mine for $650 and didn't have to worry about shipping.

Sometimes buying off contract doesn't make sense, can someone explain?
I have a question about buying unsubsidized phones off contract. It makes sense on certain plans, like T-mobile value plans that end up saving you money. However, for the rest of the folks who are on regular plans with Verizon, doesn't it make sense to get the phone subsidized from somewhere cheap like Amazon. I mean you're going to have the phone at least for 6 months, then you can pay the prorated Verizon ETF whenever you want to cancel your contract. Doesn't it come out cheaper? Am I missing something? Are you guys on different Verizon plans?

I did! Got shipping confirmation and tracking # from Google Checkout about an hour ago. No info yet, of course. CS says 3-5 business days. I'm hoping for this coming Wednesday.

Looks like both CAN and Int'l models are pentaband. Why the difference in price? Is it because Canada already has a GSM model for sale?
I bought the Int'l version from Negri in the beginning of December, and it's great. Only problem is the vibrate function started acting strange. I sent it in for "international warranty" which is about 3-4 weeks. Any word on how long it will take to fix for the CAN model?

I'm assuming its just cheaper for them to import from Canada to NV than from the UK, and they got a better deal. They're on a limited supply sale as well, which could also explain it.

Probably a similar amount of time I'd assume. they still have to receive it from you, then setup the warranty exchange and ship it somewhere else in the world to be worked on.

I am also from canada and i ordered from www.handtec.co.uk , anywhere you pre order outside of canada you will have to pay taxes and duty fee's to the delivery guy when it gets to your door, for the one x it will probably be around 80-100$ on top of what your gonna pay from the retailer. From past experience make sure they don't ship via UPS as they are horrible and charge handling fee's and stuff.

Fedex also charges handling fees. I have ordered from handtec before, and fedex delivers it around 2 days. Really quick service.
Handec declares the amount you paid for the device. So if for example you paid $700 for the device, you will pay the fedex guy upon delivery 12% tax (for BC) plus their handling fee.

Well handling fee i assume is a flat sum however if i could somehow not have that 12% tax...

I may have to go for the sgs3 just for availability

Rogres will be getting the One X but they have the S4 LTE version which is just as good

I want the quad core for the support that it will be backed with there are so many devs and such a large amount of people getting it and i want that kind of community :/
