[Help] Deleted task bar sys apk - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yup, did it after reflash.
I've deleted via titanium whatever gives us the top taskbar, doh.
Not sure if it's status switch but it was around there when I was deleting.
Could anyone do me a big favour & save me the pain of flashing again by upping the right apk.
Thanks all.

So you think you deleted the systemUI.apk? What phone model do you have and what firmware are you using?

UK model, flashed UK firmware, updated to 2.3.4

Wasn't status switch, possibly status bar ??

If u have no status bar you deleted the systemui. apk

That's the one then.
Could anyone upload the apk for me?
Thanks.

All the files in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1036249 are dead.

U could also flash a custom theme with included systemui.apk
I would send it but I have a ics modded theme sorry I will upload stock 1 tomorrow in around 11hours

[Q] custom skins??

I dont know if this is possible to make custom skins that we could choose with the skin chooser? Im thinking no but its worth a shot to ask right

Yeah, i was wondering about that too. As all themes this as well could be created. Question is, where you need to put the file. Guess it must be stored in an accessible dir somewhere. Injecting a new theme there should work i guess.

The ones from the above thread?
They work apparently (thread title).
Just install the .apk you downloaded.
You need flashing for the framework mod, rooted device, it tells in the instructions, if i read it right

I stand corrected. I thought he meant the skins for Sense thing.
You could install the frameworks without root though, by using wpthis.ko
(I think it's .ko)
Just run it, then adb push the framework to /system/framework.
You may need temp-root for this.
But of course, temp-root ain't perm-root
I figured it out. You have to add the framework into a flashable .zip - if anyone would like any of the status bars, let me know and ill upload the .zip's

The frameworks don't change the colour of the statusbar background, just the icon colours and what they look like.

You can check out the link posted earlier in the thread to download the .apk's containing skins. In order to get different status bar icons, you'll need to flash a new framework file via .zip in recovery. The frameworks can be applied to any skin you wish.
I'm currently using the Froyo status bar and am loving it. The best part is having the actual battery percentage overlaying the battery icon. I've uploaded the flashable .zip for this one if you'd like to give it a try. Just install via recovery (dont forget to make a backup if you want to restore to default).

I got in touch with a modder who created a script to enable landscape touchwiz in SGS ..he said he ll try, lets hope he succeeds
using my leisure time to figure out the solution..plzz recommend about this to modders if you know any...this can happen only if we unite..
Hi.
I had a look at your modded launcher from post #1 and it seems you are familiar with apktool!?
You only have to edit AndroidManifest.xml, change nosensor to user (see below)
Code:
android:screenOrientation="user"
What I read in this thread, it seems you have the same problems I had with my modded launcher

It may happen that the first flash won't work (even with an alternative launcher installed). If that happens, restore the original launcher and retry again. Another thing I don't have an explantion for...

Second time you flash the modded launcher it should work (I don't know why).
And don't forget to install another launcher while flashing
Hope that helps
I can upload an edited apk when I'm back home, but it seems to be easier if you try by yourself (as I don't have a Galaxy Ace to test).

Go to you SystemUi.apk (in system/app folder), copy it to your PC.
Open it with rar or with zip7.
You will get acess to the res/drawable-hdpi folder.
Unrar or unzip this folder to your desktop. In it are all the icons that you wanna change... change them as you like... Put the folder back on the apk using the same rar or zip7.
Now - finally - you will have to resign the apk again (search how, 1st time it´s hard to get it right).
Push it back to the phone, backup the original as systemui.bak, and write this one over it.
Install it, reboot.... enjoy
Thanks me 10x if I helped .

Its easy to use but if you get stuck just ask.
Even simpler, use the theme kitchen.

You can even use it for odexed (stock) roms.

There is actually an app called NinjaMorph that you can get from the play store, its what I used for my S2 to changed some icons and you can do it all on your phone, the app will unzip then zip the apk automatically, all you have to do is pick the PNG your replacing the old one with, make sure you got the new PNG in your phones SD card that's all.

There is a thread in the general section by jader13245 about changing icons.
I will paraphrase what iridaki put on that thread:
To change icons of a non-system/downloaded app you must decompile and resign it, otherwise it will FC.
