I dont see that option in settings/application. Can you be more specific?

i found this solution by googling, this may help someone drop by this thread
connect your device to your PC and manually delete the “smdl2temp1” file. The file is likely to reside in 2 locations:
1. /sdcard/.android_secure: this is an invisible folder on your SD card, which you can access with any file manager, like ASTRO
2. /mnt/secure/asec/: access to this folder requires root and a program like Root Explorer
it works for me.

is it solved now??

[Q] all apps are gone from market

All my downloaded apps are gone from the android market (my apps tab). Anyone know how to fix this?
SD card problem?
what do you mean sd card problem? I search and found somewhere that it is a bug I also think so and i don think that it is the sd card's fault... thx for the reply tho
Lol. Cause you may save all downloaded apps to your SD card, and probably your SD card is no longer functioning. thats why you are unable to see those apps. What bug is that? you're currently using stock ROM?
My apps are all fine but when I open the market and go to the my apps tab it says " no application downloaded " and now I cant see updated apps
solved restore one of my recent backup
Titanium Backup can reconnect applications installed and their market links I believe.

[Q] Downloading from android market UK.

Has any one got a solution to why the android market will let you download some apps but not others. This problem only happens with certain apps.
Contacted one of the app developers, and he thinks there may be a problem with my data partition.
I'm on stock rom, latest froyo update, and have not rooted. thanks, in advance, for your help.
Do you get an error message?
I just get the message installation unsuccessful
Try resetting ur phone and clear cach or make a different Google account

region and ROM version also apply
Go to menu/settings/applications/manage applications click the all tab and scroll down to market. Clear data and cache. That should fix it.

+1 for this but if not can you list some example apps so we can see if it's just you (B. East) or not?
The apps i seem to have a problem with are, Cordy the game, storage analyzer, and gun brothers game. I some times have problems with updating from the market. I have to un-install some apps then download them again to update. this happens when the app has been moved to the sd card, but not with all the apps that I have moved to the sd card

No problems here. This is going to be something up with your phone.

Not all apps like being on the SD Card. Do all your apps specifically say they have been updated to allow them to be moved to sd card?
You may have to move them to phone if they continue to cause issues (and to be honest, with a 1GB internal memory, putting apps onto a slow sd card really isn't worth doing.

Did you try this?
If all of the above fails to work you will probably have to factory reset the phone.
I tend to download using wifi, going to try downloading over 3g and see if that makes any difference, if not, will do a factory reset. thanks for the help though.
Before you do that you still haven't said if you cleared the market cache. Did you?
yes, i done that, tried to download again and got a message, "could not install on USB storage or sd card". First time I have seen that message.
Is this whilst trying to update an app or download a new one?
If to update then move the app to the phone first.
this is trying to download a new app.
Had a quick Google and found something to try.
mount the phone so you can access the sdcard.
Set to show hidden files
Go to folder .android_secure
Delete a file in there smdl2tmp1.asec
Then try again.
thanks, I will give it a go. can I use a file explorer to do this, because am not sure how you mount the phone, I am quite new to android, use to use winmo mobiles
you can yes, my favourites are Astro, Linda and ES.
I had a look in android_secure, made sure all hidden files would be visible, and could not find any files at all. checked to make sure that the hidden file visible setting in the file explorer was switched to the correct setting, and could not see any files at all.
Have I lost some files? if i have i have no idea how. do I need to do a factory reset?

Damn. When I found that possible solution I noticed that as many people said they did have it as said they didn't. I was hoping you would be lucky.
In this case the same file (apparently this is a known bug and has been marked for next version fix) is being stored in the system directory of the phone and without root you can't get access to it.
I'm afraid the only way to clear it (without root) is a factory reset, sorry.
thanks for your help, I will factory reset and see what happens.

[Q] Unable to see storage card when running on Android

Hi all,
I am trying to get android to work on my old Tilt2 for my fiance so we can play games together. I've gone through all the steps by adding the correct files to the root of the storage card and running Haret. Every thing seems to work "fine" other than the fact that I can't see a storage card while in Android. I tried to partition my SD card to see if that would help but I am unable to determine the proper way to do that. Any help would be appreciated
Do you have some type of file manager installed on Android? I know that I could always see it, with the exception of the Android folder on my card.

I've said this 100x, not sure why it never shows up on people's searches...
But backup all the data on the card. Format the card (full format, FAT32) using the HP Tool. Restore all the data on the card after the format, or start over fresh doesn't really matter. Apps should now be able to see the card, etc.
I'm not concerned about apps seeing the storage card. I don't have a "My Files" app that will let me navigate the card. Do I need to download a file manager in order for it to work?
I fixed it.. I had to download a file management app I feel dumb now.

Amusingly, I use multiple file storage apps. Super Manager for making system files r/w, and file expert for the look and feel. I have astro too, on my other phone, but only really use it for enabling all file type downloads from the web.

[Help]Apps form SD are unloadable(unreachable)

Hello to all!
At last few days, my phone start bugging.. First and biggest problem is that, all apps from SD card are unreachable( cant be loaded, but they are installed).. Also, other files are available on SD card.. Can preview pics, listen music, etc.. Also, few days before this problem, phone didnt open any pic and failed to load any video.. I dont know what I did, but that problem is gone..
Phone is rooted, and worked fine till now..
I must notice that this is happen after SD defragmentation.. Maybe I'm wrong, but that is last app I installed before problem..
Please, give me some options becouse I have alot apps installed and moved to SD.
Ty for any suggestions, all are welcome!
If you have apks than try to install them again.
If you don't have apks
Than u can find your installed apks here
just open any file manager
Go to
MNT>ASEC
just copy them
To sdcard and reinstall
we all should be polite enough to press thanks for anyone who helped US.
Your SD card has gone kaput. Try scan and fix through Windows. If it fixed, even then you may have to install apps again.
Ahh, ty guys..
I have apps on application menager, but icon is like unmounted SD card..
Also, I tried to defrag by PC, scan with NOD32, and nothing..
I have good progress in games, so it would be a pity to play them again.. Btw, if that is only way, I dont have to choose..
Feel free to give me some more recommendations..:good:
Guys, if someone can post me some good file menager with which I can see and "backup" list of apps and apps.. I have installed Kies, but they dont have ability for that..

Again, try saving the game folder on your PC and restoring after fresh install. It should work.
I tried today Mi File Explorer, and in APKs, I dont have all installed games.. Only few... Maybe I need to setup something?
Mi File Explorer shows the APK installer file and not the installed APKs. So if you need to backup your installed APK, then installed Airdroid first and then from web interface, select the games files you need to backup and you're done.
I tried to connect to Airdroid, but still no apps.. There are not on System apps too..
I also tried to format MMS, but nothing...
Ok, I downloaded a Root Browser Lite and in phone memory(I think, its first what I see when I open the app) in folder Data>data, I found app folders.. U can see in attachments.. What should I do now?

[Q] TItanium Backup SD card not writable after Lollipop Upgrade

I have the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3. I was on stock and just took the OTA upgrade to Lollipop (N900TUVUFOB6). After doing this, I rooted the phone with CF Auto Root and installed TWRP 2.8.5.0. I have root access fine. I keep my apps backed up from Titanium Backup on my SD card. When I open up Titanium Backup it tells me the directory isn't writable. I am on the latest su binary / supersu and I have tried changing the mount namespace setting with no luck. Is there anything else I could try to fix it?
Did you install the SD card fix app?
I think there is an option on lollipop to authorize other apps to access directories that are not there own. That might be the problem.
I searched and found you need to change a setting in Preferences - Backup folder location. Near the top is Storage Provider. Click and change to Directory provider. Fixed it for me. Never knew that was a setting before!

Thanks so much! I had to pick the option DocumentProvider storage and then select the directory through there. Working fine now.
Sorry. Meant Document provider not Directory provider. ?
Has anyone found a reason why TiBu now thinks the entire directory of dalvik cache is unnecessary when you run the clean up option?
Changing that to DocumentProvider storage solved my problem too sjancura, thanks!
Hi,
I spoke too soon... I am still having problem with using external SD card with titanium backup.
I changed the storage provider to DocumentProvider but I cannot 'save' that selection as it's grayed out - please see the screenshot.
I have tried changing name of ex SD card. At first I used SDFix apps which were able to help with similar problem in KitKat but haven't fixed the issue now in lollipop.
I had the same problem (Running Lollipop and TB) and I got it fixed by using one of the KitKat fixes. The one I used was "SDFix" by "NextApp, Inc." in the google play store.

Hours of frustration brought to an end by that advice ... thanks mate ... you're a legend!
Hi,
I tried running SDFix, having run it in tbe past, prior to finding out this morsel of info on changing DP. However I still can't get it to save that location. Same greyed out directory like previous user posted.
Yeah I found that as well, changed it but could not "save" to that folder location (greyed out). Tried SDFix app, no change. Tried creating a new folder in TB, AND then using ESFile Explorer & neither would allow me to write to the extSD card. Rooted, stock Sprint Lollipop ROM.
I had that issue, worked it out. When you're browsing for a folder with the DocumentProvider select the root of the SD card, then it should close and return to the browser in Titanium Backup. Browse to the sub folder you want, you should be able to click the save button now.
Hi Ghosthree3,
Thanks so much for this. I'm going to give it a shot. My extSD card was used in the past on an earlier version of Android OS, whereby I could write to the extSD card just fine. Consequently there are prior backups on there. As such, I'm wondering if i should mount the phone, copy that folder off, delete that folder on the extSD card and then via TB create a "new" Titanium Backup folder and see if it then allows me to write. Note: I tried mounting the phone to my PC in an effort to create a folder on the extSD card and that method too, prevented me from creating a folder, hence my thought on getting what I have off of the device, and attempting writing a new folder per your directions. I wonder if my PC will allow me to erase that folder.....

Thank you!
Hi s j a n cu r a,
Thank you very much. Someone else posted that, but maybe i'm not selecting it properly. When I select Document Provider, I browse to "Open from SD card", scroll down to the "Titanium Backup" folder, hit "Select" the "Titanium Backups" that are there [at one time I had no issues writing to my EXT SD card], it then says, "Detect!" [External storage] and I select "Everywhere in External Storage". It finds 41 backups there, I select that "External Storage' radio button. That's where I seem to hit a wall. The "Use the current folder" appears to be greyed out. I'm left only with "Cancel". I think there is some deeper issue writing to ExtSD because with File Explorer I can't copy picture files from one folder to the other. That's what is giving me this feeling that something else is going on with write permission. Frustrating to say the least. My only recourse at this point is to use the internal SD, which does work.
Google lollipop external sdcard fix. There's an app in the play store.
