I accidentally uninstalled "Contacts Storage 2.2.1" with titanium back up. I tried reinstalling it with titanium back up, but it does not work.
What can I do? I lost all of my contacts!
Have you tried pulling it from the original rom you flashed and pushing it into system/app through root explorer?

If u had them backed up on googles cloud thingy, u can odin stock or flash a new rom to get them back
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Just reflash your ROM then you will be able to restore them with Titanium. It needs the system app installed to restore the data. OH, and if you are going to play with deleting system apps, use sdx app removal tool and back them up with the app first.
Relished and fixed.
Thanks.

So for the past few weeks I have not been able to get titanium to update, I went to uninstall and it fails to uninstall. Anyone with any ideas? I know I could wipe but my last backup I was already having titanium problems, and it's not worth starting from scrach for one program. Maybe someone knows how to delete manually could help me out that way? I am using the donate ver. Thanks for whatever info you guys can lay on me.
Oddly, my Titanium has had a problem a few times, lately, where it won't do a back up or restore. You select one or the other, and it just switches to the list of apps.
I noticed that clearing data in Application Manager seems to fix the problem, but I hope the dev for this app figures out a fix soon.
Anyhow, you can remove it via Root Explorer, reboot, then reinstall it.
Uninstalling it will not remove your backups.
I was going to remove with rootexplore but what files do I need to delete and keep?

Don't forget trying to update busy box. That has solved a few titanium problems for me in the past.

It should be in /system/app/
or do a search for titanium and remove whatever comes up
Thanks for the help guys. I did try updating busybox, that didn't fix it.
I deleted files in the app folder, that didn't help. Then i used the search in root explorer deleted only files that were not on my SD card. Re-booted, installed titanium (install worked this time) went to market and was able to download and update. So all is good. Thanks again guys!
I rooted my phone with revolutionary and switched to cm7. I origanally used my backup root tosave my apps and it always worked. Now I have the app file but it wont open my back up. I tried to back up my apps in the stockromandit says I dont have root. Ive tried every app I could find in the market. There are a few I have that arent in the market anymore. Any ideas on how to save them?
titanium backup?
Did you back up with clockwork mod?

How did you backup your ROM? If you used recovery then you're up a creek without a paddle.
Titanium backup and start over. Best advice

I did back up in recovery. I ended up using my backup. Titanium wouldn't work. Then reopened the file with my back up root. Thanks for all the help guys. Just a newb learning the ropes.

The only app I back up is angry birds n that's just data backup. What apps do u really need to back up vs just reinstalling? I don't really see the point in backing up anything other than a game save

Your stock rom probably isn't rooted.
Restore the nandroid backup, then flash Superuser through recovery. You can find the file here: http://goo-inside.me/superuser/su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip
You may need to install Busybox for Titanium Backup to work, but I think the developer removed the need for it. You can use a Busybox Installer from the market to install it if you need it.
Don't restore system apps or data when you restore on CM7.

Titanium Backuo isn't restoring my apps after in have backed them up. I am a paid user. I have gone as far as uninstall/reinstall....delete the folder containing the backup files...deleting only backup files. Still whenever I flash a new ROM or simply want to restore my apps...the progress bar shows activity yet nothing is restored. Anyone else have a similar problem

Is you "sdcard" partition mounted? If you are doing this with your USB cord plugged in, try taking it out while doing a backup/restore.
Otherwise, I don't know what else could be causing a problem like that. I haven't had that happen to me. Are you updated to the latest version of Superuser?

Deleting your backup files? Thats not a good idea. Titanium doesn't store on the cloud so you are out of luck mate..
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Titanium can store to dropbox.
Do you have "unknown sources" ticked under security settings before you started restoring? I know its basic answer but let's do this step by step.
If this isn't doing it try backing up one app with a different backup prog and see if that restores.
Go to the market and uninstall titanium backup and reinstall again...now when youll open titanium backup it will create the directory again on your sd card and the backup will work..

If his original backups were deleted he won't get them again.. drop box is not synced for him otherwise he wouldn't be asking this.. they have drop box so you can save storage space on your phone for the backups

Hi,
I recently updated my Hercules T989 to Jellybean 4.1.2 via Kies. When I was on ICS, I could easily uninstall the t-mobile stock apps(or any other stock apps) using Titanium Backup Pro. But after upgrading to JB 4.1.2, I cant uninstall a single stock app. I tried updating Titanium backup pro from 4.1 to 4.5.6 but its still the same. It can freeze the apps but one app: 't-mobile accounts' unfreezes itself. I dont know how it happens. By the way, the device is rooted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
+1

Did u do it in jellybean 4.1.2? As I said earlier, I could successfully uninstall/freeze all those stock apps using TB earlier when my phone was on ICS. This problem arose after I upgraded my firmware.

Are you sure Titanium Backup has root permissions? Check your Superuser app log and make sure they're being granted. You need root access for Titanium Backup to be able to remove/freeze system apps (like the built-in stuff).

Yes, I have rooted my phone after I upgraded the firmware through kies. I checked my root status using the app 'Root Checker Basic'. It says my phone as proper root access.

Yes, I have checked it. TB has been granted root permissions. TB successfully freezes all my system apps. But only one app - "T-Mobile My Accounts" unfreezes itself automatically after a while. I dont know how or why that happens. All my other system apps stay frozen except that one single app. And about uninstalling, none of the system apps can be uninstalled. When I run the batch operation to uninstall, it shows the progress bar but gets stuck at 0%. No progress at all.

my problem along with a screenshot
TB freezes all my stock apps. but as I mentioned earlier, one app - "T-Mobile My accounts" unfreezes itself after a while. And when I try uninstalling any stock apps, it just gets stuck. The progress bar doesnt move (show any progress). I am attaching a link to a screenshot about what happens.

Please if anyone has found the solution to this problem, I would be very very grateful.
PS. : As other members suggested, I have checked everything. The Chuck Norris mode is on. TB has root permissions. Everything seems to be in order.

I have just run into the same problem. T-Mobile My Account will unfreeze itself upon reboot. Any ideas? Would prefer not to uninstall.

Sounds like you are using a stock based ROM then. So you will have to live with that app. Otherwise you may cause problems by trying to delete or freeze it. Anybody that is determined to remove it, you can use a root based file explorer and delete the apk from the system/app folder. Backup the app somewhere by copying & pasting it in another folder, so you can replace it later if you start experiencing issues.
hello guys,
by mistakenly I moved my titanium backup pro as system app,
now when I try to move it back to sd card, its not moving..
it says unable to download
pls help...
had same problem, uninstall and install it from google play and it works
I'm on jellybean 4.1.2, rooted, titanium backup installed. Once I back up a system app such as at&t locker or allshare play, what if I go ahead and delete it via TB? Can I completely restore it via TB later with no consequences? Thanks for any help on this.

Yes you can delete and restore apps without any consequences as long as you only delete apps that you know for sure what they are and what they do. Allshare is fine but some apps are important for the system and your phone wont run without them.
