It's simple , WiFiDirect i set to True... then I try this setting on S8500 device but... it did not work
Then here is my question: has the wifi chip need some specs to be compatible with wifi direct?

Good Question

You see that Wi-fi.org says that it's just a software upgrade and does not require a special chip cuz wave has 802.11 a/b/g/n

I tried as well, but same result
My theory: there is something implemented also in apps_compressed.bin. I had no time to explore but i think the key is right there.

hmmmmmmmmm
We need to do further research to understand this
Why no one said that "it is implemented in *.so files" ??
For instant i saw Wifi-direct in My files & Gallery apps
Most strange thing that *.so files from S8600 are away different from S8500
take MediaExplorer.so file as an example
From S8500...About 400 kb
From S8600...About 30 kb !
Why this big difference ?!
Maybe i thought in the wrong direction and functions are implemented in S8600 Apps_comressed.bin
What i am sure of that the file holding System Info has nothing to do with Phone functions ....It is made for apps like badaSI

A Tv-Tuner For Blackstone?

Is it possible to have a usb Tv Tuner working on a HTC HD??
No.
Or at least there is no tv tuner for Blackstone that I know of.
Never heard of it, but would love it
There is actually one I've tried and worked pretty good. But you need to add your own country specific channels. It does have some pre-installed american and french channels you can play with. To be honest, I forgot the name and application of this tool. I will look it up and add it later to this post.
Here as well a TVguide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=499849&highlight=fbtv

It's my belief that HD has not got usb host
ie: the hd can be a peripheral to another device but not the other way around

Currently there's no Android for S8530. The biggest problem is the different LCD controller, but this could be resolved later when the other problems eliminated.

AS YOU KNOW THE PROJECT WAS SUSPENDED. But there is a new attempt started recently. Just they are trying to work it on Wave 1. But if it works on Wave 1, Wave 2 has a small progress: LCD DRIVER!
Any news Android 4.0 on Wave I and II ???
@up
Heh, no news and you shouldn't expect any news about ICS for wave family. You should ask about gingerbread ;D
Touchscreen sensivity is too high in android
I am unable to use the touchscreen functionality properly in android on bada. I have loaded on SD card dual boot with Bada 2.0.
I am finding difficulty in scrolling or long-press (to create shortcut in home screen) or play "angry bird" , I cannot pull and hold the catapult.
Is there any workaround ? Have others faced this problem ?
The drivers are being developed. please wait
6 Weeks...
We are waiting about 6 weeks but once again nothing happens with android on S8530 (

What are you talking about? Does that looks like nothing for you:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32145655/IMGP5105.jpg
A couple of weeks ago this wasn`t even possible but thanks to Oleg S8530 owners have hope again. If Rebellos has success with the modem and Oleg success with the Kernel then this project might be successful after all.
So again, be patient and if you don`t want to wait then buy an Android phone, it`s just that simple
At the moment only 2 Pics...
And this is nothing yet.
Best Regards

Actually S8530 progress is now like the same as for S8500, LCD driver is operative, though it doesn't support some improvements like MDNIE yet. We are just busy with more important stuffs than porting for now.
when??????
hi
sorry for this question
but when I can use android on my s8530???
then..... when it will be released !!!
When I get to port Android to it?
When it's done! Seriously, please, read the threads about the android porting... There's no ETA, the progress is very slow as only Rebellos and oleg_k works on it.

Here is the new firmware KH1 for S8500, does someone try it ?
Have you seen better things ?
For me : Apps works (But fruit ninja and slice it Reset the phone when install... but it works after.)
Not so lag
New sounds since kg6
No allshare bug in mp3
Fb works but a bit long
Samsung apps bug sometimes (the app close it self and the wave lag if we forgot to turn on the wifi...)
...
I am currently downloading, I'll test later in the evening here (Greece).
I wonder why SamFirmware doesn't provide us with a changelog, along with the F/W.

Not relevant, since SamFirmware has ROM testers that check the FWs before the uploading process. They always test and check the features and aspects of the ROMs.
If you remember,we had info & changelogs for the first two BADA 2.0.1 ROMs. (XPKG5 & XPKG6), but no info for the 3rd (XPKG7), just "a more stable release".
anyways..

no, I didn't. I had many hopes that the CSC "hacking" method ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179033 ) could give me the Greek lang, but since my testing came up with errors and the infamous "endless loop boot cycle", I reasoned that it's still too early for an OXC csc file to be found on the net.
I frequently check b_adaspain for an OXC csc for bada 2.0, but I really think it's still too early.
As with everything here in Greece, I'm sure that the Greek translation of Bada 2.0 will be at the bottom of the OS translators' list.
for more details about my testing, read my post on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16295265&postcount=28

Yes, more samsungapps programs are working, for example GPS programs or apps using camera (eg. Quick Qr Reader)
can we see spoof apps workin on bada 2
yes spoofing apps will be a new feature of bada 2.0, so everyone can steal apps, thats logical...
Short tested...
It seems they closed other stupid Security hole.
Maybe this FIX is also since newer JL2 Firmware... like KF3 and so on...
Will test.

Please understand, that bada Developer nor Samsung are "extreme" happy about Spoofing...
No bada Developer = 0 Apps
I hope you understand what I want to say...
To your Question...
It seems at this time all known holes to install commercial Apps are NOT working anymore in leaked 2.0 FW...
This means not, that bada 2.0 is now unbreakable...
Its NOT my intention to find new hole... From me also 0 support for "Spoofing".
Thanx for reading.
Maybe better now back to real topic.
Best Regards
That FW is really good
bada 2.0 is getting its own polish now
The comparability issues seems to be solved
Now no way to back to 1.2
I just hope that the missing features come back
Best Regards
what about 3g/signal strength for countries outside of europe? what diffrent options do you have in network mode. (eg GSM 900/1800 etc.)
thanks
changes since XPKG7 that I spotted:
- you can now disable the double tap activation feature for the Voice Recognition
- I feel the phone a bit more responsive than before
- at last, KIES via WiFi synchronization works flawlessly! (KIES v.2.0.2.11071_128) however, when you go to SamsungApps, KIES will pop a dialog warning you that app installation is not able over WiFi or Bluetooth. still... who cares! you can do it with the USB cable, or via the classic way (on Wave directly).
- screen rotation a bit faster!
- some apps that now work:
Fruit Ninja
BadaBox (DropBox client)
Smart Office (1.5.2 latest)
Bambuser
Quick QR Reader

[Q] Can we add various keyboard to bada?

hi !
first of all plz see the screenshots.
we have a keyboard option in bada 2 which selected samsung keyboard as default. (maybe we can add another keyboard to select )
and i ask one of samsung employee and he said "i seems you can add various keyboard "
and i want to know can we do this? (like Android)
ـــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
sorry for my bad english!
hello
read all this post:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984482&page=16
TNX
i know how add language (keyboard and ... ) to build a CFW.
i say in android we can add keyboard for example with bigger buttons or .... !
according to the screen shots it seems that we can chose another ketboard!
Keyboard option in bada 2.0 is made mainly to choose between different regions keyboards (checkout bada sdk to understand what i mean)
Samsung didn't make this option to allow third party keyboards - not yet ! - maybe in a future update or so
Maybe some great modders edit both *.so & *.rbm files to make their own keyboards but currently it is so hard to do it

i know that "WsRsrcVirtualEdit.rbm" is for keyboard color .
if you remember the first bada 2 keyboard was white if we replace this file our keyboard become white ! (but characters shows no change )
i have no more info !
I have seen somewhere letters... but forgotten where...
We could with Wave_Remaker search and identify...
Best Regards
Unfortunately i can't modify all RBM files from Wave_remaker.
i always got error or it's just show me one ting
i'm using 2.7 any idea why?
We can't modify... yet.
But its good idea to tell us filename... If you found allready...
So we could try together...
Best Regards
Filename VivaSamsung mentioned is correct....it was a while back when i found out that info
WsRsrcVirtualEdit.rbm controls some parts of the keyboard theme...not everything
Also i was thinking of more functionality not just a theming thing
Best Regards
In WinSet I have not spent enough time to search...
It seems not all Pics visible... in XXLA1 DBT ...
Maybe more Pics in other Firmware... maybe bada 1.x better... for see all Pics...
Maybe we could disable meanwhile few Pics... to be sure it is what we think...
Like I did with Logo...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27871070&postcount=122
Best Regards
Btw...
We could use WinComm to log which RBM files are called...
Best Regards
