Gamejoy Analogue Stick - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Accessories

Anyone tried one of these with the GT10.1? Are they any good?
Main use would be N64oid

Asked the same question in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322716.
Hope you have more luck getting your answers here .
I still think it looks kinda funny and could give you problems with a screen protector (if you use one).

Well the seller says screen protectors make no difference and if you look at his ratings he can probably be trusted, I wolud say it should work fine. I may buy just to see, just think, it would be great not having to connect a wireless controller to play retro games with an emulator

If you do buy one, make sure to report back . I'd really like to know how it works.

[Q] Screen Protector Questions

Hi everyone,
I'm going to be getting an SGSII, and I'm not sure whether to get a screen protector or not.
I think I will (better safe than sorry), but I'm really confused as to all the choice.
There are cheapo ones off ebay, and there are $30 ones from Zagg, and a crapload in between!
What are all the different ones out there? What's different about them? What are their pros and cons?
How easy are they to put on?
How much do they actually protect?
How much do they cost?
How do they feel?
How do they look?
How do they affect the touchscreen?
How am I supposed to know which to chose, if at all?
Please don't just say a brand and that you recommend it, tell me why.
Thank you,
Amando.

I wont be getting one my galaxy s hasn't got a single mark after a year of use. Ive applies many screen protectors in the past to other devices and I've never been able to apply one perfectly (tiny spec of dust/ slightly missaligned etc)
This phone doesn't need one. I would get a case though

That's a thread addressing whether it needs one or not, none of the questions I've asked are really properly answered in that thread...

I'm not sure whether I want one or not... I can see your point, but there's always the 'just in case' nagging feeling... I'm a student and I live away from home. I shouldn't really even be buying the phone, but I want it and i *can* afford it, at a sacrifice for a few weeks. So I just want to make sure it is worth it.
I like zagg a lot, great protection and gives it some grip.... better safe then sorry is always the best method.... putting it on can be a pain... you really cannot go wrong.... it is to protect the screen and does not affect anything IMO
I actually always found the Zagg ones to be really fiddly to put on and overpriced. On my old phone I went with a cheap screen protector. I just needed to protect it from the possibility of my headphones scratching it in my pocket but that's about it.
It all depends on the amount of protection you think you need. If you're gonna be gental with it then the cheap-o ones will do the job and they're easier to apply.
Ive ordered a xtremeguard until something better comes out. But they got good reviews online. You have to install with a little water though.

[Q] Game Controller GRIP(s) for SG2 !?

Greetings,
I'm an Android newbie and just got my Galaxy S2 last week...
Consider me being a video game-o-holic you can understand why I developed a sever case of finger spasms/reduced manual functions over the past few days
I wonder if someone tried one of these "GAME CONTROLLER GRIP / GAME PAD CONTROLLER" seen at eBay (mostly for the iPhone though...).
Is there something suitable for the SG2 as well?
Perhaps the iPhone models can be modified for the Galaxy !?
Gal
(I can't post direct links yet..sorry...)
i think one is icontrolpad, not sure who makes it but seen a few youtube vids , there's another type i forgot the name
iControlPad will work, but I don't think it can grip the SGSII (despite having a couple of sizes of side-grips). The other one is the Phonejoy, I have one, works great (although only the emulators and Gamevil titles will work with it, enough for me, but perhaps not others).
Actually - I've been looking for a more "passive" controller similar to the images I posted.
It's probably no more than "ergonomically" designed cover for the phone, hence, fully compatible with any game/app - especially in horizontal mode...
Its cheap and seem to make playing more comfortable then holding a bare phone...
BTW - looking at the "Phonejoy" ... I couldn't help myself thinking its probably feasible to utilize a more "universal" solution to work with other ,commonly available, BT controllers - perhaps with few bits of code trickery from an XDA wizard
!?!?!
Wouldn't it be cool?
Did I miss a similar existing project?

You could try this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Making-a-Nintendo-SNES-controller-into-bluetooth-/
Basically, the guy took a BGP100's innards and interfaced it with an old SNES controller. Apparently it works quite well, and it seems he takes orders for building one for you.
iControlPad has a set of rubber sides coming soon that converts it into a plain Bluetooth controller without the clamps to hold a phone. SGS2-sized clamps aren't available yet.
Not quite sure what you meant by "passive" tho.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you know that info about the iControlPad? Anybody here tried the iControlPad with a SGS2?
BTW I contacted the Phonejoy dealer, and apparently he is hoping to be selling a new model based on the PS3 controller (IE: with added analog sticks) early next month!
That info is available at the iControlPad website.

UtorCase Controller mount for PS3, PS4, 360 and One mini review and pics!

This review is for a Sony Xperia Z Ultra, but UtorCase is tailor made for over a thousand other smartphones at https://www.shapeways.com/shops/utor-case where you can search for your phone name. If you cannot find your phone just shoot an email to the UtorCase designer, that is how I finally got one made for my extra large Phone.
Disclaimer:
I have been nagging the designer for a Xperia Z Ultra version for a long time and finally he did it. I bought it on my own money first but after chatting with him as he wanted me to let him know how I liked it, I commented that I was going to post a review of it and he offered to refund my money for me taking the time to post a review. So, I like to make this clear because even though I am a LONG time member here and never have tried to do shady businesses, well..someone is always going to be a smart ass about it.
So with that said...Greetings!
So, as I have a BIG phone, the Xperia X Ultra, I have been looking for a way to play my games with a PS3 controller (specially emulators). Unfortunately the ones like MOGA that I was using before cannot hold my Phone plus I much prefer the PS3 controller.
So finally I found this UtorCase design which is simple and effective. As you can see by the pics, you just wrap this around your controller and it locks in perfectly.
If it can hold my phone when lying on bed to play games then it can hold any phone!
Please notice in the close of up pictures that my phone wont fit perfectly because I have a glass protector which adds .4 thickness and YET, as you can see on one of the pictures, it is so good at keeping it in place that even when not fully fitting, I can play with it lying on bed without it falling off. :good:
The material is also very light and gives the impression of not being tough yet it is.
Of course with anything designed for one single device there is always the situation of when you upgrade the phone you must buy another but to me, I dont upgrade right away since usually you need to wait a generation after yours to get real improvements and for all the enjoyment I will get from it, it is well worth the money.
Thanks for reading! :good:
Honestly I think this product is over priced, as a brand new Linx 7 only costs £39.99 in UK and this piece of plastic will cost £23 includes shipping, bearing mind, it is only a pure piece of plastic regardless how awesome this idea it is. I'm not going to buy one but good luck if you have already god it.

mmmm considering you are replying to this TWO YEARS later, things have probably changed on the market.
Plus I dont see how first one item relates to the other because I dont see that tablet you are mentioning holding my controller. At the time there were pretty much no alternatives for this phone and a controller so you know...supply and demand.
Also, I dont see how shipping charges are at the sellers fault. You live in UK and I doubt international buyers were his primary target.
In any case, not sure why you say "good luck if you already got it"...I mean I provided photos of it holding my phone and did a review of it which I thought you have read before posting but looks like you didnt read much...

How is the keyboard working? I heard the Samsung keyboard for S3 is very flimsy and looses contact with tablet when you press on the screen a little too hard. Looking for an alternative...

I've seen some websites recommend this keyboard for the tab s3 and some reviews featured it. Additionally I have a transparent rubbery back screen guard and also the sides and all. I didn't mention that.
Well the tablet doesn't slip due to this but it used to do I got the back rubber matter cover. But now I can't put it easily with the screen guard protection. Anyways it doesn't slip so that case is relagated to backup.
Well all the keyboard features work well but I'd recommend the k380 as it's lighter and better. But if you're looking for tablet friendly then go for that. Well I write a lot on it and it's been fine so far no lack. My friends feel the click is kinda noisy but I squish type it isn't an issue for me and I knew of this before buying I did my research.
Again I'd recommend k380 if you've got a good flip cover and don't use it as a laptop replacement or are a heavy user. Eventually I suggest if you can try it out or Amazon it if it's returnable and try it out. Both of them.
For me K480 is what works. There is even the anker keyboard. It's good but nothing beats Logitech except the ipad keyboard case. Was that Logitech too? Anyhow a google search for best portable keyboard would help you. But in the end you'd come down to either k380 or k480 or a third one like anker or such

General Finally got it

Yeah, price tag is what it is and it took me a while to decide to buy it however, I've bought it.
Wanted badly to try the OPPO Find N2 but is basically impossible to find it Italy.
My Flip3 obviously went to my gf .
First impression is very good.
Got the 256gb version which are more than enough to me.
Front screen is awesome, I can now type with one hand. Inner display is awesome to use with two hands.
Phone however has a strange form factor and getting used to that is not easy also it's heavy and, with both the spigen covers I've bought, it looks like a brick. Not a problem, I like bricks.
Camera didn't impressed me at all to be honest. Also I've already faced some resolution problems with a game ( League of Kingdoms ) which I play all day long basically but it only happens on the inner screen.
Never stand reading books on phone but I think this one will make me change my mind. Also drawing on it is awesome.
This told, do you have any suggestions like apps and accessories for this brick?
Look up good lock that will give you some more little perks for some more little tweeks I had the og fold and liked it ill get another fold at some point though
posted this in another thread, thought you might find it useful
and this one

Try naked or aramid/leather case. It's a lot more durable than you think! Most things that would do it in will render any other flagship into a pile of broken glass any way you look at it!
The camera is fine for what it is, typical Samsung processing keeping results within its limits unlike the S22 ultra that pushes sharpening to the extreme. ;-) The only thing I miss is the long zoom but the 30X stretch still works for sign reading when needed.
samsung original case with flip back to make it a tablet stand... is a perfect choice for me.
