Hi there,
I tried two different silicone cases/ skins- one cheap no name product and a not cheap nilkin skin... with both people who talks to me hear their voices like a slight belated echo again. The sound somehow gets thrown back to them through the silicone skin. Thats very, very irritating for them.
I am sure about the silicon skins as the reason- I removed one during a call and the problem vanished at once.
Apart from the fact that the nilkin case was not really cheap I really want to use a silicon skin for my phone. I don't want to let it naked and I don't like the leather flip-cases I have at the moment.
Am I the only one with this problem?
If so- what could be the reason?
Any help or ideas are very welcome!....
Thanks.

Try turning noise suppression off during a call
thanks, will try this...
As above, if you turn noise reduction off the echo will vanish.
However, many people have this issue and it looks like a faulty component on the PCB.
I'd suggest, if this is a new phone and within 14days, send it back for a replacement, if not send it back for repair.. I also had this issue but sent it back for a replacement, the replacement does not have this issue..
At the moment I still hope for another solution than giving my phone away for probably several weeks.
First I discovered that my microphone at the bottom was also nearly blocked by the white grommet.. I could moved it a little with a safety pin.
Than I will try the constant noise suppression method with the modded phone apk.
If that all will not help I will send it back for repair...
But thanks for that suggestion- I didn't even noticed that option before.
Do the cases cover the top mic? That caused a problem on my brother's phone.
Used a hot screwdriver to melt a nice neat hole in the silicone case above the top mic hole.
No, case is fine- both cases had holes for the mic....
Hi, I found the other thread about this, hopefully something helpful to you on there.

Use a holster or a protective case to carry your Dash. They are available on numerous websites. Also, you can buy protective screen covers. They have them in the accessories section on the T-Mobile website and many others as well.
sorry, i didn't mean the actual screen cracked. i meant it looks like ink exploded in the back ground. the actual screen is fine. it's behind it that's the problem.
Okay... so what's your question... or issue then ?
the screen appears to be cracked behind the actual 'glass'. so it looks like ink bleeding across the screen ( i saw someone else posted about this). i can't figure out exactly how/why this happens & t-mobile was of no help. i was just wondering if other people have experienced this. i found some related messages on another forum but no one had a solution to stop this, other than use a case. which i do.
I has a similar problem once.. Tipsy fiancy decided to grab my phone, knocked it into the leg of a table.. Cracked the crap outa the screen.. I ended up calling tmobile and saying "my screen doesn't work any more.." They kindly replaced my phone with no hastles..
if something like that happened, i could understand. the damn thing was in my pocket for about 1 minute!
Sorry dude - its broken.
The LCD has a couple of layers. One of back layers are broken.
This is one solution:

hmm..apparently i didn't explain myself enough. t-mobile i sending me a new phone for free. i just want to prevent this from happening in the future. i guess i'll just step up the case i already have. i'm looking at this one:
http://www.boxwave.com/products/armorcase/armor-case-t-mobile-dash_2355.htm
I think this case is better:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Fr-T-Mobile-DAS...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Coz its simple, good looking and lite.
that's pretty much what i have now & my phone's broke twice now
i think i need something that protects the screen too. or HTC should fix this problem that numerous others have complained about.

I have that exact case - its pretty good! I've been using it for 8 months now and its been fine. I don't think it really helps the screen all that much, but I have a screen protector on too. The only problem is that the phone is not so grippy with the case on. Overall I'm happy and it didnt cost much. Actually I use another case
Actually I have this too:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330152841341&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle%3D%2B330152841341%26category0%3D%26fvi%3D1
Its for the Cavalier but fits (with the other case on too) perfectly. This one I love!
I put my phone ot shirt pocket - no movement, no problem.
during the winter, i always put my phone in my jacket pocket, never my jeans. and the two times i've put it in my jeans this has happened
therefore
i will not putting the phone in my jeans!
guess i'll just have to be even more careful than i already am. i ordered a nice case with a screen protector & shock resistant.
thanks for the help!
Yeah, that's gonna snap the first time he sits down, also! lol
Stick with a nice leather case. I'd recommend the nice, Palm branded, horizontal case they make for their Treo's.
Hello
I ordered 2 tpu gel cases from ebay and now i have aserious echo problem, the other side can here himself speaking.
If i could post links out side of this site (i'm anew user here), you could see the cases that i taking about.
Do you know this problem?
Could you suggest me how to resolve it? maybe to cut more space for the mic or something like that...
thnks
Anyone?
Anyone?
Do i the only one who have this problem?
when i remove the case, the echo gone.
but i need the case..
I have a TPU-case but not such problem. Mayne yuo could make the holes bigger...
There's a small hole on the top near the earphone jack for the noise-cancelling mic; maybe the TPU case is covering it. You could try peeling back the edge of the TPU case near the jack so as to expose the mic.
If that makes a difference, you could punch a small hole in the case to accommodate the noise-cancelling mic. You could use a small plastic or metal tube -- maybe the end of a ballpoint pen's ink reservoir -- as a punch.
Echo problem as well here
Hello, I have the same problem with my SGSII. Just got it yesterday. But here I have the problem with or without the TPU case. My TPU case has a small hole near the headphones jack.
Any ideas? And is your problem solved?
EDIT: Tried also speakerphone, then it is all normal. Speakerphone uses the mic on top near the headphone jack, I just found out. It looks like a faulty mic to me (or covered with something).
EDIT 2: Fixed, although people say that with my previous phone the quality was better. Reset to factory defaults did the trick for me. It seems that the firmware update the other day (used Kies) had messed something up, that is my guess.
New device
Well, I kept holding the problem. Yesterday in the morning all was fine, in the noon people kept telling they hear me with bad quality and an echo. I went back to the store, explained the situation, they gave me a new device. I can clearly see the difference in the microphone hole .. the first phone it was closed, here it is more open. Problem should be solved now, I hope. I can say that I tested the quality myself and I can hear the difference. The sound of voice is more clear and louder.
Same problem recently started with mine. Gel case and upgrade with KE7 around the same time. Now everyone that calls complains of echo. Case off to test that when i get home from work. Hopefully update tonight.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Removed cover and echo gone. So back to my mofi pouch for now.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I have the same problem with my galaxy s ii
I have the same problem, with tpu case.
Hello,
I have the same problem with case, when I remove it everything become normal.
How did you solve the problem? Please share your experiences.
I have exactly the same problem. I was first using one of the TPU cases with a small hole on the top. As people on the other side was heavily complaining of echo I replaced it with one which is completely open on the top and on the bottom like this. It is actually a very nice case, but I realized that the problem is less evident but it is still there...!
Even if it not obstructing at all any of the microphone/speaker holes, if I raise the call volume I tested without any doubt that a (low but present) echo can be heard on the other side. The echo completely disappear if I remove the case
Actually what really makes me wonder is how this can happen, and I will really appreciate any suggestion...
Hello there!
I bought my xperia m 10 days ago, and i am pleased so far, except for one thing..
I noticed yesterday that the removable cover has started creaking, especially on the side with no buttons where the usb port is.
Has anyone else noticed that with their device? Is this something that inevitably happens after a while, or should i try to get it replaced because of a defect?
Yes, it started happening a few days after I bought or... If it happens to others too, I'll assume it's inevitable
This message was brought to you from my Sony Xperia M C1905 using Tapatalk.
Hmm I see..
Well I thought I'd ask because if it is something that is going to happen anyway, i will not bother taking it to the store.
They will have to send the phone to the service center and all that fuss just to replace the back cover, so it is not worth it.
If someone else can also confirm that this is the case with their phone I will be assured.
My phone also makes noises when pushed, most at top right and bottom left corners.
Well I take it there is nothing I can do about it then, so no point in returning it, I will have to live with it...
It is a shame though, because other than that the phone is outstanding in terms of value, I see no reason to spend any more that what I spent on this. It hits the sweet spot for me in the price/performance scale.
Has anyone found any solution to this problem?
I have tried putting little pieces of paper at the hotspots (bottom left and below the usb port in my case) but I had little success...
I am also curious to hear reports from others, maybe a silicon case can lessen the issue...

I have silicone case, it is the same. I am thinking about using thin layer of hotglue. It can be peeled of easily.
After some experimenting I found that putting a small piece of paper (3mm tall and about 3cm long) between the phone and the cover eliminated the major creaks that where in the lower-middle left side of my phone. I just folded a piece of printer paper in two and cut it to the above dimensions. If you try it make sure to put it in a way that does not block the small plastic clips that clip on the phone.
I know some of you have the issue of the lifting speaker grilles. I just want to let anyone who has this same problem know that they are rather simple to replace. If anyone needs the parts they can be found here:
http://www.etradesupply.com/htc/android-models/htc-one-m8-replacement-parts.html
Shipping was expensive, but it arrived to New York from China in about four days which was impressive. Build quality of the replacement parts is excellent. I cannot tell the difference from the original. My old one was bubbling in places and scratched. After some heating using a hair dryer and a little peeling, the old one came right off and i put the new one on. It already had adhesive on the part. I just hope this sticks and doesnt bubble.
This is not a question. Please in the future use the general thread.
Thank you; I will bookmark this link. Good to know where to buy parts like these. Some can be found on Ebay, others are rare.
Pointless thread without pics.
Not at all pointless, I've damaged my speaker surround (the black outline) removing the grill the other day (Shawarma fat went over my phone) anyway I've sorted it and now the black surround looks funky.
As it goes I want a silver version of the M8, so I'll be ordering the silver body and grills, not at all a pointless thread.

Hi everyone,
I am seriously considering buying the Moto Z2 Force as a replacement of my old Moto X 2014 (I still love it but my screen got a bit shattered one year ago:crying.
The only thing that is holding me back is that screen peeling problem I heard of. So, after reading some threads I would like to see how spread the problem is by proposing you this survey.
In case you had the issue, it would be very useful for me to know how you solved (got a replacement, removed the shutterproof screen protector, ...?)
Thanks a lot!
Here I am, replying to my own survey!
Unfortunately, not as I would like to...
I bought it and on day 2 I noticed this issue https://youtu.be/KfEjQWtvckQ which is how everything starts I suppose...?? So, I think this will be a "In the first month case".
Now I have to think of what to do:
Keep it and wait for it... (what then?!)
Send it back to seller asking for a refund => Buy another model, other brand (It would be really sad though)
Send it back to seller asking for a change with another one (what if the new one will have the same issue?)
Removing somehow the screen protector and the glue (any tutorials? Will it void the warranty?)
Any suggestion is much appreciated
Thanks a lot
I knot sure what that video was suppose to show. But to me it showed nothing of importance.. I have had my z2 Force for about 2 months with no issues.. Use a screen protector or a case with one, and you should have zero issues.

The video is supposed to show a problem with the shattershield screen where the outer screen protector lense is detached from the inner layer.
Some people on Lenovo forums reported screen peeling issue after experiencing something like the video shows.
On the same forum, some other people claim they had a screen protector on when the peeling started.
Anyway, I contacted Motorola Support and they:
Confirmed that if you remove the outer layer, the warranty is permanently voided for the whole phone... Not good
Suggested me to refer to the seller for a substitution since I am in the first two weeks after buying the phone
Still deciding what to do...
I tried the tempered glass screen protector I ordered.
It doesn't adhere correctly on the top of the screen but especially on the bottom, near the fingerprint scanner.
So, the screen is not perfectly flat.

I purchased a Otter Box Defender, and that might be why I have no issues.. On my G5 Plus I had a Otter Box commuter and a screen protector and they worked well as well.. If your nervous about that pone, best bet might be to replace with a different model.. I sure as hell would. Good luck.

Have the same issue and can hear that. But it seems to be normal. I can push in the screen a little bit. I think it's not the original foil of the top, which is pelling. I think it's hearable because it's plastic and elastic. I can see (by screen on) that's not the foil while I'm pressing the screen in. It's more the complete screen. Would it be the foil, I wouldn't see what I see by pushing in the screen. Plastic is easly elastic. That's all.
Here is an update.
Yesterday I received the other plastic screen protector I ordered.
It fits perfectly, since it's not as rigid as glass.
Since many of you have the same "clicking" noise while pressing the screen, I think I will try to use it in the next days to see how it goes. I have some weeks to think about keeping it or sending it back to the seller.
Hope everything will be ok, I'll keep you updated

It's not the foil, right? That's the plastic which is"clicking". I'm short-sighted and I'm pretty sure that I can see that's just elastic at the bottom. Looks so that the foil is ok and 100% save on the screen. But it's nice to have a elastic screen  No scratches after month. So, don't need a screen protector. The quality seems good. It's like wings of a airplane. Elastic, too And there is all ok, too. Normally

I am not sure it's the foil or not... However, I don't think is the screen which is moving, that's probably more a refraction effect. We should ask to those that removed the protection layer, if they where experiencing this and after the removal it stopped.
Foil or not, if the "clicking" sound is so common even in devices without peeling issues, I will give it a try.
I just need to use it, only time will say if it was a good idea to keep it :fingers-crossed:

Screen is moving down at the bottom, for me it's 100% so. And if I do it carefully, I can see it without hearing it. But yes, would be nice if anyone can test it without the foil. But, I can trust what I see, all real. So, it's the plastic. Hope anyone else can confirm this.
Another problem, what I have seen. I have burn in at the bottom. The navigation buttons keeps/burn in. Now I have set up the moto fingerprint navigation and it should gone next time. And that's really good. Works very well. And the space of the screen is now bigger, nice effect.
But, good to know with the burn in. This smartphones are made for a short time, maybe 2 years. On my computer monitor I have never seen burn ins like that. So, it's a market/business. Screen not made for working over years
And what really is very very good is the battery. Have last time good 8.5-9h sot. So, that's better than many people think.
But back to the screen. That's the topic here. Maybe we have to bring it to the repair center after 1.5 years. Maybe because burn ins, peeling and so on. We will see
If you guys do the warranty replacement through Motorola and not your carrier they will send you a new moto z2 force with a 2nd gen screen if you ask em about it. They have a fix for it lol I just got mine back and it's totally different

What am I supposed to be hearing on my device lol? And idk I just personally call it a 2nd gen screen cause it's easier to explain it like that to the people that I live around in my area ??there not to bright lol. I do know it's not the original shatter screen stuff that was peeling. it honestly was pretty hard for me to understand what my moto agent was saying to me when he explained it so I only caught bits and pieces. My model number is still xt1789-04 TMobile variant. I don't have a clicker also
