Try flashing back to stock. She can live without root until you learn a little more.

One click root is to root the device. It doesn't reverse changes.
Just odin back to stock.
I am curious as to what kernel you flashed. also your root method

I have recently noticed when I went to flash CWM that GS3 is not listed any longer..... I was able to still successfully flash a ROM, but when doing so I did notice that my computer recognized my phone as a Nexus.
Is this a common thing, or is there a way to correct what was done?
Thank you in advance.
PS- Even this app is saying Nexus below, and which I'm using my S3. I don't own a Nexus...

Have u changed your build.prop ? Tried to get Google Wallet set up?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
I did set up Google wallet. Does that make it look like a Nexus so that it will work?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Yes. That's the only way u can set up GW. What u have to do is go to Root Explorer and delete ur build. prop folder and rename ur build.prop.bak folder to say build.prop which is ur SGS one.
Reboot and u should be fine and ur GW should work if u did everything correctly.

You need to update cwm manually then it'll say s3 for future updates

UMTS on Frosty JB v11.2.1 rom

Did a search and didn't notice anyone else with this problem. Ever since I flashed Frosty I noticed that im stuck UMTS 3 and never switch to HSPAP. Wondering if there was something I missed.
And yes I did a clean flash.
Anyone else have this issue and is there a fix?

Not sure this helps but I seem to be also stuck. I am using frosty with stock kernel and canadian variant baseband. I don't know enough about these things to even know what the difference is but its something I will investigate next couple of days to see if it does switch.
You have your network mode set to auto ?

Try going into the settings themselves and actually manually setting it to HSPAP.

Dunno which settings you have, but mine only has the option to change between gsm and wcdma. And on gsm I would only get 1g/gprs...

Could it be because I went from stock ICS to a stock, but rooted JB update and then straight to Frosty? My basebamd still says UVLJ4; instead of UVLJA, so I might have missed something?

No. I flashed a rom before but returned to my stock rom via twrp. I don't want to mess with my kernel since I plan on unrooting in the near future so I can get ota updates.

So my headline says it all! I need help my phone has done this for the past couple of days and I need help. So my phone is telling me I'm getting 5/6 bars of 3g and 4g in my house, but when I actually get into an app that requires data then the apps won't work and are saying "no data/Internet connection please try again when you have a data/internet connection" the only app that will work is Pandora Internet Radio. Update you're prl/profile....Prl first..then profile...phone will reboot. Just a thought.
Also..I'm not sure how you rooted, but if you have a custom recovery..wipe cache and dalvik cache..This step isn't a must, just never a bad idea.
