Since the thread got closed for who knows what, let's build a list of known issues, fixes and whatever else...
For one, my brightness didn't work, so I flashed Kernel #15 which fixed that issue. Now my camera only shows a white screen.
BTW, I looked for a similar thread, but didn't find one. I tend to miss things sometimes though.

I'm pretty sure the thread got closed, because wdfowty requested it be closed. Based on a comment he made in the thread, I presume he requested the thread be closed because of the ridiculous, juvenile, and inappropriate tags that people were leaving. So as usual, the thread was closed due to people acting like 3 year old kids.
Anyways, on your topic, I have fortunately not encountered any of the bugs that other people have mentioned in the thread. Everything I've been able to test so far is working perfectly. The only thing that I wish, is that HTC released the leak with Sense 2.1. I want a 2.1 sense rom with working 4g!!!
Right, people have been acting so ridiculously here lately.
Back on topic, camera with kernel 15 seems to be my only issue. Anybody got a link to just the kernel on the new leak? I would rather have my camera rather than brightness adjustable. Unfortunately.

When I turn on the camera/camcorder to take a pic/record, the screen appears all white. However, if you take a picture, it comes out but looks a little fuzzy. If I try to record a video in mpeg4, it will record but force close when it tries to save it. If I try to record a video using H.264, it force closes immediately. I tried clearing the data of the camera app and that did not help.
Weird.
I'm downloading Virus's version which has the camera fixed, but it may be just for pics. I think video still may be borked, but I cannot confirm that yet.
Edit: Forgot to add that I am running Netarchy's 4.3.4 kernel with the leaked 2.3 update.
Yea, the issue I had was brightness lock, fixed with kernel 15, which left me with the white screen camera.

i got my to work with everyting, but with the stock kernel.
I have a hardware 002 which I don't think is an Epson screen. I can not change the brightness on the leaked ROM. When I try to flash HTC Kernel 15 the phone won't boot it gets past the HTC EVO white screen but then hangs up right before the Boot Animation. You can tell the screen is on but nothing ever happens...

Do you mean the stock kernel that came with the leaked update, or the previousw stock kernel #15 like Rydah is using? I may just re-flash it with the stock kernel for now.
Or, just nandroid back to Myn's rom until all the wrinkles get ironed out. I don't see so much of an improvement so as to keep a buggy rom when it was working perfectly before.

Thanks

You cannot. The framework is different from an AOSP Rom vs a Sense Rom. Many people hate it because that vanilla camera In CM7 is ugly lol
Sent from my Rinky Dinky DInc2
I was afraid it was a sense based camera. I guess the only other option is dealing with MIUI or this ****ty CM7 camera. It's fine except I'm one that hates random flashes of different colors come across my screen so when the green flashes, it bugs the living hell out of me lol.

MIUI camera isn't too bad and there's a flashable version of it floating around here somewhere (compatible with CM7). My question would be around photo quality. Would a picture taken with a stock phone look the same as a photo taken with the MIUI camera (in 8mp mode) if printed out? It seems the sense camera is optimized for our resolution, but is overall picture quality any worse with MIUI? or does it have to do with the hardware?

It's an APK file so that means it is either installable or if that's not the case, you place it in /system/app and set the permission correctly
Permissions: can be set with root explorer
Owner - read, write, execute
Group - read
Others - read
The APK one should have working FFC capabilities. I've tried it out before starting this thread and it works great and looks very similar to the stock camera, except for the fact that when you take a picture, the screen flashes green which I can't stand. It's annoying but it does take pictures of the same quality as the AOSP camera. The other issue with the camera is that when the camera shows whatever it does, it is stretched, yet when you take the picture, it fixes itself and takes a normal picture. Quirky, but still works.

This is the Miui camera I use with CM 7.
Since I couldn't really see any need of wanting to use the stock camera, I renamed the apk to "camera" and replaced the stock camera app in the system folder, changed the permissions/ownership and good to go. (I did make a .bak of the stock CM 7 for a just in case moment)
I like the Miui camera app. I didn't have FFC with it though. I do though now using the latest Miui Rom though...

I assume your referring to camera's? If so, I prefer the Miui camera over the CM 7 camera.
As far as rom preference, I like both, but currently I'm using Miui.
When taking photos using the Miui camera on the Miui rom, the only thing that flashes green is just the viewfinder box. The actual screen just goes black.
I'd have to flash back to CM 7 to see if the camera flashes the screen green or not. I don't remember now if it did or didn't. I don't think it did, but I don't want to say that it didn't without checking...
I flashed MIUI earlier and it seemed nice, a little different than what I'm used to in CM7, but what I did notice that I absolutely dislike is that 1) I tried to restore back to CM7 and when going through the ROM manager, it said that my phone was essentially not rooted anymore (more specifically that superuser permissions wasn't giving ROM manager the permissions and I went into SU and checked and it was installed, updated, and was supposed to be giving permissions where it needed to be), and 2) Whenever you drag an icon off the screen to remove the icon, it only wants to uninstall the app. Other than that, it seems like a decent ROM.
Yup, the last couple of updates to Miui has had to have the permissions set on SU. Don't know what happened that it has to be that way. It didn't used to be that way.
I also don't care to much for the Miui Launcher, and it's unremovable apps (you can make folders though, and place the apps in there, but still not quite what I like). To Iphone for me... I use the Adw ex launcher (same that I use on CM 7)
Really, my version of Cm 7 and Miui are almost twins... Basically the only diff is in the menus and a few cosmetics.
CM 7 on the left, Miui on the right...
Holy ****! Finally someone else that has this same problem!

I know it worked great on GB, but there are so many other reasons why SRF 1.2 is better then any GB build. At least right now, in GB's current condition.

Have you tried doing the horizontal calibration with the screen upside down? That used to fix my rotation lags on froyo. Something about using it with the screen facing up always made it lag instead of fixing it.. If that don't work u might have to try using terminal emulator and see if that helps.

See Gingerbread Horizontal Calibration and these posts: my calibration question and jbadboy2007's response and jt1134's rebuttal.
The short story is that there is no known calibration method for GB, whether on a stock-based ROM or AOSP, such as CM7.
* Note: jt1134 is one of the CM7 devs, therefore I feel pretty confident he knows what he's talking about. I'm pretty sure jbadboy2007 is experienced as well.

I don't know if you're addressing the OP or me (probably OP), but I'll go ahead and tell ya I had rotation lag with a couple of different Froyo ROM flashes.
using the /system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yamaha I was always able to minimize the lag, though if I had a number of different home screens filled with apps it would still lag a bit more than a virgin ROM flash (not unexpected).
The "new thing" is that now there is no known fix for rotation lag*, which sucks.
* At least with CM7. The sensorcalibutil_yamaha fix may still work with stock-based ROMs in GB, I've just never tried any GB except for CM7.

From the original thread:
* For other GB ROMs the fix should be basically the same, though I would recommend using the framework.jar from that specific ROM. (Maybe other, more experienced devs would like to shed some light on this topic? Would this framework.jar or flashable .zip be safe to try with other GB ROMs?)
So it may be usable...

Hello all,
I recently flashed liquid smooth rom android 4.2.2 on my galaxy s3 i747. It may be a problem with the AOSP camera or your kernel. Lowering the picture's resolution is a temporary fix. If not, try switching between front and back cameras, exit the camera, and reopen camera. Hope i helped!
