Hi all, Just want to verify that my thinking is straight on this. If after rooting and before flashing a custom Rom, I make a Nandroid Backup; I can revert back to my stock rom at ant time by reverting to that stored backup? If my thinking is wrong..how would i return to my stock rom after flashing a custom rom?

That is correct. Backup and at any time boot into CWM and restore your backup.

Hi Guys,
Currently, I'm running a STOCK rooted FROYO ROM.
This one to be exact:
HTC OTA Froyo 2.2, *FINAL*, build 3.36.651.6 (Rooted) Odexed
I would love to try out some of these other great ROMs, but hate going through all of the setup after each flash.
So the question is, what is the easiest way to get all my settings and apps back after flashing a new ROM? Can I make a nandroid backup and a Titanium backup (I have the paid version) then flash a new ROM, say, the FRESH one, and then do a nandroid restore and a Titanium restore and be back with all my settings/apps? Or should I not do a nandroid restore after putting the new ROM on because it's a backup of a different ROM?
Thanks for reading and any insight you might can give me.
Hi there, I currently have a desire HD that is rooted, s-off and clockwork mod installed. However before I install a (CM6) I was wondering if I do a nandroid backup of my current stock rom. If i then install CM6 then say I want to go back to the stock rom do I simply launch rom manager again then restore from back up? Is that it?
Thank you very much for your time!
Yes, as simple as that.
It just sound..well all to easy Haha! So simply back up using titanium then nandroid install Rom from sd then say I make a back up of this non-stock Rom and then boot into recovery again and restore using backup of original Rom everything will be back to normal? (would there be any chance I could restore again using back up of the Rom I downloaded and it'll be back in that version again?) Thanks!

I made a nandroid backup in clockwork of the stock rom. Since then I went to a custom rom. I was wondering if I could restore the backup while on a custom rom or if I have to go back to stock and then restore it.
2. How would I get back to stock if I needed to?
Thanks

You can boot into cwm from your custom rom and use it to restore the nandroid backup which will take you back into the rom as it was when you backed it up.
I suggest you make a nandroid of your current setup before hand - one can never have too many backups!
I am currently using cm10 with hellboy kernel and have a cvm backup of stock rom. I was wondering if *touchwood* something were to happen to the custom rom will a simple recovery be enough to get back to sense? or is there some kernel which will have to be flashed first? or is ruu the only way of going back to sense?
if u have a nandroid backup of stock ROM u can restore it and flash the boot.img found inside that particular backup.if u do not have a stock backup u will have to apply ruu or u can even restore nandroid backups of stock ROM found on XDA.

Hey guys, just a quick question about restoring from a nandroid backup. Let's assuming I'm using custom rom A and made a nandroid backup of it. Then later on, I change to custom rom B and made another nandroid backup of that.
Well, assuming the boot.img from both custom rom A and B are different, then say if I were to restore back to custom rom A, I would have to re-flash the boot.img for that rom correct? OR, will restoring custom rom A from the nandroid backup also flash the boot.img for me automatically?
I came from other phones where flashing a new rom or from a nandroid backup is simply a one-step process. HTC One X is the first phone I've used where I have to deal with flashing the boot.img as an additional step as well, so just wanna confirm if this is the case for a nandroid restore as well.

You have to flash the boot.img for the ROM you're restoring through fastboot. Recovery cannot flash boot.img for you since you need S-OFF, which impossible to achieve (let's not go there).
