Does anyone know if the WFS can support a 32gb micro sd. I am using a 16gb but filled it up. Just wan't to know if it can support it. I don't want to buy one and have it not work.
Yes, it does support microSD up to 32GB.

Nope... I have got a friend who owns a WFS too and uses a 64 GB SD card
Even a HTC Wildfire A3333 Buzz could handle that.

Will a 2gb ext4 partition do? I really don't know the use of swap
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using xda premium
I recommend you go for a Samsung class 6 or 10 as those have proven to work even with the demanding DATA2SD.
I partition it this way (approximate sizes):
1st partition: FAT32 primary, 6.2GB (Set as active)
2nd partition: Ext4 primary, 1GB
3rd partition: Linux Swap primary, 512MB
Good luck!

Yes it will but it is the maximum recommended size for an ext4 partition. Swap is extra memory for the phone when many apps are running or you have memory hungry apps. Maybe you can do a 256MB swap partition because you decided to go for an 8GB card.
I suggest you try DATA2SD. It will make your phone faster.
I tried it with a 8GB class 4 card and it did not work. Now I have a 16GB class 6 and it works like a charm.

Hi SDOTN
The Wildfire S supports Micro-SD and Micro-SDHC cards up to 32GB.
I'm not a fanboy but if you can get a Samsung or a Transcend card you will be well served.
I tried DATA2SD with the following three cards that DIDN'T work:
1. The stock 2GB card that came with the phone
2. Sandisk 4GB Class 4 card
3. Kingston 8GB Class 4 card
Only when I got the Samsung "Essentials" 16GB Class 6 card in my phone I saw the m1ndh4x8r ROM working properly.
With the 8GB Kingston Class 4 I could use Link2SD, however it was too slow opening applications.
Just bought an 8GB SanDisk Class 4 SDHC. [No one had class 6 or 10 unfortunately).
I'm trying the partition now.
If it doesn't work don't say I didn't warn you. Some class 4 cards can be crap.
From my own experience the Link2SD and DATA2SD apps need fast cards and that seems pretty obvious. You will install applications and run them from the memory card...
I really wish you a great deal of luck! You will need it.
yes i also got myself a a Transcend CLass 4 16gb SDHC, Difficult to get a class 6 here (in India-Mumbai)
help
hy guys,
i have created a ext 4 partition inside my sdcard..... i noticed in widows i can format only part fat32 en effect i can see only this part.
how can i format totally sdcard to return back on my full space?
can i erase ext partition in windows or with my phone my sdcard?
I'm using 8GB microSD card class 2 with DATA2SD, and it's working.
Yea, it knows to lag sometimes.
Anyway, I think I'll buy 8GB class 6 card soon I get some money.
It works!
8GB SanDisk Class 4 SDHC with:
Link2SD
5GB FAT32
2GB EXT4 Partition
512MB Linux Swap
i ve transcend 8gb class 4. how should i do partition on it ? please suggest me.!

Memory for digital cameras is usually SD, while phones use MicroSD.
I wouldn't waste money on it unless I knew for sure. G2/DZ support up to 32gb. Maybe, maybe not. Please do tell if it works

Bumping this back up - has anyone tried 64gb MicroSD yet?
If you don't mind me asking, dafuq r u gonna do with 64 gb of storage?
I have 8gb and I don't even use it all lol.
Mostly music tbh, but also pictures, videos, apps, a couple of full backups. You tend to fill up the space when you have it. I have had to delete files to keep under the 32gb I have at present, so I would use 64gb if available.
I might buy one anyway to use in my next phone if not this one...
Does anyone know if 64gb micro sd cards are compatible with the one v?

Tried a SanDisk 64GB Micro SDXC card in my gf's One V today.
Had to format it on the phone, but after that seems to work just fine.
I thought the android OS only supported up to 32GB Micro SDHC, I'm not sure if it supports SDXC, but if it does, that would be the sweetest thing ever, more FLAC on this baby makes for a happy me
Was hoping it would. Looks promising. Thanks for your feedback

Theres no phones that officially suport the 64gb cards but lots of phones that actually seem to work ok with them. Including the sensation, the gs2 and galaxy note to name a few. I would have thought that as long as its been formatted it should work ok.

Hey, does it matter if the MicroSD (8GB) is Class 4 or 10? I don't understand the difference but i better ask before i buy one.

The class tells you what minimum write speed the manufacturer guarantees.
Most cards go a good deal above the value because the manufacturers play it safe.

I also wanted to confirm that my HTC One V (from Virgin Mobile) sees 59.5GB of a SanDisk Mobile Ultra microSDXC Class 6 Flash 64GB Memory Card. One of the reasons i switched to Android from the iPhone was the ability to store all of my music collection on my phone and this should be almost enough space.

They again told me that you can only use class 10 on phone with processor clock more than 700MHz.
Is it right?

I presume they mean that you wouldn't get the full speed of a class 10 card.
A wildfire S at stock clocks seems to tap out at about 8MBps write, as opposed to the 10MBps a class 10 card is supposed to function at.
The SD card standard requires that a higher rated card must function in a lower-rated interface, just at the lower speed.
Simply our phone cant read and write class 10 at their full speed...so you can use it but for value for money you should go for class 6 16gb..i have it.

The CPU appears to be the bottleneck. It'll push class 10+ speeds if you overclock significantly. This guy clocked at 806MHz is pushing 11.2MBps writes.

If you are buying a new SD card only for being able to use data2sd, then may i suggest using app2sd first and then buy if you are not satisfied with the performance. And if it is for something else, then go for class 10. and overclock your phone!

Hi, I got interesting story here. I got 32GB V-Gen (Local in Indonesia). I bought that card for about 2 months ago and didnt have this behavior strange mount-unmounting things. Umh...then I started got this behavior a few weeks ago. Tried formating with no luck. Then, I tried something...I use app named alogcat. Whenever I used alogcat, there is no strange behavior on my MicroSD. I dont know the correlation between this logcat and behavior. I hope that you guys with great skill could figure it out what happen to the system or the card. Happy New Year
