How to remove original lock screen after I flashed Calkulins? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hey guys - I had the default locked screen setup on my phone before doing any type of modifications. I then installed Calkulin's 1.5a. When the phone gets locked, it shows the same 9 circle drag to unlock design. It doesn't matter what I draw it'll become unlocked. How can I delete this since the unlock option is now missing from settings?

It should be, Settings -> Location and security -> Screen unlock settings -> Set up screen unlock. Then click none or other desired settings. If that's not there for you, you need to redownload the rom and reflash.

Require password on boot

Did they remove this feature from the 6P? Not seeing it anywhere in settings.

Interesting. If I power cycle my phone it asks me for a password. After I enter that it will allow me to use fingerprint. I did a transfer from a Galaxy S6 that required a password after reboot. I wonder that setting carried over.
I've set my phone up as a new device with a PIN and fingerprint set up. When I reboot the device I am asked for a password when it switches back on.
I beloved Nougat is using direct boot where it boots into the OS but until you enter your login info the device status fully encrypted. After you boot the Pixel or Pixel XL and log into the device after reboot you notice it takes a few moments for everything to show up, that's because it's decrypting the device.

settings > security > screen lock
select either PIN, or password to bring up the option to enable it on boot.

You have a pattern protection on your device, and you set the pattern you have selected to ask you for pattern when you start your phone up, reboot to system and remove pattern lock and then you should be fine...
Next time when you set an pattern select no thanks option as shown in the screenshot.
Ditto
If there's a pattern, it usually means you've got a pattern lock. Use the same pattern and it'll be locked.
Just use the same pattern that you use if you startup you're Android device. When you have no pattern, go to settings > locksreen > then remove pattern if not done already > set new pattern > there will popup a messege asking is you want to use a start-up password (or something like that) > No thanks. Should work now.
It is a good idea to have some security on the recovery but the interface is dodgy. It normally takes 2-3 tries because the screen can't seem to keep the touch and drag registered nicely.
See if this helps. This will remove whatever password you have set on your device.

Disable On Boot Password

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to the OnePlus world.
So my question is: how can I disable the password that is required before android is launched on my OnePlus 3 ?
I've searched accross xda but I found nothing, sorry if this has already been answered.
In the beginning I found it very useful, but once I removed Google Keyboard, I was not able to enter that password.
I want to use a modded google keyboard (with number row), and on the xda thread, the dev ask to remove the defaut Google Keyboard.
Regards.
Go into Settings > Security & fingerprint > Screen lock and remove it (choose None).
Once the device is set to none, go back into Settings >Security & fingerprint > Screen lock and choose PIN. It will ask you here if you want secure boot (enter a PIN to start device) or not use it. Just choose the latter.
EDIT: If you have fingerprint set up, you will lose it during this process
Another option is to just switch between password, pin or pattern. You still get the option of not to set on boot, but this prevents the fingerprints to get deleted as they do when switching to swipe or none.
Thanks guys the problem is now solved, I've selected PIN with NONE as option for boot.
I can't do anything else because would like to remove the google keyboard.
To do so you will need to wipe your /data but its possible through twrp for excample. Simply after hard reset chose not to require password after boot
I'm confused as to why Google Keyboard is required for entering a password. Can't you just set your other keyboard to be the default?

Unlock effect "None" is gone.

How to switch off the unlock effect, without having the option "None"?
No reaction at all?
I guess there must be an option in a config file, right?! Help
Strange ****. After choosing pattern unlock, I didn't have to swipe again. Back to pin unlock and everything is fine now, though the option "none" is still gone.

SGH-i747 Archived Downloads 2021 Walkthrough

I picked up a decent used SGH-i747 to use as a spare house phone. It was bone stock UCUFNE4, and I went through the rooting process, flashing TWRP, some custom ROMs, and restoring my nand backups. Yes, on a nearly decade old phone! I forgot how much I missed this phone after it took the splash.
DO THIS FIRST : Network / Carrier Unlock SIM
I was finally running my old system but then tried a Red Pocket SIM card...I didn't think ATT locked their SIMs. I don't remember having to unlock my old d2att, but I've slept since then. You'll most likely have to be on the stock OS to network unlock the SIM. *You get 5 attempts to enter the unlock PIN code.
Have your device and IMEI handy.
Follow the directions on ATTs unlock site https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/
Insert a non-ATT SIM card and turn on the phone.
After fully booting, enter 8 digit PIN unlock code you recieved from ATT.
If unlock is "unsuccessful", you'll have to go through extra steps.Extra Steps
Insert a non-ATT SIM card and turn on the phone.
After fully booting, cancel / dismiss the unlock code screen.
Open the Dialer and enter *#197328640# to enter the hidden Service Menu. If entering the numbers in the dialer does not open the hidden Service Menu, you'll need to return to stock firmware.
In the hidden Service Menu, navaigate to: [1] UMTS > [1] Debugging screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] NETWORK LOCK > [1] Perso Sha256 INFO
If the value for Sha256 is "0" and off, this is the problem why entering the 8 digit PIN code was "unsuccessful". We need to turn it on.
Touch your left capacitive Menu key opening a navigation menu, and touch the "Back" option. (not the right capacitive Back key, that will exit the Service Menu)
Select "[2] Perso Sha256 ON" (I'm not sure if it's actually on yet, or touching the item "Perso Sha256 ON" in the resulting cascaded menu turns it on, so I touch it also)
Touch your left capacitive Menu key and select "End" to close the Service Menu.
Reboot phone and now entering the unlock code should work.
Return to stock firmware
Assuming you have TWRP recovery version >= 3.0.2-0
Download bootloader-modem_I747UCUFNE4_4.4.zip to a micro SD card. (I've tried other bootloader-modem packages that didn't work)
Download I747UCUFNE4_Stock_Rooted_Deodex.zip to micro SD.
Backup or transfer to external storage anything you want to keep on internal storage. (*you might be able to skip internal storage wipe)
Make sure micro SD is properly mounted as portable storage in the device, and boot into recovery.
Backup system/data/etc. *optional
Wipe partitions: Dalvik, System, Data, Cache, and *Internal Storage
Install bootloader-modem_I747UCUFNE4_4.4.zip
Install I747UCUFNE4_Stock_Rooted_Deodex.zip
Reboot to system.
Root and/or flash TWRP with ODIN

Here is my SGH-i747 download archive. I never delete my shared files off Google Drive, so they'll be here. Everything you should need to bring this device under heel.

Hey, just want to say Thanks for this.
I had a Galaxy S III kicking around and wanted to put in back in action - just like you for a house phone. Up until about 1 year ago I had GBs of ROMs for the phone - and then did the housecleaning "Who will ever need this old stuff anyway???" and deleted the whole works. I realized the error in my ways when I started looking for the files this AM
So, you've got me back on track with your "One stop shop"
Cheers
PS. By the way - which of the ROM's did you find smoothest & most responsive to run?

Seems like custom ROMs for this device were better than other droids I've had. I think Liquid Smooth was the best performer, but limited to KitKat apps.
