This mod will install full Arabic support on Galaxy Tabs running Overcome 3.1.0 [Kratos] (may work on earlier editions but no guarantees- try at your own risk!)
This is a CWM flashable zip and it includes a script to wipe dalvik cache after installation so all you need to do is install in CWM and reboot
We now have proper Arabic support with reading and the stock Gingerbread Arabic keyboard is also included for input support
After installing, make sure the input method is set to Samsung Keypad (default) and press the Settings key to the left of the Go key. In the next screen, tab Input Language and select Arabic then press the back key twice. You will now have an Arabic keyboard
Note: This has been tested on Overcome 3.0.0 [Kratos] but may work on others.
Please report if you get it working on other ROMs and I will add a note

No actually the input support (keyboard) is not.
The files which enable reading and correct character shaping were made by alterbridge86 using madmack's script.
The keyboard / input patch was made by me

Ah...
Well yes. This patch does change the framework. If you want stock Gingerbread then the path I would recommend is to flash the stock theme patch, reboot at least once and then flash the arabic patch. You can get both patches from teamovercome.net in the Downloads section. I tried that combination yesterday and it works fine

I would like to do something similar with full japanese support. The fonts in the european rom look ugly, and the japanese keyboards in the market are not really good...

To be honest it's just a matter of finding of finding, extracting, deodexing and zipaligning the keyboard from a compatible stock ROM that has the language you need. Once you are sure the files work, you can package them in a flashable zip to make it easy to apply. This will also patch the framework and other system files and that's why I stress the need for compatibility.

in past I tried to install several sg3 ported apps, beginning with svoice before someone modded to avoid editing build.prop. so i would try installing with root explorer in system with right permissions .. then edit build.prop to sg9300 .. make sure you save backups as .bak just in case.

Try without modifying build.prop. If you have to modify, when using root explorer, it'll create a .bak of the original just in case. Unfortunately, I can't tested after I themed my rom.

hello everybody.
would appreciate anybody's help here to get fm radio working in mokee rom. rom is cm7 based and I've tried all I can. if you know me then you'll know I'm not a dev but have limited knowledge of some work. my limits are based on winzipping and post rom modding via esfile etc etc (I know we frown on winzippers lol) however this rom is not a winzip rom and has been ported from the blade i think? it needed some issues fixing and I have nearly fixed all issues but fm radio has no sound, the app is not force closing or anything and you can set stations etc but just no sound. is there anyway of taking whatever is needed eg.files and/or whatever from a working cm7 rom and copying them into mokee via winzip method ? if so what are all the files etc etc that would be needed. I know its a long shot but maybe successful? I am not the porter of the rom,I just posted/modded and fixed a little stuff with permission to do so.
really grateful of any help advice.
regards slymobi.

thats the kind of stuff i was talking about but file names are different to what cm7 has so im kind of lost as to what is needed. eg cm7 on buzz has no servicefm.apk only fm.apk and bin/lib file names not matching.
heading in the right direction though.

Any other FM related libs?
cant seem to find any on quick glance. im on cm7 so if i find anything i can pull them and test later. gonna go hide for ten minutes lol and search through files.

does mokee make use of dsp? if so: do you have the following files in there?:
Code:
/system/soundfx/libcyanogen-dsp.so
/system/soundfx/libreverbwrapper.so
/system/soundfx/libvisualizer.so
No other idea atm
---EDIT---
there's also that file
Code:
/system/bin/radiooptions
but not sure if that has anything to do with fmradio
mokee has dsp,im on standard cm7 at the moment so cant check fully. i did see the radio option earlier i think...... just need to know all the files and paths that make fmradio on cm7 then compare in mokee. so far i found fm.apk lol.

if mokee has dsp those soundfx files should probably be necessary, too.
Don't know if an alternative would be interesting if it can't be done. "Spirit FM" for example - should work on the Willy with CM7 according to this thread (but I haven't read too much about it yet)

checked and mokee got them files,it looks like everything is working apart from there is no sound!!! all other sounds are working through headphones though so that rules out socket or headphone problem.
spirit fm is internet radio I believe. I don't know of any alternative but will welcome any non internet based ones.
I don't use radio so I'm not bothered but I want to fix this then I can update the rom and delete the issues as I've fixed the others now (well just waiting on dev permission to include alternative to 1 issue, which can be bypassed with another if not but not as pretty!!!)

SpiritFM isn't an internet stream radio.
It's a legit FM radio.

it alters the sound file in /system/media/UI/
believe it's an .ogg file, all the UI sounds for your device are found in there, you can modify/cut mp3's, convert them, then name them the same as the the one you are trying to replace and there you have it, a new UI sound for the same function.

^yeah, this.
Trust me, I tried everything to remove that crap on my old releases. I had a feelign it was in Sec_Contacts.
Why not make the change a flashable zip instead? If its just for UVDLJA, it'd be much more simple to release the modified Sec_Contacts, would it not?

Well I stand corrected... I guess that makes sense that the app itself would have its own sounds included within the apk... just like any other app!

Pretty sure its deodexed. Many of us wont be able to use this because we are using custom roms.
I know you can reodex, but im betting most wont bother with new releases every day.
If I may, id suggest making a deodexed flashable that the devs can use in their roms. If they apply any mods to the contacts app, and then someone flashes your mod, itll revert the other back to stock. If a dev mods yours instead, then the users get the best of both.
I would like to try yours, except two things, im always deodexed, and I never connect to the computer unless I have to use Odin. Almost everything else can be done either on device, or through wireless.
Nothing against what youve done though, so please dont take it as anything more than suggestion. It is always cool to show different ways of getting things done! I just think a lot more people could enjoy this if it were deodexed and recovery flashable.
Whatever you decide, good job on this! Ive been wanting to do the same ever since I got this thing, I just keep getting involved in too many other things!
Cant stand water drops when dialing! :what:

I'm a little confused to what this mod does or why its necessary. If I understand correctly it removes the water droplet sound from the dialer. I don't have that sound because I turned it off in settings. Can't you just turn the sound off in settings?
