Cameron Sino 2500mAh Extended Battery for Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc - Xperia Arc Accessories

Hi everyone,
I am currently using an extended battery from Cameron Sino, and below is my review.
Battery Capacity: 2500mAh
Battery & Battery Cover Build:
The battery is indeed thicker, twice the thickness of the original, and probably weighs twice as much as well. The battery size did not cause any problem with the phone's GPS. I can get a lock as quick as I can when using the standard battery. I did not have a problem with the other phone radios as well.
Some may think it makes the phone look and feel like a brick, but for me it really does not look and feel that bad. The battery cover is made of shiny, piano black plastic. It feels sturdy, has a very good feel and fits the phone really well, you will not hear a creak at all. The camera and led light window does collect a bit of dust, but can be cleaned quite easily. Its design does not affect the photo quality, unlike some extended battery covers where photos appear to have grey/blackish corners . The loudspeaker sounds a bit muffled due to the fact that the battery cover has become thicker and has somehow affected the loudspeaker sound though it’s nothing really major, you’d still hear the sound coming from it fine. It has a built-in kick stand, which is very useful when watching videos or movies. The kickstand however, feels a bit flimsy and would probably come off if you accidentally drop the phone. Even if it is kept closed, you will feel that it is a little loose and moves a bit when fiddled . If there’s a weak part of the battery cover design, it is the kickstand.
Battery Life:
The 2500mAh capacity proved to be very good. I am using a custom MIUI Rom. My typical usage involves three email accounts which refresh every hour, a weather widget that refreshes every 3 hours, about an hour of instant messaging , 15-20 text messages, about 30 minutes of calls (on loud speaker), 10-15 photo captures, 2-3 hours of news reading, 20-30 minutes of watching videos on youtube, 10-15 minutes of games, and 1.5-2 hours on facebook. It is always on wifi at work and at home. I normally leave the battery to charge overnight and unplug it at about 6:30AM, by the time I get home from work at about 5:00PM, I usually have between 80-85% of battery juice left. The standard battery would normally be at 35-40%. By the time I go to bed I still have about 50% juice left. I have tried not charging the battery at night and let the battery deplete with my typical usage, it lasted almost 2 days before the battery died. Overall, I am very satisfied and impressed with the performance of this battery, and I can honestly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an extended battery.

aw. i didn't find any in eBay.

which ebay site? sellers do not usually make a mention of the brand, just search for "sony ericsson xperia arc battery", or better yet ask the seller for the battery brand.

I have the same one I guess and I didn't saw an improvement. Well, just bought it for the school trip to Rome, adding extra bulk in everyday use is no option for me. So i don't really care, also was just 15€...

But this is not same.

Does the phone sit flat on its back? If so, it's exactly what I'm looking for

It's very big and not nice

Ahh man you just took the Sexy right out of her.
Your link didn't work proper here it is. 2600mAh battery
Not sure if it's needed or not getting 2 days out of heavy use (6hrs+ music 4hrsvideo but load of texting), but let us know how it goes.
For the price I ordered one too.
Thanks for the heads up

Let us know how it goes. 2600 mAh would be nice, but it will also kill X10's beauty.
Well I just received my 2600mAh Cameron Sino so here are my first impressions.
Battery fit is PERFECT, I'm actually surprised.
The cover is identical in colour and finish to the original. It's "almost" perfect. In the top left corner at the side (the one I received) doesn't lock in perfectly. You would have to look very close to see the gap but there is one.
The battery is twice as thick as the original but considering how thin the original is, it's not all that bad.
Over the next few days I'll exam the most important aspect of the new battery ... does it last a long time
I'll report back.

Yup, by the end of the week when I report on the battery I'll include some pics.
What I can say at the moment, on an overnight unplugged test, it did worse than the original battery but it is only the first charging. I'll cycle it twice this week.
Just a quick review on the first day of usage .... fantastic!
This 2600mAh is outstanding. I'm at 9 hours since unplugged and I've had the displayed on for over 4 hours. I also enabled background data this morning as well as setup Facebook and Twitter accounts. I have about an hour of phone calls to add in there as well. Spent a bunch of time organizing 7 home pages on ADW.Launcher.
Still at 67% and I haven't even cycled the battery once yet.
Really impressed.

Thanks for the Info! That is an awesome price eh? I went ahead and bought one too. Sure it might take away from the slim, sleek look of it, but after reading this I think it's worth it.

I'll have more to add on the weekend but after 2 full days of use I'm MORE than impressed with the Cameron Sino!!
Wait until you hear what I've put this new battery through
I will quickly add this: based on the 2600mAh battery performance I must conclude that the original SE battery that I have is either defective or a serious piece of crap.
Had a few moments so here you go.
My non scientific but fairly accurate comparison of the original SE 1500mAh battery compared to the Cameron Sino 2600mAh.
First of all, the fit is 100% perfect. The cover looks original but doesn’t lock perfectly in the top left side leaving a very very small gap. Yours may lock in better than mine if you get one.
With the original battery:
GPS off
WiFi off
Bluetooth off
3G ON
Background Data off
No social networks running (Twitter, Facebook etc.)
10 Emails
10 SMS
45 minutes talk time
15 minutes browser
15 minutes market
Screen set to about 20% brightness
Total screen on time about 2 hours
Unplugged at 4:30am and 10 hours later the battery was approx 20%
(This WAS a normal day over the past 3 weeks because I was stretching battery life)
With the new battery: (Did the same thing for the past 2 days)
+GPS ON
WiFi off
+Bluetooth ON
3G ON
+Background Data ON
+Twitter and Facebook both running
Same Emails, SMS and talk time
+Screen at 50%
+Playing online Poker for 2 hours
+Reading XDA Forums 30 minutes
+NewsRob 20 minutes
Market for 15 minutes
Total screen on time about 4.5 hours
At this point, 10 hours, I’ve already FAR exceeded what the original battery would have handled and this Cameron Sino battery was still at 62%.
Since I did want to cycle it I had to get it down lower so I did this:
On the car drive home I put the X10 on the passenger seat, turned on the WiFi, turned up the screen brightness to 100% and played YouTube videos in the High Quality mode (30 minute drive). Got home, put the X10 on the desk and continued playing HD YouTube for the next 90 minutes before the battery was finally down to 18%.
Now, I’m not going to log times and conditions and test these batteries over and over so you’ll have to take what you can from what I’ve posted above.
I’m my opinion, this 2600mAh battery, which should last 1.75 times as long as the original, is lasting 4 to 5 times longer given the load I’ve put on it.
If I were to have read and not posted the above info I would think it’s a fairy tale, it’s not. Maybe my original battery is simply defective. All I can say is that the new 2600mAh battery has made me actually “like” the X10. Before this battery I may as well just bought some crappy Moto RaZr because I couldn’t use the features of the X10 since the battery would have been dead in 3 hours.
I don’t sell Cameron Sino batteries and have nothing to do with Cameron Sino. I’m simply their newest and biggest fan.
I’ll try to post pics by this weekend.

Izzy no worries bout taking over we're in a forum to discuss and you've done a great job of it so far ... sorry I've been away but been playing with my buddies dell streak for the past week... now on to the battery... Izzy like u I've experienced the fact that the supplied battery cover doesn't fit, on the lower lecturing side near the camera it just doesn't snap in to the groove. The cover still stays on but since it doesn't fully snap into place dust and other undesirables find there way.into the phone... so I contacted the seller and.in turn he contacted cameron sino, hopefully they will send me a cover.
Now on to battery life: I've been getting 5.5 days with light use (just text, calls, market updatesz), almost 3 days with medium use of text internet calls and music, 1.5 days with heavy movie watching, text and calls... so all in all a great value for $20 if only they fetal me a.new cover
Ps I am using ultimate juice defender, no set cpu with 7 screens and a boat load of widgets

I was thinking about the Dell Streak before I decided on the X10, was I wrong
I'm not too concerned about the cover gap but that's only because I use a silicon case so it really doesn't matter that much. Would be nice if the case did lock in though. I was happy the battery fit so well. I have extended batteries for other WinMo devices that I just about had to insert using a hammer.
I also think the battery life is outstanding. I never really cared that much about getting more than one day but I really wanted to get at least one day With this battery I know I can do 2 days with fairly heavy use.
I also use Juice Defender, SetCPU and ADW.Launcher with 7 screens. Was doing that with the original and this battery.
For $23 it's a pretty hard deal to beat.
can you upload some pics with the new battery on X10 ? and also with the new back cover ?
I'll do some pics on the weekend.

Nice, i'm really interested too!!!
Thanks for all the great info, this might be my next battery!
Pics are sort of crappy. Used a 3.1 cam on another phone and then had to resize to post them. Should give you an idea though.
Original and the fatty
BTW, the normal use for me daily is pretty much this: WiFi off, Bluetooth on, GPS off, Background Data on, Gmail sync for contacts/email/Calender, Weather Widget, 4 email accounts .... the basics.
With the above, no phone calls today (Saturday), it's been unplugged 7 hours and has lost only 6%. I'm happy with it.
I used it heavy yesterday (Friday) and ended with 61% remaining after 12 hours.
(I'm on the 024 firmware)
EDIT -> Aside from the above usage from yesterday (Saturday) I've added about 1 hour of phone calls, now (Sunday) 27 hours since unplugged, all background running, battery at 71%

Mugen 3200mah Battery Review

I'm gonna start off short with this and add more as I get more use out of the phone.
First of all, I was hoping (though not optimistically) that I could fit this battery inside my phone case if I left off the battery door. This is definitely not going to happen. I've read that this battery and replacement door increases the phone from 11mm thick to 17mm. I've measured and verified this, but holding the phone in your hand it seems like about double the original thickness. Really this doesn't bother me except I'm going to have to modify a case to fit now.
Also the battery door that came with it is plastic. I was concerned this might affect reception since the OEM door is reported to be part of the antenna system, maybe for WiFi. but so far I have noticed no problem at all. I'm still concerned the tabs will break of of this door easily if dropped since they are plastic. I also am a little concerned these could break in my jeans pocket when I'm squatting down since extra thickness puts more pressure on the phone.
Initial impressions of battery life are fantastic. It had gotten to the point where my phone would die between 2-4pm after charging all night and using it pretty heavily during the day. If I tried to watch a movie around even 10am, the battery would die before the movie finished. This morning I watched a 2hr movie with the Mugen battery and still had over 80% battery left. Amazing. It's such a startling difference that I now wonder if my OEM batter was worn out more than I had thought.
A couple of final details. The buttons on the side of the phone are just slightly harder to find with the new battery door. This is not any issue after getting used to it but just an observation. The fit and finish of the battery door is very good. I did notice a slight difference in the paint color of the battery door compared to the back of the phone, but I used to work in the paint industry. I don't think most people would notice or care.
********UPDATE*************
I had cut some slits in my Amzer case to allow it to fit the extended battery. This actually worked pretty well and had a really nice feel in hand. However, it this face fits kind of loosely to begin with and has a lot of grip, making it hard to get in and out of pocked. This problem does not really get worse, but certainly isn't any better with the bigger battery. Unless you have pretty big pockets it's just too annoying. Without the case I have no problems sliding the smooth phone in and out of my pocket and it still has a better feel in hand than the stock shape. I just hope I don't drop it.
The capacity is still excellent after a week or so. I have noticed that charge time is quite long though. A full charge is taking me around 6 hrs. This is with a aftermarket cable, but I believe it is still charging at 1A. I will use the stock cable tonight to confirm.
Added an update.
please add some pics!
and how long is it lasting with heavy / light use?
I posted some usage info already, but I get almost 2 days with light/medium use. I can still get below 10% with 18hrs of heavy use... texting, reading, a little YouTube, music, WAP, and web browsing. I used to have a dead battery by 3pm using it like that, now it lasts all day.

Seidio 3200mAh Battery Now Shipping!

http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bacy32mtatr-bk.htm
Now available for the Atrix 4G.
Includes an extended battery door, and supposedly only adds 0.5cm to the back, which isn't bad.
Please feel free to post thoughts on the idea of getting one, or if you own it, your experience with the new battery.
Thanks all.
I don't understand why Seidio insists on having the extra battery space be a straight edged bump...Why can't they smooth the edges into the case...Actually show they THOUGHT about DESIGN for a change.

wow, i wonder what type of real battery life that would give...
Wow that is horrible
Dis-gus-ting.
that looks waaayyy more than .5 cm
Welcome back to 1999 folks...
It does seem a tad large. Anyone else find any larger capacity batteries out there besides this one? I was awaiting the Seidio one for a while...bummer
I've been waiting for this
I remember when I bought one of these for my Motorola Milestone.
It makes the phone look like those vintage smartphones of the 90's. Bulky and heavy. Also system can't read the real battery life left. So in a few hours your metter drops down to 1%. Then the red led will blink constantly, unless you reboot the phone so the battery metter resets. Then you'll have to repeat the same process again 2 or 3 more times.
Then we have the battery cover. It was horrible plastic with four cheap metal locks to secure it to the phone.
Having seen the pics of the one for the Atrix, I doubt the story is so much different now.
I have a question to those willing to buy this: how much more battery life do you need?. Under heavy usage my Atrix lasts a whole day, and I have around 30% left at night. I can surf the web, listen to music through bluetooth, play some retro games through Yongzh emulators the hour it takes to travel from my home to my job and vice versa and the battery metter rarely drops more than 10%. With normal usage, the phone reachs the night around 70%.
So I don't see the point in transforming the phone in a Startac.

Yoobao 3000mAh Battery Review

Just ordered one of these puppies: http://cgi.ebay.com/Yoobao-Samsung-..._Batteries&hash=item1e61362f01#ht_1002wt_1139
Thought I'd give it a short review Anyway, I recently got a cheap vibrant that has a semi-borked cellular radio. I decided to use it strictly as a music player (the Galaxy S's audio chip is among the best)
With the stock battery, ZenDroid 1.3.4 + Bali UV Kernel 1.8.6 + KA7 modem, i was losing about 0.7% per hour idling (all wireless radios disabled). Playing music, it drained closer to 3-4% per hour
I got the battery yesterday and did a full drain + full recharge to condition the battery. It has been on for 13 hours now, with music playing for 4 hours continuously and it is only down to 90%. HUGE improvement!! With additional drain/recharge cycles (seller said it takes around 3 to reach optimal performance), I'm sure it will be even better.
Physically, this battery isn't much heavier than the stock battery. Although the included battery hood sticks out a bit, it fits very comfortably in my hand. When I hold it, my index finger rests on the angled part of the door. For anyone that is worried about the extended battery making the phone alot bulkier, rest assured it doesn't change it too much
Nice I might have to look into one now
Vibrant
Rom: Project-V
Kernel: Bali 1.8.6UV or tigers blood 3.22 UV -75 all around.
depends on how i feel
I have been shopping around for an extended battery and this is half the price of the momax battery. But the momax battery has a stand and a glossy cover, so im still undecided.
So these results were from no wireless and no cellular connections? Were you still receiving background sync data?

Not better than stock
I bought this battery from amazon. Am running Project-v and Bali 1.87UV. Was hoping for 2x stock battery life and did a full charge, recalibration, and drained it twice. But this battery does not work better than the stock one. The label said it was a 3500Mah, but Amazon advertized it as 2800. That discrepancy alone tells me to suspect the contents. I honestly doubt there is much more in there than a 1400.
Save your money and get something else.
I looked at several of these extended life batteries and I bought the Momax. Though it is more expensive I have been really happy with it. I can now use my phone for everything (voice, audio, video and data) and not worry about conserving battery to get through the day.
I was down to 45% the other day after using it 18 hours without plugging in and I had it displaying the clock for 4 hours straight while also checking Tweetdeck and answering emails during that time. I had GPS on even though I wasn't using it. I played music for about an hour straight too. Before I couldn't have played the music without almost draining it to that level.
I am completely ok with the extra weight knowing I now can enjoy my phone for the first time. I use it all of the time now. Before I was scared to bring the screen up for too long on days that I could not be near a charger. I like the kickstand on the Momax too. I bought the white one and my only regret is that I think I would have liked the black better. But I may get another one and give the white cover to my wife.
What's the verdict on it so far, OP?
I'd love to hear the verdict as well. Always nice to get extra battery life, but only if its worth the excess bulk.
I almost buy it,btw it's worth ?

Replacement battery owners wanted

Hi ive seen various threads on various batteries but im very interested in these 2300mah and 1950mah standard size batteries on ebay. Anyone had any hands on experience of these and if so are they anygood?
A short comparison to the standard sony 1500mah would be great
Not interested in mugen too expensive for me and i already own a 2600 mah cheapy which is great but too big and ugly.
Anyone tried these out?

Look up gtmax 1780mah xperia play battery on amazon. I'd post the link if I could.
Best deal on an extended battery. Significant increase in battery life, fits with the stock battery cover, and its only $5. It's what I have.
I know you don't want to hear about Mugen Power...
But I will tell you anyway that I have a Mugen Power battery and it gives my phone a full 20 hours of battery life. This is 20 hours of playstation emulation, web browsing, GPS and other forms of very intense use.
This battery is worth every single dollar I spent on it. I makes the phone and consequently me 100% independent of car chargers, wall chargers and other such obstructions.
It is very liberating to know that when I walk out that door in the morning, I can depend on this phone for the entire day. Give the mugen power another look.
I purchased this 2600mah battery from batterybay.net and I simply love it. It works so much better the nthe 1950mah battery I got from Ebay earlier this month. I get a day and half on this thing. And I am a heavy user, lots of gaming and internet usage. This thing was $17 with free shipping, but be warned it took mine 3 weeks to get to me. Either way I totally love this battery. I have not had to charge my phone during the day in weeks, I charge it when I got to bed of course. But Ih ave never had the battery less that 60% at the end of the day.
http://www.batterybay.net/Extended-...n-Xperia-Play-p/sony ericsson -cs-er800bl.htm
but youre still missing the point that he wanted a battery without an extra back cover.
I really don't get some of these requests? A lot of people seem to want a battery that's superior to the stock one, but don't want any extra size, any extra weight and want it very very cheap. If this battery existed, don't you think Sony would have put it in the phone already? Why not contact Sony about your battery concerns? I'm not trying to be rude at all, but until battery technology proceeds further, we have to do what we can with what we have. The big Mugen battery (which I have and use) adds about 6 millimeters in thickness and an ounce or two in weight. My old Nokia 6620 was bigger than this bone stock!! The Mugen was bigger at first for sure but now I don't even notice at all. The massive increase in battery life was more than worth it. Until technology grows, you can't have a battery that's thin, small, light, has a huge capacity and is super cheap. Even with a slightly bigger battery, these phones are still smaller than what we were using just a little while ago.
Cheers for all your feedback, i guess these batteries on ebay are to good to be true. I just thought with technology moving on at such a rate and the 2300mah claims there making these might be a new improved type of slim battery and the purpose of this thread was to see what experiences people who have USED these batteries have had, good, bad or ugly. Its not really for people to guess how they perform and type stuff like you only get what u pay for blah blah... I can guess myself, i wanted some hands on info. I already own a big replacement battery which works great but turns my sleek xperia play into something from the 1990s! Not being rude just trying to get this back on track. Ill try one of these slim 2300mah batteries myself soon im just skint at the moment so i was doing some research first. Ive read a few threads before creating this and it does seem theres alot of people with opinions on these cheap batteries but i dont hear much from people who have actually used them.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1950mAh-BST...426669?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5adfc723ed
And it seemed t owork very well for a few days but after that my phone was glitching out constantly. Games were slow and would stutter. I later found out that the battery's output was not consistent. Thus causing issues with the phones performance. I then found the site I bought my current battery from and even though its a beast the increase in battery is totally worth it. I had to give up my otterbox case for this battery and i have qualms with that. ITs too bad you cant get a battery with extra umph in it and keep the same size. IF you do find something liek that remember that the battery will be hotter then normal and the heat will decrease the life of the battery and the length of time it can hold a charge for.
Nice info. That was one of the batteries i was looking at too... Cheers for that

Does the thicker battery case help with gripping the phone while playing? I don't have any problems holding it, but having that extra grip can't hurt.
To be honest I was afraid of the thickbess of the phone with the new battery cover. But I have found that the thickness does not bother me and when I slide open the controlls to play a game the phone due to the added thickness is a lot more comfortable and I have been able to play for longer periods of time then I could have prior to getting this battery.

Well there is of coarse the posibility of using nuclear power fushion for the battery cells i estimate the eqashion of +2#2.0-#+100=0.11111.000 should be enough power to last one light year of battery use. Oh and no extended back cover will be needed. And i recommend that you do not use your phone to the ear for long periods the sars levels might be slightly high due to the power source.Oh sorry i forgot to mention you need to wear a radiation suit at all times when using the phone and last ov all you must have a 3 mile radius evacuation in place when making a phone call (So there will be no one around to make local calls to i guess). That's about it i think hope i never missed anything out and i hope i was of some help.
I got this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180720751...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_2728wt_752
And i gotta say it lasts for ages, overclocked to 2ghz and it lasts longer then stock battery at stock clocks, and the back feels nice
glad i got this instead of mugen, lasts for 2 1/2 days everything on etc light gaming/browsing whereas battery would be about 3/4 day

Just picked up one of these as well. I'll post feedback once it gets here. Have you had any problems at all with yours?
Nope, and that in a way is the problem for me, i'm constantly expecting something bad to happen but it hasn't and the battery lasts for ages.
Just ordered the exact same one but from the german Ebay site.
Will arrive in 8-13 days.. Will give feedback

Could you try the Otterbox without the battery cover and tell me if it would fit the thicker battery? Perhaps with the rubbery skin cut under the black shell? I can't because I filed off the clips that attach elsewhere. I basically want to buy a second stock battery door and cut a rectangle in it and, if needed, the rubber for the extended battery to extend into the Otterbox Commuter. I wouldn't want to go without the battery door entirely because it wouldn't route the audio correctly and there is also a gap between the camera and flash which water and other contaminates can freely enter.

So I got the battery about 4 days ago and it's great so far! The added thickness is actually quite awesome. Anyone looking to get some great battery life for cheap should pick up one of these bad boys! If you're all about aesthetic and how your phone LOOKS, well that just shouldn't matter haha.

Maybe it's just the starting affinity..
