Okay first off this is proberly the wrong place to post this, but this is the only place where i can get an answer.
Okay, now as everyone knows, we can now record in all camcorder resolutions (720p) even thow at the moment they all have a lag issue i have no doute this will be fixed soon and we will have a perfect HD android camcorder for our HD2's
But now all that is left to be done is to get all the CAMERA effects working e.g 'Distortion, Dots, Vintage cold/warm, death of field' etc...
But one thing that i have noticed is that ALL the camcorder effects are working (ive tested) (i think the build is Dungphp's PYRAMID sense 3.0).
So all that is left to do is the remaining CAMERA effects for a 100% complete HTC Camera, preferably Sense 3.0
So really this is a request to you amazing DEV's at XDA to please work on fixing these last few things

Is there any camera app which you can make manual focus in video mode like htccamera in sense roms?
I usually have MIUI and cm7 roms and I am not enough happy with their camera apps.
(obviously to use in no sense roms...)

This is a post for everyone of us who are enjoin ICS and did not find a fully working camera replacement app for ICS.
What i am looking for in a replacement camera is:
-Video recording (preferably HD recording)
-Picture taking (optional special frames and effects but that is not necessary, i'm not really looking for a toy camera)
-Panoramic pictures (I currently use Photaf, but i would really even pay for an all in 1 camera app)
Now LG Camera can record video supposedly, but when i try to record, i get "Record video failed".
Can anyone help me with settings for LG Camera or a better camera app with video recording that i can use on ICS?
Try Zoom FX or Camera 360, but keep in mind that I don't know which ROM you are using and that means I don't know if the apps I'm proposing will work.
As for panoramic photos I'm using Pano and I'm full happy with it.

Videocam illusion just freezes when i try to record.

Until we get the kernel source code from HTC video camera will always be a problem. This is a well known fact. For the most part Illusion works and is included in most ICS roms, but until we get an update from HTC this is as good as its gonna get.
Huh, Videocam Illusion works for me too on IceColdSandwich 7.4 AOKP STRIPPER EDITION.

I'd like to know if it works on Blackout ICS XL v2.0 SUPER SMOOTH [4.0.3][Sense 3.6] too (picture taking at least)

Hi, I use UCam ver 1.1.6. Pretty good camera app. It supports Point to Shoot/Video/Panorma and is pretty straight forward.
Now as your on LC's ICS (IceColdSandwich) rom, video recording wont work (Video doesnt really work on any ICS rom for DHD, because of the lack native hardware encoding/decoding libs, which btw shall be available once HTC releases kernel 3.0 sourcecode).
Also UCam ver 1.1.6 is latest UCam that would work flawlessly on LC's ICS (barring the video of course). VideoCam Illusion does work for a lot of people but video quality isnt that great and the resolution is no where near the native ones supported.
Hope this helps. BTW I am also on LC's ICS rom, they are butter smooth
Videorecording works in LC's ICS rom but you can't film in HD or high quality generally because then the video will lag. Application I use is Videocam Illusion.
On a sidenote though the stock photocamera works ok if you just want to shoot a fast picture.

Thank you for the UCAM idea, it really is a great camera app it has panoramic cam, spy can (you can make sexy videos of girls kidding ).
Do you know what the paid has that the free version does not?

Us DHD users will most likely be waiting till end of July/early August before we start to see ICS's official source come out. In the new 8.0 SOB version of the rom you are using the camera works great, 3rd party camera apps on ICS is still rather touch and go your best option for picture taking would be the stock.

I can't bear Sense any longer (multitasking is crap, everything is full of scam etc...)
Tried out some AOSP rom's and you can't come back, even for the cam...
So here is my question, is there a camera app out there with the same features ? (taking pics during filming, rapid burst shots to select the best one)

I don't really think there is a camera that has any of the advanced features of the Sense camera. The Sense camera was built for the camera in this phone, so it can utilize all the features. Camera Zoom FX has some effects, I hear people like lgcamera too.
I know what you mean though. I'd love a non-Sense ROM, but I don't want to give up the camera. The camera is a very important part of the phone to me.
There are ROMs that are mostly AOSP while retaining some parts of the Sense framework.
JDR0iD_eXoDiZeD is one example, and it has the Sense camera app.
The only problem with most of these camera apps is that they produce images with too much noise (at least on the HOX).
Camera ICS + is good for pics.
Nothing beats LGCamera as far as recording videos is concerned.

I have:
- ICS+ camera (for pictures and video)
- LG Camera (for pictures and very good for video)
- Camera FV-5 (for picture with advanced/professional settings)
- Shot Control (for picture with advanced/professional settings)
- Pro Capture (for picture with lot of settings and burst mode)
i was on the original GB firmware ... today i flashed this rom and it's really awesome ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2233158 ) ... CrayonV2 ,,,, everything is really awesome except 3 things in camera ,,,
1st Zooming not working at all
2nd when i take a photo the camera makes green color on camera image b4 saving ( but that doesn't effect on the photo itself )
3rd Panorama mode works but the photo get some distributions ...
any idea how to solve that without flashing a rom again ?
1. if your picture is set for 5mpx (max and that's the default) you can't use zoom if I'm not mistake.
2. It's a bug from the rom since is based on cm10
