Hey guys, so I flashed stock + root file from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18768317#post18768317
I downloaded AntTek Program Manager (free freezing application), and now I have just finished processes that I think are useless.
These are the programs I froze:
WiFi sharing manager,
Yahoo! Finance

Social Hub
Media Hub
AccuWeather.com
Android Live Wallpapers
Kies Air
Kiew via WiFi

Ocean weather
SNSAccountLi
SNSAccountTw
SNSAccountFb
Sprint Mobile Wallet
Sprint Music Plus
Sprint Radio
Sprint TV & Movies
Swype
Talk
WIndy weather
WiFi Sharing
System Updates
Should I have not frozen any of these applications? I don't use any of them...
Also, have I forgotten any high battery consuming apps that will help me get better battery life?
Thanks in advance, everyone.

Hi,
all these are Just same as the softwares we install in desktop /lapptop OS considering Android as OS(Indeed it is).
After every new flash, the apps that I ALWAYS re-install straight away are;
ROM Manager/CWM
Root Explorer
Tweetdeck

Let me please rephrase myself. I meant when someone states an app they use, put a "what it does" beside it.
Example:
Sirius App - Sirius Satellite Radio app allowing you to listen to Satellite Radio.
What apps do you think are must have apps? (besides the obvious root apps ie cwm, su, busybox, titanium backup, set cpu)
games or just useful apps... whatcha got?

New android user here, so far this is what I'm finding essential:
1. QuickPic (better Gallery viewer than stock)
2. TuneIn Radio (best online radio streaming I found so far, with local channel support etc)
3. Twicca (best twitter app I have used on Android. I'm patiently waiting for TweetBot to come over to Android)
4. MX Player (best video player I've used so far)
5. Barcode Scanner (reads pretty much every bar code and great QR code reader)
6. FoxFi (free tethering)
7. Cerberus (security app)

Does anyone know if I'll get charged tethering fees if I use foxfi? I'm on Rogers.
Edit - nvm, it appears that rogers has no cost tethering. Another 2 great apps:
Waze (gps)
Avast mobile security (anti virus and anti theft)

aside from some mentioned,
- swiftp (setting up an ftp on your phone)
- 8tracks (music streaming)
- aviary (photo editing)
I have a couple of less popular apps that are essential to my phone.
- Image 2 Wallpaper: best wallpaper setter imho. Allows you to keeps an images dimensions and if your launcher supports it, scroll the image as well.
- Bounce (Be On Time): recent versions have been sucking but this nifty little app would analyze traffic data and distance to tell you when to leave for your next appointment
- Stopwatch and Timer+: the only app that I've found on ICS that keeps a visible timer running in your notification bar. I use this in conjunction with Bounce and I don't have to unlock my phone to see when I need to leave.
- MarketMarks: for those times when you see an interesting app but don't really feel like downloading it right then and there. Basically a book marker of apps which also keeps you updated with app updates for those apps that you don't have installed because you've been waiting forever for an update (i.e. LauncherPro)

Emit: stream my video library from my computer to my phone.
Automateit: I primarily use this to automate what my phone does when it connects to different bluetooth hosts. However it can automate other things such as texting some one at a certain time and date as one example.
Amazon app store: 1 free app a day from Amazon. You have to install from amazon directly.
Nova launcher: just my preference over stock.

I forgot to put:
- SwiftKey 3
- Set DNS
- FlightTrack
- BetterBattery Stats
- Dropsync
These are all Apps I find essential on my phone. I use them very regularly, if not on a daily basis.
I'll try not to repeat any apps that have already been mentioned, but here's the core apps that I always reinstall (in addition to google's gapps):
Primary Apps:
TiBu -- obligatory
Swype -- best keyboard
Chrome -- best browser
Google Voice -- for voicemail only
AdAway -- OpenSource; better than AdFree.
SMS Backup+ -- Automatically backs up your SMS, MMS, and Call log to folders in your GMail account every couple hours. And instead of restoring it all to your phone (which you can, except for MMS), bogging it down, just check gmail instead.
QuickPic -- The fastest gallery app
Remote for VLC -- I use this to control the kids' laptop running VLC (play/pause, volume, playlists, etc).
adbWireless -- my phone charges twice as fast on the 1amp A/C charger VS the 0.5 computer USB, so, adb over wireless is invaluable (and the adb over network option in CM10 isn't working yet anyway)
XDA -- I always go straight to the "Participated" threads tab; wish it did that automatically.
Beautiful Widgets -- best looking homescreen clock & weather with temperature in notification bar
ConnectBot -- so I can SSH into my various linux servers, and into my linux desktop (mainly to grep my encrypted username/password lists... I need to switch to lastpass or somethign one of these days...)
ChargeBright -- This is my own app that I use to automatically set display timeout & brightness to 100% when charging, and revert to auto when on battery. I use this rather than Tasker, because I don't need any of Tasker's other bloat.
Media:
DicePlayer -- DicePlayer has been my favorite video player for a long time now, mainly because it's the only one that can directly play video off of Windoze networks shares (CifsManager app mounting not needed), but, ... DicePlayer was recently forced to gimp their app because of patent/licensing threats, so I think I'm liking MX Player better now. In transition atm.
Games:
Wordfeud -- challenge "zcat" to a game!
Live Hold'em Poker Pro
iMobsters, WorldWar, ...
And... that's it. The core apps.
Nova launcher
Astrid to do lists
Tasker
Nfc task launcher
Chrome
Xda premium
Stickmount (use to mount usb drives)
Google wallet
Marine weather by bluefin
Wind predict ( I sail if your not a boater these last 2 won't help but if you are they are awesome)
That covers my most used aps
lots of good stuff. I use ad free and now im installing adaway to see the difference. im also using nova instead of stock, but im running cm10 and it just that much better.
anyone know of a good task manager... not a task killer but something thatll clear up my memory with a one button click. im using speed boost at the moment but it doesnt look like its really managing my tasks when i ask it to kill some.
A video player combo that's worked on my Asus Transformer OG and now my S3 is:
stock player
mx player
rock player lite
Only combo that seems to do Trainsignal training .avi files properly.
Chrome
Cloudskipper - free music player w/ lock screen controls
World newspaper - sweet app!!
Google drive
Nova launcher

Pocket: great way to "bookmark" sites and probably the most popular "read it later" app (PC, iOS, Flipboard, Dolphin, etc. all support it)
Any.Do: Clean and simple to-do app; wish it had desktop support besides Chrome, though (and, on missed calls, can set up auto-task if you want)
OpenMBTA: if you use public transit in Boston, you need this.
Yelp: what the yellow pages should've been: any sort of business or location with reviews + tips + great search filters (open now, distance, price, etc.)...and has a "monocle mode": basically virtual reality overlay of businesses by pointing your phone in a direction
Google Goggles: QR + Barcode + life scanner (seriously...scan anything and it finds relevant info about)
SoundHound: comes with a great 1x1 widget that, when tapped, starts immediately recording/identifying playing song
DialerEx: beautiful, beautiful Dialer that opens to keypad instantly. I use the Black ICS theme. Also, can rotate.
Boat Browser: only modern browser that supports automatic text reflow in regular browsing (thus better than Dolphin, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, ICS+, etc.)
XDA: duh.
SleepBot: great app to track your sleep and sleep debt.
Visual Voicemail for AT&T: nice app that works like it should
Llama: great free version of Tasker that uses cell towers instead of GPS (pros and cons to that, tho)
Onavo Count/Extend: track data usage and automatically compresses everything (great data saver)
Flipboard: simple to use and beautiful news app
Fontomizer: use new fonts, free, no root, a decent selection, too!
Lemon.com: track your receipts, take pics, auto-OCR and organize: legggit
Lux: adjust brightness, go "below" 0%, make your own auto-adjust tables, persistent notification is next-best to toggle to change
SyncMyPix: free FB-photo syncer...can do "fuzzy" contacts (last name or first name slightly different)
Anyone have a Monthly Calender widget that syncs with Google Calender to recommend? After jumping to AOSP the Touchwiz calender widget seems to be the only thing I miss

Hiya everyone. This type of thread isn't new to XDA as it's on almost every device fora, but I decided to bring it over here aswell.
I'm going to share the most useful applications I have on my S2 and would like you to share more must have apps to add to this list.
Check out post #2 for some of the best games on Android and check out post #3 for some of the best widgets we can use.
1. Power Toggles - This is simply the best toggle app around. Able to toggle lots of main features.
2. Picsay Pro - This is a brilliant photo editor, but limited compared to some others. My personal favourite.

IF YOU'VE FOUND THIS POST, OR ANY OF THESE APPS USEFUL, BE SURE TO HIT THE THANKS BUTTON!
If you know any unique or useful applications, games or widgets please suggest them in this thread so I can check them out. If I think they're good, I'll add them to the list.
*NOTE* - If you wish to know what the best app is regarding your needs, ask in this thread and I, or others, will be able to help you out.
So, if you want to know what the best music player is, ask here and I'll suggest the best ones available.
If there are any apps that you feel shouldn't be in this list, please let me know and suggest a better one. I can then test it and maybe add it to the list, in place of the other one.
If you don't suggest a better app, I won't change anything.
[INFO]Must Have Apps For Galaxy SII
The idea to add widgets into this thread aswell was an idea taken from Goku80 and I hope you lot like it.
So, the list in this post is strictly for widgets. I'll add some widgets myself as a base, but as always feel free to suggest some of your favorite widgets and they may make it into this list.
1. Beautiful Widgets - Beautiful set of Widgets containing clock widget, clock and weather widget, weather widgets, date widgets and toggle widgets with skins/themes support!
2. Fancy Widgets - Personalize your Android home screen with highly customizable clock widgets, weather widgets, home (clock & weather) widgets, forecast widgets, and more with lots of customization options.
3. Ultimate custom widget (UCCW) - If you enjoy customizing the look of your homescreen then this is pretty much a MUST HAVE app for you. It allows the user to create their own pure custom clocks with a near endless array of options to customize it how they'd like. However you want it, you can make it with UCCW.
4. Desktop VisualizeR - Here's another really useful widget if you love to customize your screens. This gives you the ability to make shortcuts and widgets with any image you specify, rather than just the default logos. You can also use this app to give apps a custom icon of your own, which is handy if your icon design doesn't currently exist.
5. Minimalistic Text - Minimalistic Text is a widget app that displays information in a minimalistic way. It can be configured to display time, date, battery and weather information. The layout of the widget is highly customizable throughout.
6. Eye In The Sky Weather - This is for all those who like their weather clean, simple and beautiful. The app includes 12 of the best weather icon sets and the ability to add your own icon sets.
[INFO]Must Have Apps For Galaxy SII
Due to popular demand via PMs, I've decided to add a slot to this thread to display some of the best games we can get on our Android device.
As with the app list above, if there's a great game you'd like to be added to this list, let me know and I may well add it in
1. Pool Break Lite - If you like to play pool, snooker, billiards etc. on the go then this is a great app you. There are a few different variations to play in either single player or multiplayer online mode and even more variations if you buy the pro version.
2. FIFA 12 - This game speaks for itself. It's the latest mobile version of the FIFA franchise and is easily the best so far, with it showing vast improvements. There's a load of different cups and leagues to play through and with great graphics with no lag in the slightest.
3. World Series Of Poker - Probably the best game from EA (in my opinion). If you like to play poker I totally recommend this game. You can play Texas Holdem and Omaha in either cash games, tournaments or play for a WSOP bracelet as the main prize. Guest mode is now available for no login from Facebook is needed.
4. iAssociate2 - This is a good choice if you prefer a bit of a brain tester. iAssociate2 is a word association game you have to figure out which words and phrases are associated to each other. Sound easy? Give it a try and you can soon find out differently.
5. Need For Speed Most Wanted - Another brilliant addition to the EA family, Most Wanted finally brings one of the best racing experiences to Android. It's a brilliant game all round but the only thing it's lacking, in my opinion, is 'free roam' mode. But apart from that, it brings brilliant graphics and flawless gameplay.
6. Grand Theft Auto III - Grand Theft Auto III was a crime game which changed the future of gaming and is amazing to play on the go with our Androids. The full console game with great graphics, full features and surprisingly no lag considering it's such a huge game. Countless hours of gameplay, HD quality resolution and visually stunning graphics make this a must for our devices.
thanks that was i time saver
very useful apps ,thanks

Just wondering can we put together a list of apps, and bloatware. That can safely be removed after your device is rooted.

I don't know all app's but after I flashed the last time I made a full backup of all app's using titanium backup.
Then I uninstalled everything I don't need with titanium.
Almost all Google apps and all s-app's.
I believe there are still a lot of background app's left with are now unneeded.
I believe I've seen somewhere in the dev.section a clean Rom.
Sorry for my bad English
Look at my rom.. X-Note zero edition (post n. 2) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43118095
Removed almost all bloatware and s note is in a separate zip file…
You can look into the rom zip and remove what you do not need in your device… or you can flash my rom

Check out bobdoblo's battery bible on the Galaxy S2 forums. Although not written for the Note 8, you can still follow most of the guide to maximize battery life. Best and most comprehensive guide I have ever seen, and it works well on both my I9100 and my N5110
