HI All
I have just installed my first FroYo ROM (Mondaco), however it cannot find my WIFI connection. Actually it is finding it, but its telling me "Not in range". Its finding other connections and they are normal, I can click on them and then insert password, but I cannot do the same for mine.
Do you have an idea what can be happening?
Thanks for your help
Any help guys? Did I do something wrong with the installation? Can I fix my problem or shall I flash and install the ROM again?
So, I flashed the supposed fix to get WiFi N without reading the entire thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=707218
After doing so, my WiFi just says "Error" when I try to turn it on. I then flashed the supposed fix on the last page of said thread, but nothing changed, I still get the error.
Can anyone help me or advise me on what I need to do in order to fix this? I'm running 2.2 with the latest OTA and rooted. I've tried wiping everything also.
Thanks. Also, thanks to the mod who responded to my reporting of that thread and locked it.
Hi,
I've recently overclocked my HTC Desire HD using clockworkmod with this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835616
After that, my WiFi suddenly stopped working. It could connect, scan; everything, except for browsing and going on the market, things that need an internet connection. (Yes, I did use other things like my iPad and it did work)
Then I tried to overclock through fastboot and adb with the same link. What happened then was that my WiFi died completely; it wouldn't even turn on. Only thing it did was saying "Error" (Actually it was "Fout" in Dutch, but would probably be "Error" if it was English).
Then I did what this topic said:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993981
I flashed the new file and my overclock did change; the max is now ~1.2 ghz.
But my WiFi still doesn't work. It turned back to how it was in the first stage; It can be turned on and off, scan; do everything that it normally would, only apps that need an internet connection won't work.
Anyone can help me?
Edit: I already tried a hard reset, and it doesn't work. My WiFi and overclock state doesn't change after a hard reset.
Edit 2: I FIXED MY PHONE!! Finally. So no need for you guys to help me anymore . And please don't say I didn't try hard enough, because I've spent at least 10 hours in this problem. (Yes, I am a noob )

I just started from scrap following new instructions from a new kernel. If you want to know which one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835608
So I didn't actually solve the whole problem since I wasn't able to run the 1.61ghz oc, but that's ok for me. Hope this helps.

I have been having this exact same problem since upgrading to Android Revolution HD (Gingerbread versions).
At the moment, the only fix I can find is to enter:
ip rule del from all lookup wifi

In a terminal window everytime I connect to a new WiFi network.
If anyone can find a permanent solution to this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

That's weird. I'm running Android Revolution HD since yesterday and I didn't have any WiFi problems. If I were you, I would try to reflash. Also, have you tried to flash the recommended radio in the thread? I think that one of these 2 things should work.

I've tried numerous full wipes, different radios (including the recommended one) and still cannot get it to work without entering that terminal command.
I believe there are a few people with the same problem, yet it only seems to affect UK mobiles :/ ....

I tried to reboot, wipe all and restore but nothing worked... I'm sure a new installation will solve the problem but I want to use my Wifi when I want :/.
Sorry for my english, btw and thank you by advance for an once of solution .

Are you doing a full wipe before installing.
Some jellybean and ics roms occasionally have issues with wifi, but gb roms usually dont.
Try one of mildwilds roms, and do a full wipe before flashing.
If thats not working try the app from the playstore called Wifi fixer here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wahtod.wififixer&hl=en
I also have problem with wifi in ANY ICS or JB rom. It can't recognize any wifi network, sometimes, it even freezes in wifi section in setting. I am sure that I'm doing all of install steps correctly; as I said, I have no problems with roms based on older versions of android. the strange case is that my friends have the same problem. Is it possible that it relates to internet providers in my country? (I'm living in Iran).
