Is it possible to flash this phone to virgin mobile? Since it uses CDMA and runs on sprints network.

I don't see why not. I've seen this phone flashed to Metropcs, cricket, and boost.
unfortunately, i don't know of any guides on this

Well i think sprint owns Virgin mobile to start, so i think they rather keep your money somehow then let you go to another carrier.

Don't speculate on things you don't know. Sprint will not HELP anyone out in anyway to get a non-VM phone on VM be it a Sprint phone or otherwise.

so i was wondering because right now i have the vibrant and im tired of stupid tmobile, and i need a cheaper plan, virgin mobile seems like the answer, soo i wana get me the epic 4g and maybe flash it to virgin mobile, is this even possible?
I'm sure you can't. But you could flash to metro pcs.
Well Virgin Mobile is owned by Sprint, so maybe. I don't see why they'd care. If not, you can flash to Boost.

Or cricket, I think. Both 40-50 a month. If you don't travel a lot its the bomb.
cd's or tapes?
yes u can but u need a virgin mobile phone and plan setup already. Also i don't think we can disscuss how to do it. But when i was searching how to get my epic to virgin or boost i found directions for both. I went with boost cause it was cheaper to pay a local service because i didn't want to buy cdma workshop. I have seen people do the epic/evo on virgin on ebay a few times. But you would have to send your phone to them.
Also you can buy Epics already flashed to boost but it will cost you around $400. $50 unlimited everything with shrink. Never seen a Epic for sale that was already flashed to virgin.

It would probably be best to PM the seller and specifically ask any/all questions you have before even thinking on trying buying. If he confirms its fully flashed over to Virgin/Boost, ur good to go.

Flashing a ROM should overwrite whatever he did so either he doesn't know what he's talking about or he's deliberately trying to rip you off.

wow thx for this info, i think he might trying to rip me off, u could never trust an ebay person..
You can still flash your own rom. Wont hurt anything. Just flashed a new one on my phone today.
Yeah i flash roms all the time. hasn't effected anything. An virigin mobile is sprints network i believe so i doubt anything like modem updates would even effect the phone.
I also checked out that ebay listing i would jump on it if i where you. He's got a good sellers rating and that is extremely cheap. My epic on boost costed $400.
The only thing that would erase data settings is #786 atomic reset...
Even odining won't change them ... but mmsc needs to be reset quite often every rom flash
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
chris is right, ##786# is one of the few things that can reset your data settings. (although this doesn't always guarantee it will reset those particular settings.)
Virgin mobile is extremely easy to put pretty much any CDMA phone on to.
I have had 3 evos, 2 epics and a fascinate I've tested on them.
Good luck!
I havemy epic on VM. I'm thinking of flashing one of the gingerbread leaks. This wouldn't mess up my phone settings would it?

At&t new number or port without a contract, but you must goto a corporate owned store. Do not tell them you have a pda and sign up for the 15 dollar data plan or 30 dollar messaging and data unlimited. You can do it over the phone but they will ship you a sin card .

The One X international unlocked is only for certain GSM frequencies. Well, mainly only AT&T right now in the US.
Verizon uses CDMA and I think US Cellular does too. So it wouldn't be compatible at all and you'd have a brick on your hands.
AT&T, Red Pocket, or Straight Talk.

You're assuming the only option is to change the phone's ESN, I didn't assume that, and was asking the OP how he went about getting the phone activated, nothing else.
Maybe the only option is an ESN swap, in which case I wouldn't be interested, but until the OP has told me otherwise, I'm curious.

As you can see by my name, Im'a Noob! i have a good understanding of computers and cell phones and can follow directions well but have not attempted anything like this so....
Here's the deal, Today i went to Wal-mart to get a new phone for my wife. I decided on the T mobile Samsung galaxy S 4 (on the Wal-mart family plan $40 a month unlimited) . unfortunately, it apparently does not get signal at my house. What i desire to do is move it to straight talk. because Verizon does have signal at my house. So from this point, is there any way to get this Galaxy S4 to see the Verizon towers and work on the Straight talk network using those Verizon towers? And If So, Can someone please post the step by step instructions (without assuming that i know what a jailbreak or unlocking is) so that i can make my wife happy.

Can't be done
Can't be done. T-Mobile is GSM, Verizon is CDMA, incompatible networks.
Straight Talk resells service for the major carriers but for Sprint and Verizon, who are CDMA carriers/networks, you have to get phones compatible with CDMA to use on Straight Talk and vice versa for T-Mobile and AT&T.
ok how about this

Neither the T-Mobile nor AT&T variant will work on Verizon. Period. There isn't an unlock you can do, no ROM you can flash, no special code you can put in to change that fact.
For ST or Net10 to use the Verizon towers you need a CDMA phone, which the M1919 S4 is not. As was mentioned in the post above mine, you DO have the option to run off of T-Mobile or AT&T networks either through the respective carriers or use those towers via Net10 or Straight Talk; but using the Verizon towers in any way is impossible with the particular device you purchased.

Where'd you buy it? I bought mine from TMO and was told I can return it within 30 days for a full refund. As others have posted, you can't do what you want with that phone, period.
Edit: Reread your original post. If you have to have Verizon then the phone you bought won't work. Just like a AM radio won't pick up FM stations. It's that simple. Take it back to Walmart and get a refund. BUT, if you can live with using T-mobile away from home and have wifi at home you can get a T-Mobile plan and use wifi calling and internet access at home, and the TMO network elsewhere. You want to use wifi at home anyway because it doesn't count towards data or calling usage. It's all seamless, so there's no problem using it that way.
Dude seriously I find it hard to believe you don't have Wi-Fi in your home. Because if you do, your problems are solved. Your phone supports Wi-Fi calling and messaging (SMS/MMS). This is why I switched to T mobile.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe the AT&T and T-Mobile variations are able to pick up 100% of each other's bands so this argument is invalid.
Hey all,
I just picked up an unlocked HTC 10 to upgrade from my Nexus 5. Completely loving the phone and wanting to get one for my brother as a gift. That said, I've seen the Sprint version on sale locally through Craigslist for cheap. Does anyone know if the Spring version will work on T-Mobile?
